Be careful out there. I went ti 1Auto Center Corp in Hialeah. My truck has what sounded like a manifold problem (very loud). Brought it here. They took it and supposedly put it on a lift and determined I had a cracked manifold. Need to remove the turbo and the head on the engine. Suggested changing the timing belt. Estimate was starting $6500. Took it to another shop for a second opinion. Turns out it was a damaged hose on my turbo. $646 and good as new. Either these guys don't know what they are doing or they are trying to cheat you. read more

One thing that is very important and there are statues and laws is, YOU MUST ADVISE CUSTOMER OF ANY REPAIRS BEFORE MAKING THEM SO THEY CAN AUTHORIZE THEM. I went back and fourth for a whole week trying to get my car back, decided to fix things without my knowledge and charged me for it. Clearly states in Florida statue 559.909 I tried to resolve this by meeting them at 50$ for a unathorized repair they wanted 80$ I told them I'd meet them halfway I never wanted this fixed(broke bolts along the way.) Long story short was told twice to pick up car with no payment needed both times I wasted my time, second time I was asked to leave the building which I did before they call law enforcement I contacted law enforcement myself because after I told them I'd pay the amount the 80$ they only wanted cash were it clearly says on their wall sign cash or credit card. I did not have cash on hand, after police TELLING them to accept a payment because their holding my car and not wanting to take my payment with what I had. So I paid just to get my car out of the shop, at this point police did not want to be babysitting they can see I was correct in this matter, they brought in the car to connect sensors that were disconnected to actually finish the repair, at this point law enforcement was pissed that I paid for a service that has not been rendered. Stay away, they're prices are high also and will charge you bs "admin" fees and will fail to disclose things. Suppose to had shop for 30+ years but don't know basic statues and customer rights? I will be doing a chargeback and let's not mention no type of paperwork was signed. read more

People say that there is no such thing as an "honest mechanic", but these people have never met Neil from Affordable Auto Repair. I was having issues with my car not starting. I went to a chain location, starts with "Tire" ends with "dom"; and after 4 hours and 3 mechanics they just told me "I don't know whats wrong with it". I looked up affordable auto repair and after reading their reviews I had to call them and speak with Neil. I explained to Neil what was wrong, and what I thought it could be. He assured me he would be able to pin-point exactly what was wrong. I dropped off my car the next day, and by the end of the day my car was up and running. If you live in Miami, there is no other place to take your car or truck. His knowledge and experience is about as high as one can can attain. But that pales into comparison when it comes to his customer satisfaction. I have a 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee with over 140,000 hard miles on it. The first time I took it to him, I needed it back immediately. He had my jeep towed in after his shop was already shut down for the day and by 8 am the next morning he had already fixed it.... even though it was his DAY OFF and to top it all off, he fixed another problem I had (vacuum leak) for free! FREE!!!! A couple of months later, I had the same problem. One of the parts he replaced had gone bad. Because he really cares about customer satisfaction, he dropped everything, replaced the part again with a higher quality version and had me on my way FREE of charge. Not only that, but he noticed I had the wrong radiator cap on... and he replaced that for FREE too! Best mechanic hands down. Honest, intelligent, friendly, hard working, keeps his prices very low and he is loyal to his customers. While the auto repair performed is decent and they don't up sell on service that is not needed, I will not be going back. A service that was performed was not completed properly the first time. I noticed later the car was not responding as it normally would, and I requested to check the vehicle for the same job that was done before. After discussing the matter during my visit, it was decided to check and then perform the job if necessary. The mechanic noticed the previous job was not completed properly, and I was charged a small amount similar to the previous improperly completed job. When I mentioned the next day that my records indicated they were the ones that did not perform the job right, the owner became defensive and neither offer a refund for the first job and did not even apologize. Apparently, having satisfied customers is not in their interest, and when you deal with any mechanic it should be the number one priority. Always avoid any mechanic that will not listen to you and not work things out with you. There are plenty of mechanics in Miami-Dade. Look for another one, as I have decided to do. read more

Good con. Waste of my time and money. Expected honesty & integrity. Verbal agreement prior to automotive repair was not honored. (Record all my discussions with anybody that's getting my money - will find out if admissible in court.) He agreed he'd file through my warranty (prior to me handing over keys) and didn't. I confirmed with my warranty (prior to appt) that they'd accept all ASE certified work, so if he had submitted claim (as we had discussed) it would've been approved. Some of his "work" was completed with no prior quote. Have photographic proof some of his work was not actually done. Other piddly services also supposedly completed...charged nearly $1,000. Should've cost me only $100 deductible total for all "work" since my deluxe warranty covers bumper to bumper. Lesson learned...expensive lesson. Less talk, more action. Expertise - uh, none to speak of. Not impressed. BBB needs to know. Planned on using dealership (since they're easier to hold accountable) but they were closed due to Virus outbreak. This place is one of a kind. Niel is honest, reasonable and cheap. Now, he knows his worth and he is always working but he is VERY reasonable. He has a line of companies that use his services weekly so he is ALWAYS busy but he is worth my time. I have a '99, C230 Kompressor with over 250k miles on it so it doesn't stay at home. In 12 years of owning my car, I have had a hard time finding someone who was capable and trust worthy. Most mechanics understand Japanese cars and American cars better than German cars. He is talented and knowledgeable. He can work on domestic cars too, of course. He was recommended to me by a friend who drives a Ford, and was told about his shop, by someone who drives a Subaru and a Honda. I guess he can work on any type of car. It is very hard in this city to find someone reliable. That is why I recommend him to anyone, no matter what they drive. I do not take my car anywhere else. read more
