Great Indian food, not super bland and has good spice control. A good diverse menu for any diet and amazing service. Stopped by for the buffet it was really really good. I eat at a lot of Indian restaurants and this one really was good. They have the buffet everyday of the week. You get to try all their dishes and they were all awesome! I tried a little of everything. They have Briani with bone-in chicken. It was perfect. The food was warm and everything looks new in the atmosphere is very nice. Everything looks clean too! The music was really nice also very upbeat but not too loud and calm. Another great thing is they don't have TVs. I noticed a lot of restaurants are putting in TVs and they're always playing when you're eating. Went for lunch buffet around 2pm so I'll judge and review as a buffet rather than fine dining restaurant. The buffet had a good selection of typical desi dishes including: 1- fried items (samosas, pakoras) 2- curries (chicken tikka masala, goat curry) 3- chicken kabobs (seekh, tandoori) 4- vegetarian (daal/lentils, palak/spinach, chana/chickpeas, and mixed veggies) 5- desserts (gulab jamun, kheer/rice pudding) All the chicken and meat items were halal which was great so we could try everything in the whole buffet. All the items had decent flavor. I just wish I'd gone a little earlier in the day when the buffet items were probably more fresh but that's not their fault. The standout and best item we had was definitely the naan which was made fresh to order for us and it tasted great with every item we had from the buffet. Service was friendly and the restaurant was clean with a pleasant decor. Overall, I think this was pretty good value since the buffet was only $18 per person (you can't even get a sandwich or burger for that price now) so I'd recommend if you're looking for a nice Indian lunch meal with a wide selection of items without spending too much. read more

