They are all very nice and treat you with respect.But. . . 1) Poor communication with patients. Anesthesiologist called in that he's not coming in. This puts them way behind. Instead of calling and asking me to come in later for surgery they let me wait in their very uncomfortable bed with an IV for 4 hrs before my surgery. 2) None or very poor surgical center management. I became very agitated because of the long wait and several different nurses coming by to assure me that it's almost my turn. . . When it wasn't. They were making up reasons for me to shut up and continue waiting. Then they just stopped coming by to check on me for the last 1.5 hrs. They finally came by after my partner told them I was leaving without my surgery. I had no idea how many more hours I was going to have to wait and I was so uncomfortable. 3) they offer no pre-surgical sedative to help keep you calm and comfortable. I imagine my blood pressure was sky high when I went in for surgery. 2) They leave it to the patient coming out of general anthestesia to unbox a cold pad and place it on your own shoulder. they told me about a cold pad they would be putting on my shoulder after surgery. Even made it a point to bring it in my room still in the box and tell me it would be behind the bed. But nobody placed it on my shoulder to help with swelling. I realized it at 3am the next morning when the nerve block started wearing off and I was in great pain. I found one in my freezer left over from my partners shoulder surgery and it really helped. They didn't help at all. If I have to have surgery on my other shoulder at least I will know I am expected to bring someone with me who will advocate for me. read more

Well, my same baby that needed to go to Affinity 5years ago had to go through a different surgery this week. As nervous as I was, deep down I knew my child was in the best outpatient surgery center based on our previous experience. The one thing that stood out to me 5years ago was that they carried my baby into the OR and they did the same thing yesterday with my almost 6year old. The sweet anesthesiologist, Dr. Ho, carried him in. I was so nervous and everyone there was so kind and patient with me and my questions/concerns. They really helped make my son feel as comfortable as possible and even let dad back in triage when our son was waking up. Our nurse was Meghan and Angelica and they were the sweetest nurses. And Audrey at the front desk was so kind and helpful. I couldn't have picked a more gentle and caring group of people to care for my son than who he had yesterday! read more

Yesterday I had carpal tunnel surgery at the affinity surgery center, and it was a very pleasant experience. All of the nurses were very nice and very pleasant. It was such an amazing experience I went back 2 weeks later for my other hand to get worked on. Joanne and Anne was there to assist me with the questionnaire to make sure they had all my allergies written down and prepped me for surgery. I personally had a Beir block and didn't want to be completely under and the anesthesiologist was able to accommodate my request. If I could give 10 stars I would. The facility was extremely clean and detailed in there check in to make sure your comfortable and not too cold with warm blankets. I got both hands worked on by Dr wang and it's been one month after surgery and my right hand is 60 percent back to normal and the PAIN from carpal tunnel was instantly gone. I can not say enough appreciation for getting my life back so that I am able to do basic everyday things without taking pain medication swelling and pain daily. read more

