Customer service. Our daughter was not aware of how to navigate in the automotive world, and her tire light was on, so we sent her to Big O hoping to get a fair shake. The gentleman found that the passenger rear tire was low and needed air, so he put air, then he said you may have something in the tire. Then she said, "how will I know? And he said your light will come on again,without ever checking her tire to see if there is anything in it. And when I called and spoke to Robert , he basically told me it's our daughter's fault for not knowing what she's doing. I say to Robert, shame on you. We sent our daughter to the experts. This was my first time going to this Big O location and it will not be my last. I ran into an issue with the Tires Plus just down the road with a routine oil check and full car inspection. During that inspection Tires Plus broke my radiator cap which caused my car to leak all my fluid. I didn't notice for about a week and while driving to work my service lights turned on. I did not have an appointment but the manager Rick told me to bring it down and they would take care of it. I was pretty desperate at this point and Big O could have sold me on almost anything to get my car fixed. Instead Rick called me with the good news that it was a $20 part plus labor. I was expecting a minimum of 500+ to fix this. If they did not take advantage of me in this scenario they never would. I appreciate Ricks professional demeanor and service that was provided. This level of customer service deserves no business in Reno. We brought a car in for squeaky brakes and a bad headlight when we left the brakes were squeaking and the headlight didn't work and we paid $700 Upon returning we were told that the other set of brakes needed to be replaced now and that the headlight had a different issue.... while trying to resolve this issue the manager threaten to call the police.. In what world would that require the police? The manager Rick was so defensive. He wouldn't give an explanation as to how this service would be fair. He lied. He got defensive and he threatened us with the police all in a matter of three minutes. Stay away from this shop, I took my car here for a simple oil change. You know routine maintenance on my vehicle got a call my car was done and ready to pickup. Paid $102 for a simple oil change. When I went to start my car to leave it would hold the idle, kept dying off. Rick comes to ask what's wrong I said it's not holding, keep dying off. After poking around under my hood he says well I don't know what happened but we can diagnose to see what's happening but I'll have to charge you. At this point I'm mad!!! My car was running fine nothing wrong when I brought it in for a simple oil change and now it doesn't work. Rick said himself my car was running fine. I ended up having AAA tow my car to my house. Everything in my engine was new (I have all the receipts for it) and installed by a certified master mechanic. He took a look and stated I needed to replace my crankshaft position sensor ( which was just a month or so old) mind you my car was running fine absolutely no issues, no check engine lights, no issues with the battery etc before my scheduled oil change. read more

It's very difficult for a girl to find a car shop that wouldn't rip her off because admittedly, I am the stereotypical girl who's car knowledge extends only as far as knowing how to drive it (and sometimes I can barely do that); so when I found Big O Tires on Kietzke Lane, I thanked my lucky stars because manager Rick Loveless and his crew are not only dependable, friendly professionals, they don't take advantage. I don't know how many times I've gone there for an oil change and asked them to check other things about the car. When they do, they tell me if I need additional service but more often than not, they tell me when I don't need a particular service. I went into Big O Tires expecting basic service. A headlight replacement and brake repair. I paid for both. I left with neither fixed. When I asked about it, the manager Rick did not just brush me off. He raised his voice at me. As a woman walking into a shop alone, I wanted to feel safe and respected. Instead, I felt completely taken advantage of. Rick was aggressive, unprofessional, and clearly more focused on selling than actually doing the work or treating people with basic decency. This was not just poor service. It was manipulative, disrespectful, and a complete lack of integrity. I left feeling humiliated and robbed. Unfortunately I came in a day after my appointment but they still helped me out even though they were very busy. I've been a customer at other Big O Tire stores in California so I had confidence that I would be treated well here. Actually, I was greeted by a mature, seemingly experienced, and very confident gentleman and seemed assured that would continue. We wanted to replace the four tires on our Honda, but wanted two things in particular and made a big point of communicating to him - better gas mileage and a quieter tire. We were prepared to and did pay a premium for this. Unfortunately the ride was just as loud if not louder, and driving away and over the next couple years with proper inflation and service, our mileage dropped overnight by 4.3 miles per gallon and never returned to our previous marks! A series of unfortunate events led me to this amazing Big O Tires and Rick completely saving my family's trip. I had been hiking with my dogs earlier in the morning and I had hit a rock and it split my tire. My friend was distraught because she didn't have the money for a brand new tire. Always straight shooters. Not pushy. Super efficient. I've bought several sets of tires here, and get my oil changed here fairly exclusively, mainly because of the free tire rotations. Since they're on the same intervals, makes for easy record keeping. They're on time for their appointments and pretty quick with all the services. The lobby is nothing to write home about, but there are comfortable chairs and free WiFi too. It's also walking distance to Franktown Corners if you need more. I love Big O Tires! I have been to this 1 and the location on Sutro and both are clean and clear and honest. But Kietzkie is amazing at customer service and consideration! I have a Charger and it is a pain in the butt to get the back turn light pannel off. I did the left 1 last year and it took me hours to figure out on my own. Rick popped it off in about 10 minutes and changed a bulb for me as a bonus service to a tire order...Just because he is awesome :) They also saved me from certain death by catching the drivers front tire rod going before it became a real issue a month or so ago! They are not pushy and try to find ways to help you stay afloat budget wise rather than killing you with costs to help push the business of business. Before I came here I had a credit line with Tires Plus and they sucked...They would get pushy and lie and screw things up on purpose to make you pay more. Well, Tires Plus helped push me to find Big O again and they lost a credit line with me of $3k and this is where I go now. You have choices when it comes to tires or repairs and Big O on Kietzkie is a good choice! Thank you Rick for winning me over again and again! I asked for the manager but was told he would not come out. person at the front desk said they could help. the letter from goodyear stated if they could not resolve for the manager to call. the desk person kept going into the service bay and finally came back to say they would do nothing about the warranty. The best and most honest place I've foung in the area. Small but solid experience. Battery to shocks to tires. The bathroom is beyond immaculate- which says something about these blue collar pros. They do a lot of stuff no charge which brings me back when serious work is needed. *The area is getting increasingly crappy however... they ought to invest in larger and better waiting room. the only reason they get 1 star is because I can't put a minus. They changed my oil & didn't reset the oil change button. it came on 100 miles after oil change took it back, said they fixed it & the next day came on again. called & the guy on the phone was very rude & told me it was mechanical problem, this was the first oil change for my car. so I took it to the dealer, They fixed it in 5 minutes, haven't had a problem since.