I've often remarked to friends the only thing missing from great Indian food joints is the ability to get as much of the entrees as one wishes without sacrificing quality. Any time I go to a classy Indian restaurant I can never get to the point of feeling full from the one or two dishes like goat curry that are amazing. But, on the contrary, when I try out a new Indian place that has an inexpensive lunch or dinner buffet, their entrees leave a lot to be desired. That's why I'm astonished Tatva not only brings it when it comes to their goat curry, their chicken tika, and other dishes, but it manages to do so beneath the umbrella of their $18 afternoon buffet offering from 11-3 every day they are open, they manager to put together a great offering of dishes that more than pays for itself within the first plate or two. I love their goat curry, even if it isn't as spicy as I would normally like. I know not everyone likes their curry as fiery as mine but I'm just glad the curry manages to be chunky and savory and just right. The chicken dishes too were quite succulent and flavorful. I think the service was really good. I love how everyone was on the ball as far as refills and answering questions about the restaurant. They took a but in picking up the check once I had placed my card inside, but that was the only blip in an otherwise fabulous lunch experience. Everyone was just a professional there. The ambiance was memorable too. It's not a huge location, but I never felt cramped or constrained. There were plenty of tables for their usual patronage I'm assuming, even for a weekend lunch shift. It felt very cosy and warm to be in there and I'm assuming everyone just digs the vibes overall because it very much lives up to its advertising as an Indian Fine Dining joint. Five stars, easy. We came to Tatva for dinner not knowing what to expect and walked out raving about it. First thing that hits you is the vibe. The room is gorgeous, warm lighting, the kind of place that feels special without being stuffy. Now the food. The malai chicken was the standout. So tender, creamy, perfectly spiced. We kept reaching for more. The naans came out fresh and actually crispy, not the floppy kind you get other places. Drinks deserve their own shoutout. We ordered a cocktail and a mocktail and both were creative and genuinely well made. Nice to see a place put effort into the non-alcoholic options too. Service was top notch start to finish. This place has an upscale vibe with chic decor. Came here for their lunch buffet and at 18$/person, it was a pretty good price! The staff is lovely and refilled our water in a timely manner. The food is great and they have a variety of dishes. The samosas and veggie fritters are a good starter, with sweet and tangy tamarind sauce to pair. First time having dinner at Tatva, and it was even better than the lunch buffet! Nicest restaurant in the area! Everything I ate was on point! The presentation of the food was not of a standard Indian restaurant, but was rather elevated to fine dining. You can see the thought and care in every single dish. Really enjoyed our visit to Tatva. The mutton was exceptional -- tender, perfect -spiced, and full of flavor. Naans were thin and fresh, not bready, just how they should be. Last night we visited Tatva Indian Fine Dining with my friend and it was one of the best Indian dining experiences we've had in Orange County. We started with the Chicken Malai Tikka, which was incredibly tender, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. For the main course, the Bengali Fish Curry was outstanding--rich, authentic, and packed with delicious flavors. The Lamb Chops were cooked to perfection, juicy and well-marinated, and paired wonderfully with the freshly baked Garlic Naan, which was soft, aromatic, and absolutely delicious. The drinks were equally impressive. The Mango Mirage mocktail was refreshing and tropical, while the Fresh Lime Soda provided the perfect balance of sweetness and tanginess. We finished the meal with two excellent desserts: warm, melt-in-your-mouth Gulab Jamun and a delightful Mango Falooda, which was creamy, refreshing, and the perfect ending to a fantastic meal. Beyond the food, the ambiance was elegant, the restaurant was spotless, and the staff provided attentive and friendly service throughout our visit. What a nice and beautifully chic Indian restaurant. Enjoyed the happy hour menu with both veg and non options. Loved their lahsuni gobi, crispy on the outside and well cooked and soft on the inside. Had the pleasure of trying this place recently. Came in on a Saturday afternoon and it was quiet at first but as soon as 1pm hit, the crowd rushed in! The good was great! From the vegetarian options to the chicken and rice, desserts and palette cleansers On the way out, this place is a hidden gem! Situated in the back corner parking lot of Imperial and La Palma to the right of the Tesla building. The decor was so lovely! We enjoyed the velvet green seats and light fixtures. This is a beautiful, intimate spot, and the buffet smelled amazing. In fairness, we just ordered a mango lassi to go because we were in a hurry, but we wanted SO BADLY to stay and eat. My wife and I visited last week on a rainy day just before lunch on our way to another appointment. (The lassi was excellent.) We drove down from Riverside to try out this new restaurant for lunch. They opened up 6 months ago. This location used to be Masala Curry. They have lunch buffets for $18 from 11:30 am to 3pm, everyday except on Tuesday, because they are closed on that day. They serve menu items during dinner. The inside has changed from previous owner. Inside is a much cozier and fancier looking decor restaurant. They have a bar now that sells beer and wine. Lighting is dim and music is relaxing. It's a very chill vibe in here. We got greeted and seated right away. Service was good. There were two servers helping us. They kept cleaning up our dishes and refilling our water. There were about 3 other groups here. The buffet area was clean and food was fresh. The garlic naan was made to order so it was steaming hot but so good! Food choices during Sunday was pretty much your typical items that include chicken tikka masala, chicken korma, saag paneer, navratan korma, tandoori chicken, samosa, dal tadka, chana masala, kadhai paneer, gajar halwa, chicken biryani, and chicken sheet kabob. They only had rice pudding for dessert. I wished they had more dessert options. The total for 2 lunch buffets including tips was $49! First impression when walking in was this is a clean, well kept restaurant. Not overly decorated but just enough ambiance. Comfortable booths and seating. We were greeted upon entry. They were taking care of a big catering order before we arrived so we were informed the food would be about 5-10 minutes away from being set out. Perfectly fine with us since we were not in a rush. Went to the restroom in the meantime to wash my hands. Very clean restrooms. The food selection was decent for the price. It's about $18 for lunch, AYCE. I only was able to finish one plate. Everything was seasoned well and very flavorful. The goat curry and tiki masala are a must try. The potatoes were soft and addicting. The veggie samosas had a kick to them. All items had different levels of spice to them, but nothing overly spicy. We ordered chai teas which took a little bit to make along with the chai tea. They were both really fresh and worth the wait. The chai is unsweetened but came with sugar on the side. It was earthy yet tasty. I know it sounds weird to comment on the water but it was delicious. Very clean. All in all spent around $50 with drinks and lunch for two. Staff were friendly and attentive. Next time I'll make sure to wear loose fitting clothes. I can't wait to go back. read more

It's been so long that the place is revamped, and the inside is very pretty! there's nice light music that isn't super loud, the ambience is dark and cozy, and the general vibe is very neat. I personally fried the rice that came with the chicken tikka masala because i was craving it, and added onions. each place is different, and I will say that the meat here is a little sweet from the tomato sauce, and I prefer a savory taste, but I still really love it. you're quickly greeted and seated or provided with a menu, depending if you want to dine in or takeout, and the wait time is pretty normal depending on what you get! read more

Absolutely not. We have been coming here for years since it was the previous restaurant. It was good, reasonably priced, and close to home. I picked up food tonight that my wife called in and when told the amount, I had to ask for an itemized receipt. They are charging $6 for a single naan. The total check was $60 for 2 curries and 2 naans. That is highway robbery. I have paid less for Indian food in downtown LA or New York. Save your money and look elsewhere. We had a large scale, 3 day event requiring lunch and dinner. Our organization recently discovered Tatva and after enjoying the restaurant and food, we decided to use them for our catering needs. The restaurant and delivery team provided excellent communication throughout the weekend and was prompt with every delivery. This helped us out tremendously so that our team could focus on the event and not have an added stress regarding food. Our menu was set in advance and we requested boxed meals to hand out at each meal. Every box came with a good quantity of food. Each and every item was flavorful, tasty, and satisfying!
