This fall, my husband's car decided it no longer wanted to work. I was looking for a flatbed to tow my dad's racecar to my house. It was short notice and I wasn't sure what information a towing company would need to help make it happen. Albert asked all the right questions and help me get the car prepped so that it was completely protected from any possible damage. He was so helpful, kind, and efficient, and was genuinely curious about the car itself (a 1982 Alfa Romeo Spider Veloce, set up as an ITB SCCA club racing car). From loading to delivery it took probably less than an hour (on a Saturday morning, no less!), and he made sure the car was well situated in our sloped, narrow driveway before calling the job done. We needed to jumpstart the battery in our diesel van. It needed a stronger charge than jumper cables or a standard charger. Affordable towing was $15 less than the other estimate we received. I didn't catch the name of the guy who came to jumpstart our battery (Albert?) but he was a delight. He arrived in 20 minutes (1 hour plus is standard for AAA). He was friendly and cheerful. We had a fun conversation about fixing up camper vans (he has one too) and he gave us good information about how often to run our van so the battery and moving parts stayed in good condition. read more

I called Affordable towing and they were at my doorstep in 15 minutes and I didn't have to do anything. Two cars were clogging the driveway entrance and the driver back right in. I had just sent another company packing because they were jerks. The driver put the truck in the perfect spot and asked if I could help him turn the wheel. After my auto insurance company's roadside assistance utterly failed to get me a tow in a timely manner (3 hour wait!) for a bad flat tire I called Affordable Auto Towing. Albert was amazing. Dead battery and so I called these guys. A good decision on my part. Al was there in a matter of minutes and my car was running in no time and at a little lower price than the other places I called. The biggest plus by far was Al's sunny disposition. Friendly and happy throughout the whole thing, his attitude brightened my already un-bright mood to start the day with a dead battery and places to go. Also, instead of me having to pay a fee for using a credit card, Al drove me over to a ATM machine to get cash and save me a little more money. Having a car that won't start is pretty high up there on the "things I would rather not be dealing with" list, but such is life. I called Affordable Auto Towing this morning at 8 am, and Albert was at my house by 8:30. He was efficient, polite, and skillful in his work. I was most impressed by the way he took time to wrap a rag around the hooks that he used to secure my car's wheels, so as to not scratch the rims (it's a '97 Civic, so it's not a real looker, but I appreciated the gesture anyway). AND THEN he went so far as to give me a discount! I can't say I hope to need a tow again any time soon, but I'll definitely call Affordable Auto Towing again if I do. read more

Let me preface this by saying that I rarely leave reviews, and before this morning, I didn't imagine I'd be leaving one for a towing company. All that to say, I had such a positive experience with Albert today. He was quick to arrive, friendly, thoughtful, knowledgeable, and went out of his way to help get my car to a repair shop. My car problems started off with every male friend I know telling me what they thought was wrong with my car. While my car was still running I had it diagnosed but didn't quite have the extra $200 to replace the starter right then and of course all my male friends had said, "oh what a easy fix, I can replace that in a hour and for half the price." So three friends down and the last one standing six and a half hours later, I needn't say more since I'm writing a tow truck review, right? So at this point arching the starter wasn't working either, just for your info. So I have no AAA and now very limited cash flow thanx to my friends and dauntingly looking at all of the towing listings in the yellow pages, WOW! A percursor, I only need to tow my car 2.25 miles from my house and with the prices I was being quoted for just hooking my cae up I was thinking I might just push it myself. I called about 8 places and they all wanted between $50-$80 just to hook-up the car to the tow truck. For actually moving the car most places wanted a minimum $30 and up charge for the first 3 miles. I was quoted anywhere from $80 to $125 to go the 2 miles I needed, utterly ridiculous. I called one last place that stated "AFFORDABLE AUTO TOWING" and to my amazement he wasn't kidding. I can't remember his name, but the man who answered was very polite, asked me where I was and where I needed to go and quoted me $55. I asked if that was just to hook me up and he said, "no that's the whole charge $55 and I can be to your house in 30 minutes." I was pleasantly surprised by the cost and especially when he showed up in 20 minutes with a FLATBED truck. He had me hooked up and ready to go in under 10 minutes and I was carefully towed to the "REAL MECHANIC" 15 minutes later. I'm sure if you needed to go further than the 2-3 miles that I went the charge might be a bit more I wasn't exactly clear on that, but I know he kept repeating the $55 towing price when I was asking him. When I told him the prices other towing companies were charging he was surprised. All in all my towing experience with AFFORDABLE AUTO TOWING was a great one and if I ever need a tow again I will definently be calling. read more
