I was referred to Transmissions Unlimited by my mechanic, who I trust and who I've been going to for 7 years now. First impression was that these guys are freaking busy, so busy that there's almost no place to park. Some other reviewers seemed irritated by this situation, but for me, it was a good sign--they are in demand. Second impression was from the gregarious retired police officer in the office who assured me (I must have been radiating worry) that this shop was honorable, trusted by him and his colleagues over the years. His rave review was cut off by the prompt service I received from George, who runs the place. He was direct, courteous, and incredibly patient. I left my 2010 Honda Pilot to be diagnosed, and he got back to me that afternoon. Honestly, the only bad experience I had was dealing with my extended warranty. George explained the problem thoroughly, was considerate of my budget, and took care of me and my Pilot quickly. I was speaking so highly of him afterwards that my sons asked if he was my new best friend--he is way better than that: a trustworthy mechanic. Nobody wants to hear that their car has transmission trouble, but if you do find yourself in that uncomfortable position, I highly recommend Transmissions Unlimited. So, let me start by saying that I had my differential worked on about 2 1/2 years ago at transmissions Unlimited. I went from 273 gears to 373 gears on my 2014 V6 Mustang. The car ran absolutely beautiful for 2 1/2 years (I abuse the hell out of my car every single day) I decided to pro charge my car and unfortunately The carrier bearings are starting to go bad. I live in West Palm Beach and I make the drive all the way down here because there's nobody else that I trust with any of my drive-terrain parts!! I feel so defrauded. Bright my car here because the car was making noice. They told me my front differential needed to be replaced. After spending $1600 in repairs the car makes the same noice. Now they tell me it's the rear differential.... um, a car car place should they have mentioned that to begin with or maybe they are just aren't experienced enough. These guys just saved me four grand, I figure five stars is about right. Another mechanic told me I needed a new transmission and offered to sell me a new car instead. I had it towed to Transmissions Unlimited to get a new transmission and after looking at the car they informed me that it was a spark plug issue, the transmission was fine, and I wouldn't have to sell a kidney to get my car back. On the road again... Thanks to Jorge at Transmissions Unlimited, I am on the road again and shifting smoothly from one gear to the next! I have a 2010 Grand Caravan with about 92k miles in it! My dream was to eventually convert it into a camper van but I started having issues with the transmission, notably in 4th gear! Every time I got to about 47 mph, the car would sort of pause and feel like it was going to stop! A very scary feeling when you are on the highway! I wa referred to Jorge at Transmissions Unlimited by my usual mechanic! He took my car for a test drive and used a computer program to analyze the system. He found the exact problem and we discussed pricing, etc! I eventually decided to go along with the repair and am glad I did as I feel there is a lot of life left in my van!
