These folks did an A/C compressor for me at a very fair price and inspected the vehicle while it was there. No hard sell, just facts. I subsequently also had a new wheel bearing installed, a valve cover gasket, a heater hose that was ready to blow, spark plugs, and an ignition coil rack. Made the mistake of telling them I wasn't in a hurry... which I wasn't... but they didn't hurry either. HOWEVER... when I did get my vehicle back, not only had they fixed what was wrong with it and done so at a very reasonable price, they also fixed another minor item that had been annoying me for years but never said anything about. I wrote a very positive review for Scott in 2014 and rereading it now I stand by what I wrote. I have had only consistently great experiences in taking my car to Scott/Affordable Auto over the years. Recently it was time for some repairs. My car is a 2005 Toyota Camry and has served me well but it was time for some new brakes, a new strut mount and a new radiator. Scott brought all of these to my attention and provided an easy to read quote. Very clear and open communication. I had time to consider my options. No pressure. In the 12 years we've been taking our cars to Affordable Auto we've never had questionable or bad service. Just the opposite. In fact, we trust them 100%, and that's huge! Reading the bad reviews, I can only say that their experience is the exception--NOT the rule. There have been several times when Affordable Auto went above & beyond what I'd expect from any auto repair business in the way of price and payment, making it possible for us to get our vehicles back on the road. We are forever grateful to the owner for this!! Today I had an appointment for 9 AM. My truck really needed to get its brakes checked. I arrived at 9 only to be told I should have arrived at 8 when they opened. Why have APPOINTMENTS if it's really first come first serve?! People are busy these days and not honoring appointments is bad business. On my first visit they replaced my AC unit for less than I was quoted at other shops. For my most recent visit, they replaced all my engine mounts in less than 2 days because my engine almost fell out of my car on the drive up from San Diego. paid $98 for an assesment of my AC...fair enough....quoted $517.00 to replace a HOSE that costs $148.92 and sits on top of the engine, (my 12 year old could change it) plus they couldn't get the part for at least a week. So took it to LEGIT autos in Hollywood where they filled it up with freon and it's running great. Even if I need the part they said it would take 24 hours to get it. Affordable....I don't think so....Honest.....doesn't look like it....am I missing something here..?? read more

Don't go here. Brought my car in for catalytic converter. Scotty said didn't need one but charged me $800 for super tune up to pass smog test. Car then failed smog test. Brought car back to Scotty, he said now I need new converter and it would be another $800. Didn't offer any deal after I already paid him $800 for nothing. I will not be bringing my car back to Affordable. Don't let this type of highway robbery get you too. read more

This place bites. The owner bites. Rude. His workers were great though. Very kind and accomodating. Came in at 4:35pm. They close at 5. Im like, cool i made it! Guys told me to ask manager/owner if he'd take my car for an oil change, n i waited for him to talk on the phone for 10min. He comes out and says no. Give me a freakin break. I rush out of work to get here. I made it before 5. If you dont take people in because its "almost 5pm", tell people you close at 430pm. My job closes at 430pm. We take people in until 430pm. Came right next door to jiffy lube. They couldnt be any nicer! Even gave me a discount! Only paid 53 bux for my Land Rover for an oil change, battery terminal cleaning, antifreeze, air in tires, and new brake lights. Gooo to jiffy lube! read more

This had to be the worst experience with a mechanic. And I have owned an automobile for more than 30 years. First off, I had an appointment at 10am and when I arrived they said they wouldn't be able to look at my car until the end of the day because they "got real busy". So I came back later that day and dropped the car off, 5pm passes and I have not heard anything so I call them and their response was "I thought someone got back to you already". So customer service was horrible, as far as the auto repair I wouldn't let them touch my car since they told me I basically needed a new transmission, when in fact I had already ran the codes before showing up and knew all I needed was a new gasket to fix a leak since I was getting a P0218 code. Ended up going to the dealer to get it fixed by qualified professionals. Don't bother going to this place, all the bad reviews are true and the good reviews are probably from friends. read more
