We will never take our Fleet vehicles here again. Both worktrucks that we had last servicex here had to have the brakes done somewhere else. Due to continued squeaking after & bolts missing from the calipers. The other truck that was corrected had a caliper bolt wasn't even tightened. If you're the type of person who does a ton of research and reads reviews and are looking to get some work done on your vehicle, save yourself some time and read this review. I know it's long but it should give you a sense of what this place really is. Last week I purchased a used Ram 1500 that needed new brakes, tires and an alignment. I doubted that I could find somewhere that would be competitively priced that could do it all. But I was going to try. I didn't want to set appointments and drop the vehicle off at several different places. My first goal was to find the right tires and price them. I checked everywhere from Walmart to tire rack. I called every local shop from Reno to Truckee and the lowest I could find them elsewhere was $350 each. I asked that place what they would charge for all of the work and they quoted me $2,500. Which was more than I wanted to spend. Plus they said I'd have to wait till the following week for the tires to come in. Luckily I found Affordable Brakes and Tires on google. I was immediately hopeful because affordability was in the name. Not only did they quote me $750 less than the last place but they told me I could bring the vehicle in that day. All of that was exciting. But what would I be sacrificing going to this shop instead? I read some of the reviews from when the shop had a previous owner and thankfully I didn't let any of the less than positive comments stop me. They far exceeded my expectations and went above and beyond for me. The work was done right and in the time frame I was told. They even had these digital reports I'd never seen at any other shop before. Very fancy. Stephanie and Vanessa were phenomenal. They know their stuff and were very knowledgeable and helpful about some of the other stuff going on with my vehicle that needed to be addressed. And it never felt like an upsell like you experience at every oil change spot. I will definitely be taking all my vehicles here from now on. What more can you ask for in a shop. The best prices! I have been bringing my cars into Affordable for tires and brakes for about 10 years. I returned there today to purchase 4 new tires. After checking out the Big Boys including Costco they couldn't beat the price out the door. Four tires mounted and balanced including old tire disposal with tax $375.00 as was quoted! I knew there was something different when I arrived. I got my quote on the phone from my office. Normally if you need tires and they don't have them in stock they send out for them and thats an additional 30min that I usually don't have. I asked about that and a very accommodating young lady said that I could give a deposit over the phone and they would be there on my arrival. True to her word when I arrived my car was taken in immediately. I also noticed that the lobby was clean and organized. I found out there was new ownership. I met the new Owner, Jorge Zamora. He was a breath of fresh air. Before his arrival I went to Affordable for the prices. But I found even the bathroom was sparkling clean and there was a coffee bar! Before I would walk to McDonald's to use the facilities. Ok it's a garage but I believe there is a lot to be said about a business by its bathroom . Bless their hearts, they were kind about the damage I'd done, and did a thorough go over of everything so I knew what all had issues. I thought that was really cool. I bought tires about 2 years ago. I brought my car in there four different times over three months. Because there is a shaking on my steering wheel and not once did they tell me that My car was out of alignment. The balance was off and now, my two-year-old tires are worn so bad they have to replace them and they will not even prorate them for me even though it's their fault out of those four times not once did they tell me that I needed my car to be aligned or did they tell me that I needed new tires. They also charged me for new tie rods and cam arms and they only put one new cam arm in the back not replacing the other one. See pictures. I thought something was different so I took it to my mechanic and he's the one that showed me that there's one new cam arm I n the back and one original cam arm in the back. Classic bait and switch business. I called and asked for two tires asking if they are in stock and mentioning that I'm looking to get the work done on the spot and not drop off my car. The girl on the phone said come on down at 10:15am saying they are ordered and will be here in 15 min. I show up at 11am and at 11:45 they asked for payment in full. My car is missing it's wheels currently with no indication when or if the work will be done. I fell like my car is kidnapped right now. This place is extremely poor at communicating, not worth saving a few bucks. Next time I'll remember. Hope this helps someone. read more