I had surgery at Affinity Surgical Center on Friday the 8th. We were immediately greeted by Audrey at the front desk, who was a delight to speak to. She quickly got me registered, and I was ready to be called into pre-op, which only took about 20 minutes. I was then greeted by Jen and Gaby, my pre-op nurses, who were very thorough in explaining everything to me. I have to give Jen an A+ for starting the IV in my hand without even leaving a bruise or poke mark! Thank you, Jen! Everyone at the surgery center was friendly, competent, and kind. My son had his circumsion done here by Dr. Andrew Hwang. The experience I had was wonderful. Being a nervous mom and my son being 6 months old at the time. He had to be put under and I was scared. My husband brought our son to his appointment in January and mentioned that everyone involved (Audrey, Sacha, Sherry, Jason, and Dr. Rosano) were all very nice, friendly, and overall it was a great experience. My son's surgery was performed by Dr.Hwang. I have nothing but good things to say about Dr. Hwang. He and his staff have communicated well over the phone and through the text option, & one time I sent a text on a Sunday about some concerns I had about my son, just to have it sent sooner & so I didn't have to worry about it Monday morning. I really wasn't expecting a response over the weekend. Well to my surprise, Dr. Hwang himself responded to my text on a Sunday night! It meant a lot to me that he took the time to go over my concerns that night, when I'm sure most would want to relax on their night off before the work week. He always explains things clearly & I feel like he genuinely cares that not only his patients feel comfortable, but so do the parents. The care and Quality customer service I experienced was extremely exceptional. I went in for surgery on December 3, 2024. The front desk receptionist Audrey was so sweet and welcoming. First impression is everything and she definitely set the tone for every other staff member I came in contact with. Next Nurse Sherry was extremely supportive, friendly, and patient with me. I could tell she's passionate about her patients and her job! March 25, 2022, review for Affinity Surgical Center and staff, including the amazing Dr. Michael Monroe. My 13yo spec ed son (ADHD, anxiety disorder, executive function disorder) broke both bones in his leg and the growth bone in his ankle in March 2021. He is a Medicaid patient and was sent to UMC Children's Hospital for surgery and/or to set. We were still under Covid mandates at that time and hospital visits were worrisome. At UMC Children's Hospital I found out specialists (good ones) volunteer to be on call. Dr. Michael Monroe was on call but not on my insurance list, but your insurance WILL cover it if anyway if they are assigned to you on a volunteer weekend. I was impressed and amazed by Dr. Monroe, who asked me to let him get approval from my insurance to do my son's surgery at Affinity Surgical Center instead of the hospital, for safety. I had been in and out of hospitals during Covid, and it as a nightmare, so I happily agreed. A few days later, we met Dr. Monroe and his wonderful, amazing staff at the Affinity Surgical Center and then routinely at his office for several months. Yesterday, March 25, 2022, we returned to the Surgical Center to have the screw in the ankle removed and the ankle inspected with a mini camera to be sure everything had healed correctly. Remember, all this happened to my spec ed son with very heightened anxiety disorder and who hates needles, hospitals, doctors and anything to do with that. I believe a good way to judge a well run doctor office is to look at the staff. And that's staff during surgery and at the regular office for follow up visits. If the staff is nasty, rude and/or hateful to you during this stressful time, it makes you wonder if they hate working there due to the doctor, or if the doctor is blind to his awful staff is he also blind to helping the patient, or is the doctor stressed because he cannot get or manage good staff and if he is do you want him working with you while he is stressed out. Well, Dr. Monroe passed the surgery coverage with excellent c are as did his surgical staff - both times! Special thanks to Audrey at check in, Gaby the pre-op nurse, Patty and Joanne and Brad - the wonderful nurses caring for my special boy set-up to surgery to post-op return to discharge. These hard workers who provide care for your loved ones during extreme times did not have one negative or hurried or sharp word. Everything was cautious, sweet, caring, explained and so professionally managed. When you can say a stressful time like this was pleasant, then you know you had EXCELLENT care. But many doctors can be great to you (Dr. Monroe does qualify as GREAT), while their office staff for regular visits are just awful, or incompetent, or never do follow through. Under Dr. Monroe we also experienced an EXCELLENT staff and excellent care during the routine follow up care while my spec ed son's leg healed. Every person there from the appointment setting, to reminder calls, to assisting with the bulk of paperwork when preparing for a visit to the Surgical Center, to scheduling surgery, taking continuing ex-rays - I mean, WOW! Five stars, five stars, five stars - and is that all I can give because they deserve 100+ stars! People in Las Vegas know how hard it is to find good doctors and staff that match. If you need bones set look no further. Oh, and I should mention, Dr. Monroe has a physical therapy and rehab office right next door that is also amazing, with an abundance and variety of amazing equipment to get your recovery on track. My son has been at this surgery center twice. 1st time for ear tubes, the second for tubes (again) and adenoids. Both times the staff was very professional and courteous to my family. Excellent help! I had a metal shard jammed in my thumb, no set of tweezer nor Urgent Care nor Emergency Room could best it. They referred me, I made an appointment and it out in no time. The anesthesiologist was spot on; I barely remember him saying I would start to feel drowsy and next thing I know he was telling me they were all done. Dr Wang did my surgery; in the grand scheme of things I'm sure my issue pales in comparison to the complexity of surgeries they can handle. But nonetheless she took care of me professionally. To be very upfront and honest, I have a strong respect for this Business. My son on Monday, November, 18th, 2019, had to have surgery here by his Specialist. The first time I spoke to this business I was told when, where, and time for the appointment. I arrived out of respect at 12pm for a 1pm surgery. The surgery didn't start until roughly 3ish. I personally did not have any problem with this, because it's average and understanding that some surgeries take longer then usual. My issue was my son did not eat anything from midnight on, so he was starving. Looking at a 6 year old and trying to explain why he can't eat was rough. Yet when he did go in the nurses were very comforting of my towards my son. My only gripe was in the past I was allowed to be by daughters side when she was put under, my son wanted the same, because he was scared. The front desk receptionist had told me that there wouldn't be any issue as long as I immediately left the room. Well needless to say I was not permitted back there and was told the room was small lol. Well either way I have experience in this area and did not see what the bother was about. I did it for my daughter twice, but I laughed at how one person says one thing another says something different. That's honestly my only gripe. Other than this small nonsense I would say I would trust them with any family member. The facility was clean, the waiting area was alright, but if you had to use the restroom, you had to ask the receptionist to use it, because it was behind a locked secured door.
