I never thought I would have unspicy Indian food, but this place proved me SO wrong. If I could leave 0 stars and get a refund for this overpriced plate of nothingness- I'd definitely demand both. Everything looks as it should, but it's like they've never heard of basic salt & pepper. The food was absolutely BLAND! For $35 we got one plate of the Malai Chicken with Tlali for the extra $4, a side of rice, a soda, a side of garlic naan and one rasmalai, which was sticky, but in a gross almost gummy fashion, and almost made me toss the meal up. It was horrific. Do not drop by, do not pass go, just move along if you're at the packing house and looking for food. I've got an upset stomach just remembering how gross the rasmalai's texture was. It comes with a side of yogurt dip and you can upgrade your meal with a side naan that you can choose from a couple different flavors. The chicken is FIRE, I mean both delicious and lip burning spice that I'm not really used to but I like that fuego stuff so it's all good. Samosas were some of the best I had. It's 2 small ones in an order with lentils. The sauce is the best part! You could honestly make that a meal. Chicken tandoori was not great. Chicken was way too dry and the basmati rice was slightly hard. I got this combo with garlic naan (very good! Not crispy enough but would def order again). I had already had a few drinks before it was time to decide what I wanted to eat, and I have to say that Indian food is my favorite when booze is involved. I typically order a vegetarian curry because it's flavorful, safe (no bones or cartilage to drunkenly bite into), and light in comparison to meat dishes. I looked through their menu and saw quite a few offerings that were unique to me, so I ordered two things I had never had before, not realizing the size of each item. Being used to paying over $10 per item elsewhere, I was thrown off by these items being under $10 each. I ordered the rose chai tea, the Pav Bhaji and the aloo masala kathi. The former is a sandwich that resembles a sloppy joe, and the latter is a wrap. Both come with a small side salad. The rose chai tea had just the very slightest hint of rose, but was appropriately spicy and creamy like I expected. I would recommend if you like chai tea. The consistency and texture of the sandwich was exactly what I was looking for, but something about the ratio of ingredients was off for me. Maybe too many onions? Otherwise tasty. I inhaled the sandwich and was so full that I took the wrap home and ate it the next day (it was fine being reheated). Of the two I thought the sandwich was more flavorful. I've only ever been to one other Indian fusion restaurant, otherwise they've all been traditional. I'm glad I tried this place but if I returned I would probably stick to their fusion items and not waste time with the items I could get elsewhere. What was really sort of confusing for me was that they took so long to make my food. Maybe they make everything from scratch but my two vegetarian items took over 20 minutes to make and there was probably only one customer ahead of me. We had a walk in the food court, and we decided to have Fish and Fries and Indian food. We bought Chippy Fish and Fries and Lamb Curry from ADYA Fresh Indian Flavor. The Fish and Fries with ice tea is $14.xx and Lamb Curry is $15.99 both before the tax. I can't believe I ever had such bad Indian food. I always say if there is only one food that can make me be a vegetarian, it will be Indian food. ADYA was so disappointed in me. The curry was tasteless, without spice flavor, and the texture was watery. The only good point was that was hot, I mean temperature not the spicy. I went to India three times, I had more than one hundred curry in different restaurants. I have to say this was the worst curry I ever had. The curry had no sense of sticky, it dropped all the way through the rice to the bottom once you spoon the curry on top of the rice. Come on, it's not a curry. Worst Indian food I've ever had. Ordered a lamb curry thali and received the sorriest Indian dish I've ever had the displeasure of trying. Not only did my food take 20 minutes longer than any of the other vendors that my friends and I ordered from, but the food was a sore disappointment with small portions and bland everything. I tilted my plate and a pool of liquid formed -- not what you want to see in a dish, for water is the enemy of flavor. Nestled on the upper floor in the corner of Anaheim Packing District sits a little bit of Indian flavor. I came here for a snack and dessert. I got the pani puri because I wanted to say "pani puri" when I ordered. It's fun to say right? Actually, I got it because not a lot of places sell this item. It's basically a light crispy pastry that you fill with a liquid like tamarind. The appeal is mainly in the texture which they had spot on. The flavor for me was so-so but it's just fun to eat something light and crispy with a cool refreshing liquid inside. I also ordered the gulab jamun. If you've never had this dessert before they are basically milky floury doughy balls sitting and soaking up and ultra-sweet syrup. This dish out came out pretty standard compared to other places I've tried it. It was however, even sweeter than other places which is a bit much for me. If you're sharing P.S. As she was saying that, another family, Indian, came with food from another restaurant to sit next to us, they also moved two tables to be together but she chose not to say anything to them. I went out to look for my daughter, she was not responding to my message. When I came back I overheard the same lady asking a man to go ask us to leave, by then the Indian family had gotten Indian food as well. The guys said "please" but was not willing to hear our concerns that we didn't know where our daughter was. In the end, my daughter had had a panic attack so she had gotten her burrito of tikka masala and had left to calm down. I reckon they don't realize that a lot of the people who buy their food end up taking the tables available in front of their booth, so we didn't have any other option, plus no one was waiting on the table anyway Again, the food has never been impressive, but now their lack of empathy, their assumptions of us being liars, and their rude tone of the woman and the man, even while using the word please, were disappointing. In my culture, the food you prepare reflects your character and attitude, now I understand why their food has never tasted good. Let's start by how excited I was to try their food. I tried to catch a smile from the chopped champ shachi but she wasn't having it. She actually looked quite miserable. Great addition the packing house! Tucked in the far back corner, Adya is a must go to with tons of options. The staff was amazing and super friendly. I ordered the vegetable curry of the day, which was made fresh. It came with a huge side of rice which was also fresh. The vegetable curry changes daily but on Friday it was a tomato based curry with broccoli, zucchini, and other mixed vegetables. It stayed hot and fresh during my entire meal. The drink I ordered was the Rose Cardamom Chai. It was good, tasted mainly like rose, but don't feel the need to order again. We got the chicken tikka marsala $12, garlic naan 2.99, and the kathi rolls 6-8$. For the amount of food it can easily be shared by 2 people, the garlic naan is delicious, you can't go wrong with garlic naan 5/5. The kathi rolls were a neat concept pack with flavors with chick peas and whatever else, but I did not care too much for it 2/5. The Chicken Tikka was 3/5 chicken pieces were huge but the rice was lukewarm. This is one place I would never return. Service is very lousy, these workers are rude, especially the cashier who placed my order. Even though this is an express takeout , a tip is expected, otherwise, you can expect sloppy, smaller portions. I can only imagine the way they treat their customers is how they treat their food. It was disappointing since the curry was not viscous, but rather similar to the consistency of salsa. There were hints of spices such as paprika, but I mostly tasted the tomato base. This was quite pricey for a $12 item. Masala Chai- This drink is flavored tea with spices added to it. Even though I requested light ice, they filled almost half the cup with ice. Yummmy Indian food for a high price. Wanted to try out their chicken tikkkaa massalaa, let me say, it is pretty good. The seasoning was great and the chicken was tender and well cooked. The first place I tried at the Anaheim Packing District and to be honest I was a little disappointed at the lack of flavor, small size, and expensive price of the lamb wrap that I ordered, based on a framed recommendation posted from a newspaper on the wall :( Lamb wrap and accompanying salad was maybe half the size of a normal Chipotle burrito, and the salad was a few mixed greens leaves.
