They both state that they really enjoy the meals and the dining facilities, also the opportunities to socialize with others in a variety of dining options. I am unable to address the costs with any accuracy so I will say I only understand that fees are 'hefty'. But that includes all expenses. The family members support each them with frequent visits and supplement anything they need. At times, the staff is not 100% on the ball and require that we keep check on doctor's orders. It is important to do this since health issues are involved.  There are a variety of activities offered and many residents take advantage of the offerings and state that the choices are outstanding. These activities offer so much, friendships, socialization, enjoyment and much more. The programs are high quality and open to all. So far, the individual apartments are pretty basic. The windows are large and open onto lovely landscaping. Moving in required that each family member had to leave much behind and only bring in a few treasured items to fit into the small apartments. For our family members it is important that we 'supplement' their lives with our support. We do so with love and affection.

Every time I visit the Ida Culver house, I am just so impressed with the quality of the staff. One of the places where the staff has an opportunity to really shine is in the dining room. Every time I am there, I am just so impressed with how the staff handles their roles, how kind and engaging they are with the residents. At the end of pretty much every meal, "someone" seems to always mentions how great the staff is.

We were overwhelmed and trying to make the right call for our parents. The staff didn't just know our mother's name, they knew her. Her routines, what calmed her, how to reach her on the hard days. The sundowning was something our family had struggled with for a long time, and watching them handle those moments with such patience was a relief we didn't know we needed. Our father received that same level of thoughtful, personalized attention through his stroke recovery. Low staff turnover, consistent communication was really important to us and Langland House was so reliable. It was the perfect environment that made my parents feel like they were still at home, rather than a facility. The decision had to be made on a very short notice and I must say, Langland House provided them an excellent care. The staff is amazing and not only made the residents comfortable but made them feel at home. Not only the staff constantly had their eye on the residents but were watchful for their safety and comfort. Based on what I observed with all the residents everyone enjoyed the food and the type of care each one needed. Both received their medications on time, the medications were ordered every month on a very easy to track system so the family did not have to worry and run-around in panic at the last minute. Staff took each resident for a walk either outside or made them walk inside as part of a daily routine. Langland House is nicely designed with lots of windows facing east, west and south. The light into the common areas and the bedrooms and high ceilings brought a very peaceful setting / feeling not only for the residents but anyone of the family visiting the facility. I would highly recommend considering this Langland House facility on Densmore Ave N in Seattle for any family member if their family member is in need for such a facility.

My mother has dementia and my father was struggling as her condition progressed, to the point where he couldn't find time to research respite care. We all rallied, but even with all the help our family could provide, it wasn't enough. We we drowning. With a few sessions with ECN, we had a list of vetted facilities and a expert guidance on how to navigate Medicaid. My parents are now settled in an assisted living facility and my father has help with mom. I cannot thank them enough. Anyone who has tried to figure out dementia care knows how emotional and draining the process is. We couldn't have done it without Heather and ECN.

For a couple of years prior, she had been in other assisted living facilities more like apartment living, where she was isolated and alone, never knowing who would deliver meals or tend to her needs. At Northgate Senior Care, the staff lives onsite, and they are wonderful. In the 8 months she's been there, we've seen her kind of come out of her shell. She eats with others in the home, attends activities like music therapy sing-alongs, and is very happy with the caregivers. They take such amazing care of all the residents. The facility is very welcoming, always super clean, and it always smells like home-cooking! The caregivers are attentive, ready, and willing to do whatever is needed, and they do it with a happy attitude and smiles on their faces. We appreciate them so much for taking such great care of our mom. We feel very fortunate to have found this beautiful home for our mom to live out her life. Management offered no help or accountability, even suggesting she might have misplaced or traded items, which was not true. Over the next several months, more of her belongings went missing. 2 coats, sweaters and inexpensive earrings. During a later meeting with other residents' families, one man shared that his wife was terrified because staff were going through her things while she slept. This confirmed our fears. We paid roughly $20,000 to get her in this facility. We hoped it would be safe, compassionate care, but instead endured a deeply traumatic experience. I would never recommend this facility to anyone seeking trustworthy memory care for their loved one.

The location is outstanding, with a Metropolitan Market across the street and some of Seattle's best parks and walking trails nearby. The food is excellent as well--especially the breakfast burritos. The staff is consistently friendly and welcoming, and there is always something engaging happening for residents. I've been especially impressed with the Health and Wellness Director, Heather. She has a strong pulse on the building and a deep understanding of each resident's individual needs. I've seen firsthand the care and intention Heather and her team put into ensuring that care is personalized, thoughtful, and well-coordinated. She does an exceptional job guiding her care team and working closely with outside partners to make sure residents who need specialized support receive it. Just as importantly, she communicates clearly and compassionately with families. Empress is a special community, and it truly shows in the quality of care and attention given every day.

Lorraine is on top of everything and communicates any concerns immediately. She also answers all questions openly, willingly, and thoroughly. The caregivers are first rate and have been there for a long time. They are so warm, funny personal, and observant. Each time I visit, I feel great leaving Mom in such caring hands. The house is modern yet cozy and homey. It couldn't be cleaner. It is in a quiet tree-lined street and has a backyard and side patio. The home cooked meals look and smell delicious, and at holidays they pull out all the stops!! We are truly satisfied with all aspects of Mom's care at Sun Village!

The majority of the facility is older with big picture windows facing either a meditation garden or a beautiful, large sunny garden. This won't fill your needs if you're looking for brand new, McMansion type living. But if you are looking for wonderful spaces, bright and cheerful views, top notch staff with absolutely great communication, you have found the right place for your loved one(s). Soon after our Mom moved into Ida Culver, her health started to decline. The staff of Ida Culver was right on top of it, communicating to us what we didn't always see on our regular visits. Not only was the staff great, the other residents looked after Mom, and communicated to the staff when there was a problem. They were with us in dealing with hospitalization, were with us in dealing with the hospital regarding her care, and were with us for the short term of skilled nursing in order to gain strength. Our Mom will be transitioning to full assisted living, and the nursing staff has been wonderful concerning planning, communicating, and meeting with us. Bravo Ida Culver. It's wonderful to find a place that truly cares about their residents and 100% advocates for the best care possible. They have made this difficult journey that much easier.

They are very caring people who's bedside manner is respectful, understanding, loving and kind. I'm immediately told of any medical issues so I know they are in great care. Nilda wants the best for her residents and is so thoughtful with activities and special celebrations. Birthday parties, painting parties and bringing in musicians are just a few of the wonderful things she does. She pays attention to each individual's wants and needs. She paints with my mom, buys connect-the-dot activity books for my dad. Yes, we love this place so much, I moved my dad in too! The home is extremely clean and inviting. Each of my parent's rooms have french doors out to the beautiful backyard. The grounds are impeccable. They've created a park-like environment with walking paths, a fountain and a beautiful covered/heated gazebo for residents and their families. To me, this is above and beyond what most other facilities would provide. They are constantly making improvements to the property, inside and out. I highly recommend this home. They give your family member a soft place to land when they need it most.

However, in those two weeks, the caregivers were exceptionally kind, gentle and thorough in their care of Dad. His passing leaves my heart sad, but I'm comforted knowing that he passed in such a kind and caring environment. Words cannot fully express my gratitude.
