Saganaki flambe appetizer. Our server, Hannah, set it ablaze. Falafel, Chicken Kabob, and Spanikopita & lemon potatoes. Huge portions. Everything is delicious.

Delish gyros, moussaka, spanakopita and a chicken salad sandwich for the full one with us! The service was fine. We ordered Greek fries for the table and they were very thinly sliced potatoes fried and sprinkled with salt and oregano. I thought it would have been a little more exciting for the money- The plate was $8 or $10. Too much for the dish. The Sandwich looked good and that diner said it was very good. Our Greek dishes were all good. The salads were fresh and crunchy. There was plenty of meat in my gyro and the tzaziki was excellent. We enjoyed our dinner in the garden dining area. Lovely surroundings.

Beef gyro with fries and a Patron Margarita! Yummy

Best Gyro I have ever had, food was out with 5 minutes..a wonderful margarita, had a seat next to the warm fire...my waitress was so friendly and kind, and informed me that in the summer season they open up the front of the restaurant where you are surrounded by flowers and gardens...I can not wait to come back in the spring/summer season to enjoy the other half of this GEM of a restaurant!

Really enjoyed my lunch here yesterday. I've been to Greece and this meal made me feel like I was back. Love that the wraps came with an option of fries or salad. The food overall was fresh and delicious and the prices were fair. The service was friendly and attentive. The space was cozy and welcoming as well, I will be back.

I had the whole fish with lemon potatoes and it was super fresh and grilled perfectly. The outdoor seating out front was cute. The staff lovely. My friend had a seafood dish in red sauce called santorini which she really enjoyed as well.

For some reason, I have never been here. But I do want to go back and give it a try. Seems like a nice family-run Greek restaurant with quality food. Perfect for a family dinner, but probably not for a first date or special occasion. My wife and I each ordered on of the Greek specialties. I had the Braised Lamb Ragout Stew, which was flavorful enough that I finished the portion. I think it could have had more Greek spices in it. Good, but I won't order it again. My wife had the Filet of Sole "Plaki" Style. She said that the sauce overpowered the sole and she could barely taste the fish. I think the fault was ours. We should have ordered the more simple items on the menu, such as the kebobs or pita wraps. My guess is that they are the items most commonly ordered. And, they looked good. The person at the table next to me said the best thing to do is to have a dinner of appetizers. He particularly suggested the Char Grilled Octopus and the Grilled Loukaniko (lamb and pork sausage). They both looked great. I think that ordering those with a Greek salad will be what I do next time.

The ambiance is lovely. We sat at a nice little table hidden behind a wall in the corner. It was cozy and private. We started with the saganaki, pictured, and ordered a gyro, moussaka, and falafel. The moussaka came out cold on the bottom layer. It had to be sent back to be warmed. The fresh cut Greek fries are more like fried potato chips. We weren't expecting that. Overall the food was good. Two of us would have given the overall experience a 7.5 while one of the three of us said 4.

Everything! They make the most delicious Greek shrimp scampi, and I love their Greek salad. The owners are so very nice.

LOCATION: The present location is on Winsted's main thoroughfare. Ample parking is available in the lot behind the brick building that houses the restaurant. CONCEPT: Chef Noujaim brings the culinary traditions of his native Lebanon, as well as some dishes from other Mediterranean cultures. AMBIANCE: The restaurant is divided into two dining areas. Sunlight streams through the large exterior window, and mirrors placed along the brick walls of the interior dining room bounce light and make the space feel more expansive. SERVICE: Service is exceptional... Chef Noujaim is very active in all aspects of the restaurant, yet takes time to personally connect with customers. There is such a welcoming feeling when visiting Noujaim's Bistro -- one that is uncommonly experienced in Connecticut. FOOD: I haven't been able to match the Lebanese food I've had at Alladin Restaurant in Allentown, where there is a large Lebanese community. After decades I've finally found a match during my first visit to Noujaim's Bistro. I chose dishes to best compare my U.S.-based benchmark-- Hummus, Baba Ghanouj, Fattoush, Turkish coffee and Halvah. Portions were generous, inviting sharing. The Fattoush was far better than my benchmark in both presentation and preparation. Likewise the Halvah, which was served with candied orange. This dessert paired perfectly with the intense coffee. So good, I was eager to return the next day. Given it is an hour long drive from home, my solution will be to order additional dishes to take home! TIPS: The restaurant is open Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Catering is a popular option, and the business is able to cater in New York and Massachusetts as well. Consider coordinating a visit with the American Museum of Tort Law just down the street, founded by another community member of Lebanese descent, Ralph Nader. Portions are generous and invite sharing.

There were also no bones, which was great, though I wish there was some sort of dressing or more oil and salt in the sandwich. The fish itself was plump and substantial, and the veggies tasted fresh.