My mechanic recommended this place. So on Tuesday, June 4th I went to the location to make an appointment. Ruby, the front desk staff, asked me the tire size. I told her I didn't know and she looked at my car to get the size. She told me that it would cost $139 to replace the tires. I told her I wanted to come in on Thursday around 10 a.m. She told me it was first come, first serve. I told her thanks and I would see her Thursday. I arrived around 9:45 and she asked me the same question and I told her I didn't know. She checked and said that it would take a little longer because the tires had to be ordered. I said I was miffed and that she know I was coming. She asked, did you order them? I told her she had never given me the option, otherwise I would have. She said, either you can wait here or you can go somewhere else. I left. I don't recommend them due to the bad customer service Ruby offered me. If you decide to use them anyway, order your tires in advance and don't rely on Ruby to offer anything better. She needs a job in California where bad customer service is common. read more

DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE I took my car here because the engine light was on. The first mechanic erased the data from my car so the second mechanic couldn't get a reading for the engine light. They did some quick work on it and it was done in about an hour or so. I went about my day and not even an hour later the engine light came back on. I took it back and was told it was too late and I would have to take it back early the next day! That was around 12 noon. Needless to say I never came back. I first found this place when I had a noise going on with my breaks and Al thought I didn't follow up with them they still helped me out and took the time to check over what seemed to be making the noise and now I had what I thought to be a starter problem which turned out to be my battery. But long story short they are a really good team , there quick on timing and getting you in with the help you need as well as communication was not a problem at all there all great in there and I don't know the name of the lady that helped me but she was the sweetest and helped me out in a real tough time financially and getting it taken care of within a more than reasonable time frame , would definitely recommend them and will be returning in the future if need be read more

Bad business ethics. Advise you choose a more reputable tire service company like Les Schwab or Goodyear etc. I went to this shop because they were one of just a couple that have the equipment to work on tires that are mounted on 24" rims. I went in to have tires I purchased online mounted and have my vehicle aligned. The first employee I dealt with had zero customer service training, rather than calling me by my name he simply would nod at me as If I was his "homie". He said that they would be able to get the services I needed done by close of business. An hour and a half passed and I decide to ask if they knew an approximate time my vehicle would be done. This employee stayed they would be able to align but not mount and balance new tires. I stated that was not going to work as my tires were in bad shape and aligning it would be a waste. He then stated they would get it done. Another hour and half passed and I was told they mounted tires but had no time to align. Three hours of my day gone, no communication from employees, and this is during street vibes when I had events to participate in. My faith was restored when Gabe the manager I assume, apologized for the inconvenience and asked me to come in Saturday morning at 8 sharp for an alignment on the house. I agreed and Saturday the alignment was completed and I left feeling better until Sunday morning when I came out to find my new tire in the rear flat. Upon inspection I noticed the rim was bent and not holding a seal. My rim was not bent prior to this nor did the shop make any notation of a rim defect. Monday morning I returned to this shop to discuss a remedy and was originally told by Gabe that they would remount and balance tire to attempt to solve the problem, at which point I said I would return in 30 mins. Upon returning Gabe stated I would have to pay for the fix! I was dumbfounded to say the least. I mentioned a lawsuit and you can guess where it went from there. Now I'm stuck replacing a 24" Boss wheel which is not cheap. I'm fairly new to the area from Sacramento and I will never do business with these folks again. I'm going to stop here and save the rest for a court hearing but again will urge everyone if you are in need of tire or brake service go anywhere In the greater Reno NV area other than Affordable brakes and tires plus. read more

After calling all around town for a couple of used tires this is where I ended up. My experience doing business with them was fantastic. This is gonna be my go-to here in Reno. More than that and most of all. I witnessed first hand their customer service going above and beyond with an older lady in her golden years. They installed the wrong size tires on my car. Didn't tell me until after the tires were installed, AND they even waited until after I paid before they told me the tires were the wrong size. It grinds my gears because when I first walked in, I gave her my tire size and asked if they had four tires that size. She went around back and pretended to check and see if they have the right size. I took my van in to find out what was wrong with it. They said it was the fuel pump. I kinda had an idea that was the issue. They did a great job as usual. Got the brakes and rotors done and they're fine so far. They said the car vibrated when it took off and stopped so we needed to get something else replaced soon but we've never felt anything. When I got my car back it looked ransacked. Everything from the center console was pulled out and half the stuff from the glove box. Thankfully we never keep anything valuable in there otherwise it'd probably be gone. There was no reason whatsoever to go through our stuff.
