Great casual indian place that hits the spot and satisfies any cravings you may have. Located right next to anaheim packing house, but has its own lot so parking was easy. I was in the road with my band. We were about to go to a Mexican restaurant that seemed cool (next time!) but the nearby Punjabi Tandoor smelled so good, we just had to give it a try. The atmosphere is fine. It's casual and clean. The service is fine as well. You go up to the counter to order, and they call your number when it is ready. The food comes in a plastic tray, sort of like a to-go box. So if you are looking for a sit down dining, Indian experience, this isn't the place. Well, it was DELICIOUS. Ordered some takeout for my wife, who definitely wouldn't be home until after 8pm, always nice to have some of her favorites waiting for her. My go to spot for delicious vegetarian or vegan meals. Punjabi Tandoor has been on our food rotation for the last 8+ years and still going strong. With the unique and flavorful food I know my taste buds will forever crave this spot in particular. We make it a point to venture out and try new places but always compare to our favorite local restaurant. We normally order takeout and pickup within 20 minutes. The fresh naan is always hot and delicious. I always order the à la carte Alu Punjabi for the creaminess and amazing tasting potatoes with peas. I complete my order with vegetable samosas and share the hubby's naan. The hubby enjoys the 2 dish combo and typically orders the chicken tikka masala and palak. When we're hungry we can eat the whole meal however we seem to manage two meals out of our dishes. The portions are plentiful and deliciously spicy. Punjabi Tandoor was my go to place in college and was the hype back in SD. It's still ol' reliable, thank goodness! The naan is chewy, crispy, is thick enough to have a bite. Portions generous. I'm vegan and I have had a very hard time finding healthy tasty Indian food that also has vegan Naan bread not only one option but two vegan options for the naan bread, the garlic is unbelievably delicious! I love that my husband was able to have regular and my vegan options were so many and so so delicious! Got the Malai Kofta and the chicken tikka masala along with a garlic naan. Both Currys were flavorful, especially the Malai kofta which has vegetable meatballs in a creamy curry sauce. The chicken tiki masala had plenty chicken meat that absorbed the flavors of the curry sauce. Both curries can be mild to very hot spicy, and you can call them to request no spicy. Great food, service, and options for dessert and drinks. I love the one in Carlsbad the most since that was the first and most-visited location for me. But this place is also not too shabby, and parking isn't a hassle, even though it's across the packing center. I ordered the combo 5 with lamb curry and mushroom masala. The mushroom was all right, but actually my boyfriend didn't really like it. The garlic naan was average. I almost always get a mango lassi, but I wished every place had a vegan version. The kheer was one of the highlights, and next time, I absolutely need to try their pistachio ice cream! I discovered this place years ago and I remember it being my favorite Indian spot. I was in the area and before heading home I decided to stop by here for dinner. After looking at the menu and on yelp for awhile, I decided to do the 2 vegetarian entree, combo #3. It comes with rice, Naan, and a choice of yogurt or rice dessert. I went for the yogurt. My entrees were the cheese Tikka masala and the cauliflower and potatoes. During dinner hours they cook up your food fresh and during lunch hours they have a steam table for you to choose your entrees. I asked if I could do a yelp checkin for a free drink and they honored it. With an upgrade to garlic Naan and 15% tip, the order came out to $21, which is reasonable pricing. While waiting I went around to look for an outlet so I could charge my phone and I found one! Sat at a big table and read my book and ate the food. The portion of the food was big enough for me to eat twice and tastewise it was good 4/5. I did ask for the green minty sauce and was given some but warned it was spicy. The food and service brings this place to a 5 stars for me. It is in my top 3 Indian spots for food! read more

This is hands-down one of my favorite Indian restaurants in the Anaheim/Orange County area. Everything here is consistently delicious and comforting. The naan is honestly next-level. It's soft, thick, chewy, and absolutely perfect. Their veggie korma is one of the best I've ever had anywhere, and I always look forward to ordering it. The samosas are spot on, and the chutneys they serve with them are fresh, flavorful, and so good you'll want to scoop them onto everything. On top of the amazing food, the service is always friendly and attentive, which makes the whole experience even better. Wife and I ordered 2 Combo 4s (2 chicken items) but upgraded one of the items to lamb vindaloo (additional $1.25), chicken vindaloo, tikka masala, and makhani. Food was very fragrant and flavorful and the portions were generous as well. The tikka masala was a bit on the dry side, but that's just how chicken breast is. Personally I added a few pinches of salt to help bring out and highlight the flavors a bit more, though my palate tends to favorite savory/salty foods so maybe it's just a preference thing. My wife and I liked the lamb and chicken vindaloo the best for sure. 2nd time eating from here and 1st time going in person to pick up actually! The place smelled amazing when I walked in. Also lol at the reviewer complaining about seeing their food put into a microwave. Chef Mike does a lot of heavy lifting in ALL kitchens whether you realize it or not. Microwaves aren't inherently bad. We microwaved our combos when we got home and it literally tasted fine. read more

The restaurant is located in a pretty big plaza, so parking was no problem. The restaurant itself is super spacious, clean, and in a sense-- feels home-y! All the utensils, napkins, and water cups + refill station sit at the front for easy access. There was luckily no wait, so we quickly ordered the dinner combo #4 with the Chicken Tikka Masala and the butter chicken. We switched to garlic naan at the last minute and it was the best decision! The people at the front are also just so sweet and helpful. Only thing is, we wish we knew what "kheer" and "raita" was before we went in because we chose that blindly without knowing LOL. (our fault though and wasn't a big deal) The food was AMAZING, I can't believe I've never had Indian food until now! The butter chicken was a bit dry compared to the tikka masala, but regardless-- both were flavorful and delicious. I ordered with a friend of mine that is sensitive to spice, so we got the Combo #5 Dinner mild with Chicken Tikka Masala, Alu Gobi, Naan Bread and Raita. I thought it would be a little to no spice, not little to no flavor. The Chicken Tikka Masala looked like tikka masala, and textures were good, but it tasted like nothing. Even my super flavor sensitive friend thought it was tasteless. Honestly, I hate writing critical reviews, but I'm serious, the naan has more flavor than the tikka. The Alu Gobi was better, still not much flavor and there was only one piece of potato, which was a bit odd. The Naan Bread was very good and the Raita was good as well. The Vegetable Samosa was very good, the tamarind sauce is always my favorite! If you're sensitive to spice, this might be too spicy for you. The Gulab Jamun wasn't bad, but I like others better, so I probably wouldn't order it from here again. The Mango Lassi was delicious and I'd absolutely order it again. Overall, the entrees were disappointing, but the sides and drinks saved the day! This is also the only Indian place I've seen that offers custom spice levels, so I really appreciate that, even though I think flavor was omitted as a result.
