Lost oil pressure in my favorite 2000 Chevrolet 4 wheel drive pick up. I have owned it since new. I contacted Jessie at H&M Auto repair to set up an appointment. Very impressed with their yelp ratings. Boy am I glad I did. I was given a few options on how to repair the issue. Turns out that my oil pump went out after 275, 000 miles. I decided to go all in with a Jasper remanufactured engine. I plan on putting another 200,000 miles on it as not impressed with the cost or reliability of the new truck models currently available. Wow what a difference this has made. Truck runs better than when it was new Jessie was spot on with timing and cost to get this done. He delivered as planned and kept me posted on progress. These guys are amazing - dedicated and honest! There was a clicking/rattling sound coming from the rear of the car any time I was on a bumpy road/pot holes/or anything that made the back suspension compress. It was driving me crazy. I took it in to a few different places, including the dealer, and no one was able to figure out what it was. But not here. The team spent who knows how many hours ripping apart/driving my car around trying to figure it out and they did! Turns out it was loose shoes on the emergancy break. DO NOT GO HERE. They trapped me. They got me to go out of my insurance network with the promise of paying 500 of my deductible, and the 20% fee my insurers would charge me for going out of network. They lied. They went back on their word, ( silly me for not getting it in writing) and i was forced to pay 1750, rather than the 500 it would supposed to of cost me. Even going in my insurance network would of cost me max 1000. they held my car and would not release it until I came up with the money. They charged my credit card and told me it didn't go through when it did. they also took cash off me. They were aggressive, frightening and hostile. i have never felt so taken advantage and helpless in my life. PLEASE BE SUPER CAREFUL WHEN USING THIS SHOP. I brought a 2007 Ford Edge in to have the spark plugs replaced, they were suspected of causing a missing/surge when driving the vehicle. Normally I would do this myself, but I just moved out here and don't have a good garage setup or all the right tools out here yet. I met Hector, the manager, and explained the situation. He stated they would hook it up to a scanner, drive it and call me before anything was done. Shortly after I got home, he called and nothing obvious was found, but agreed on the plug replacment as a logical step. He quoted an amount. It was quite a bit of work since you have to take the intake off, and all the air handling pieces to get to the cylinders in the back, next to the firewall since it's a transverse v-6. I agreed to proceed. He pointed out that it would make sense to replace the three coils on the back side, so the intake wouldn't have to be removed again if the coils were the issue, and had two options for coils. I checked the pricing online, and his pricing on the coils was very competitive. I agreed with this approach; replace the three in the back while the top of the intake was off so it wouldn't need to be done a second time later. The next day he called it was done. He had all the old parts for me, and suggested I keep the removed coils in case one of the front coils went bad. Again, a great idea to help minimize the cost. The surging issue was resolved, the plugs were in very bad shape it was obvious from looking at them they had never been changed. The final cost was what I was quoted. Great transaction; solid quote, final cost matched the quote, they did the work like I would have, they saved money where they could. I would highly recommend H and M Auto. I took my Jeep Wrangler to Auto Zone and ran a test, bought the recommended part and made an appointment with H&M to install it. When I showed up for my appointment the guy who seemed like one of owners was nice and very knowledgeable. He said he didn't think it was the intake air temperature sensor that needed replacing that it was probably something with the wiring. He worked quickly and showed me the problem. The wire had somehow detached and broke off. He described stuff to me as he worked, even though I'm pretty much clueless about auto repair and engines and sensors and all that kind of stuff, he still tried. He reconnected the wires and replaced the part I bought at my request even though the other piece was clearly not broken. I recommend just coming here and letting the guys figure out the problem instead of trying to cut corners and save money like I tried to do, because ultimately I bought something I didn't need. After my appointment my Jeep drives smoothly and he refused to let me pay saying just come back again later. I mean honestly he was out in the sun for over an hour and I had a hard time driving away I was practically begging him to let me pay. One things for sure I just found my new mechanic and highly recommend him especially to other women who are scared to get scammed. This guy is knowledgeable, honest and fast. Hector and Marcel were recommended to me by my friend who is incredibly particular about his automotive work, as they are who he has his mothers car worked on by. I've gone there regularly and they've helped me keep my older, cheaper cars running well, and have always worked with me to keep it within my budget etc. But you can truly tell who a shop is when something goes wrong. My fathers car had a power steering pump go out, and after a day in the shop, it was fixed. When the same symptoms started showing up a week later, I dropped it off at the shop, meaning to call in in the morning. What happened instead was they called me, let me know that the pump was defective, apologized for the bad part, and told me they were replacing it free of charge, both parts and labor, and it will be ready immediately. This is what we should all expect, but I find it so rare in todays world. I HIGHLY recommend H&M for their skill, their ability to work with my budget, but especially for their integrity, kindness and professionalism. Sadly, I had a bad experience at this place. Took my car in because my air conditioning stopped working. After taking a look, they told me it just needed servicing $58 - I said ok - but 10 min. Later they said it was the compressor and they would have to price it out. I sat in the waiting area for 35 min. - until I had to leave to keep an appt. I left my cell number and they said they would call me - never happened, no call. I also had a window that wasn't working and they gave me an estimate of $325 to repair. I had it fixed for $75 at another shop. Will never go back. Not honest people. read more
