High-Tech Car Care is the real deal! I came in completely frustrated after hearing a mysterious clicking sound in my car that no one could seem to figure out. The team at High-Tech Car Care took me seriously from the moment I walked in. They listened patiently, spent time just trying to hear the sound so they could properly fix it. They even came on a short drive with me so I could point out the sound so they could hear it themselves. Even though the noise was subtle and hard to catch, they didn't give up. Eventually, they discovered a loose screw under my hood somewhere---likely left behind from a previous service at the dealership. They fixed it on the spot, and here's the amazing part: they didn't charge me a thing. For years, I had seen this business at its current location, but I never went there as our vehicles were typically serviced at dealerships. Good or bad decision, it is what we had done for years. That was, until I had an issue with my pickup that the dealership could not solve after three visits. Hang on for a long review. I developed a leak in my pickup which somewhat appeared to be transmission fluid (I was looking at stains on the ground), and I took it to the dealership to have it repaired. After the dealer kept it all day, the problem could not be found, and the truck was returned to me. Fast forward to two additional visits for the same thing, the result were the same. The leak was not found. Upon the recommendation of a friend, I stopped by High Tech to discuss my problem, showed them photos of the stains on a drip pan, and I was invited to bring my truck to them. Long story short, I did, and the leak was found and repaired within a couple of hours. In my mind, I found a new mechanic. Oh, it wasn't an ATF leak...it was coolant that got dirty when it ran down the dirty framework, but that's a different story. Since then, which was a few years ago, my pickup has gone to High Tech for service, and I couldn't be happier. Friendly staff, professional, knowledgeable, and diligent about their work. My wife was still taking her vehicle to a different dealership than I used, but we started taking her old car to them, and they dealt with it for a couple visits. So, where are we now? My pickup just went in for what I hoped was an oil change, but other issues were identified during a vehicle inspection. I wasn't excited about having to do more work, but it is what it is. And part of that work was a radiator replacement. I'll save the long story, the radiator had to be redone due to a faulty part (not on High Tech's behalf), and it was replaced right away under part warranty issues. No questions, no headache, just the work being done. My wife has a new vehicle which has a seemingly long oil change interval, but I'm going to take it to High Tech to have them inspect the car and do an intermediate oil change. I trust them that much to deal with the car, even though it's still well under warranty. After that, I'll take it later to the dealer for the factory oil change work. So, all this has been mentioned to share that we've been extremely happy about how we are treated, the work we received, and how we're dealt with as customers. Hello all, I am sending this review based on my experience with High Tech CC.  I was asked by a friend to help go over exactly what their car was diagnosed with at High tech Car care.  My family and I have been involved in the automotive repair business for literally over 6 decades, only not in this area. In a phone conversation with the business owner "Jonathan", inquiring as to what exactly was needed to make the car road worthy and safe, after a routine oil and service was performed. My friend was told by the service rep., "Do Not drive this car, it is unsafe", this a very effective ploy to say to someone unknowing about automotive / workings.  Jonathan was mostly interested in defending claims that they made on why they performed all the excessive repairs vs. only the ones that were truly needed.  This being a difference of about a 500-dollar bill to make things safe to drive, vs. a 3300-dollar bill to perform additional repairs that had nothing to do with the car being safe or unsafe, only creating a very large bill that was NOT necessary (and in actuality, this late model Honda has very few issues and concerns).  High tech car care used "sub-standard non-OEM-rebuilt parts", only, charging for over the price of factory OEM parts, and again, when questioned, (I'd really say Jonathan was feeling threatened by someone that understands repairs, parts and what High tech was really up to)?  Jonathan then went into defensive mode not wanting to listen to what I had to say: Why was the customer not given any options? (I.E. let's make only the necessary repairs at this time, we will then monitor the other items that are in question and not critical at this time). Why High tech car care used "sub-standard non-OEM-rebuilt parts", only they charged over the price of factory OEM parts, and again, when questioned, (I'd really say Jonathan was feeling threatened by someone that understands repairs, parts and what they are really up to)? And, Why would you tell the customer, (My close friend), "I would not drive this car, it's unsafe" without then at least offering the remedy above? Jonathan stated that the work and parts in question were already installed at the time of our conversation, but the car was not complete and ready to be picked up at that time, (parts installed so it was too late for us to stop the process), also stating that My Friend, "signed the estimate", adding, "that's the price"! The reason High tech operates as mentioned above is so that they can basically "fool some people" into believing that if the mentioned repairs are not ALL completed, then the driver will be at risk of catastrophic failure causing harm or worse.  This being a common ploy used by these kinds of shady operations, that works almost every time to an unknowing victim. This  causing over billing for un-needed services, parts and labor.  PLEASE, DO YOURSELF A FAVOR, GO ELSEWHERE, DO NOT SPEND YOUR HARD-EARNED MONEY AT THIS DISHONEST PLACE STATING THEY ARE "FAMILY OWNED", ONLY FORGETTING THE "DISHONEST PART". Recently both my car and my wife's car needed smog checks in order to renew our registrations. I took one of the cars to the place closest to us and it was a fine experience but nothing outstanding. I also had a feeling their prices were a bit high. Later that week when I took the other car in I put a bit more effort into searching around and found High Tech Car Care. They were quick, easy to work with and significantly more affordable. Beyond that they took the time to answer some questions I had about the flex fuel I've seen becoming more available in Simi Valley. Fast forward a few months and it was time for me to get an oil change. I've always taken my car to the dealership but at over 100,000 miles on it it's well out of warrantee and the dealer has always been both hard to make an appointment with and expensive. On a hunch I called High Tech. Turns out they are a first come first serve business and I was able to get in the next day. They changed my oil for literally half the price! Beyond that they were, once again, very professional and personable and took the time to answer my questions about hybrids this time. Even better, while waiting for my car I was able to witness their interactions with a number of customers; unfailingly they were polite, professional and knowledgeable with all of them. I'm actually hesitant to write this recommendation as I already have a possessive desire to keep them a secret. But excellent local companies in Simi deserve at least a shout out and I'm happy to say High Tech was excellent. read more

I went to another place that wanted 133.00 just to look at my back up camera needing replacing on my Dad's car. I called here, spoke to Skylar who gave me a free estimate on the spot! It was time to do a quite a bit of maintenance on my car and this place was recommended to me. I drove about an hour to come here and get all the work I needed done. I got home and noticed I was scraping backing into my driveway and was very frustrated to find that they did not properly attach the skid plate. I had to drive all the way back to them as my skid plate was hanging dragging on the freeway and they had to reattach it. Days later, I noticed it was hanging off again, finally I just took my car into the dealer to get it fixed. On top of that, I paid for them to add Freon in and the air is still blowing warm air. Would not recommend them, especially for $700. read more

SO i brought my truck here as i had an AC problem. This place was able to fix it same day. This is a young and efficient place to say the least. The quality and service can't be beat and the princes are reasonable. I have brought my wife's car here and they were able to fix it in an hour even though they were slammed. I have also had my sons car repaired here as well and it wasn't a cheap fix, but i did some research on the repair and it was tedious to say the least and its was worth every penny. Again, these guys are not the cheapest, but they are trustworthy and quick with the repairs. These guys are a no nonsense business and that is appreciated as honestly is difficult to find in a mechanic shop, period. Predatory business practices. Around 10 minutes of their work cost me $30 when the car was not ready and they want me to pay another $30 for a retest. They told me that the monitors were not ready. I asked why I was charged if the monitors were not ready and they said I would not have been charged if they had checked the readiness monitors prior to doing the smog check. I asked why they didn't check the readiness monitors first and they said they only do that if the customer asks. The average customer would not know to ask this question. Also, based on reviews from other customers, they've done this before to exploit the customers lack of knowledge. Their statement of "We pride ourself in our relationships with our customers, putting people before profit" is not true. read more

I took our '16 Tucson to High Tech Car Care because I knew what was needed for a 100K tune up and brake job but did not have the time to do it myself. They gave me a reasonable price up front and stuck to that price. No surprises. They were professional, accommodating, and didn't up-sell me anything the car didn't truly need. I was happy with the overall speed at which the job was performed. I was even able to run over on my 1/2 hour lunch to pick up the car when it was finished and settle the bill and still have a few minutes left on lunch. Talk about customer service! 08 gmc ran into transmission problems had the truck towed there early in the morning. Jonathan contacted me promptly and gave me the breakdown of the issues. The repair was handled rapidly in a very professional manner. They have attitude problems, This was my second time there. I like their work but they need to work in their customer service, their hour are not the best, and finally managed to work my schedule around their schedule, took my car for an alignment and they were supposed to call me when done, they never called so I decided to drive there to find out if my car was ready, got there at 5:35pm and everyone is gone, now I had to wait for next day to pickup my car and be late for work.
