I wanted to give 5 stars but, starts out 4/5 days I make appointment to drop off due to my lifestyle when my suburban is in the shop I've got to rent a motel room & a vehicle. So I'm trying to relate this on the highest level anytime spent needs to be beneficial to MY needs making a appointment that's a huge start + I had psid 2/3rds before picking up my Suburban, the first week went by and my truck sat collecting over spray ( just kidding no overspray) 11 days later $2,000 + on a motel room for those 11days & $1000 for a rental vehicle =$3,000 that's like 3/4 of what I paid for the work. When I picked up the truck, their were parts that had not b n delivered, were to have b n on their way I was told a day or two ... nothing yet it's b n a couple weeks, not even a check in ? Also their are two spots where they worked that are just not acceptable!!!! I worked real hard for my money, im just tired of paying to ppl who have zero respect for me !!! read more

The owner/operator of this shop, Diego, is indeed one of the nicest and most cordial service providers you will ever meet. He is a guy you would love to have as your next door neighbor. When Diego was not available in the front office David (who is actually one of the skilled shop crew doing the repairs) was very helpful as well. But what about the quality of work and the price? I came here to get a door ding on the front side panel of my car repaired and painted. I went to a few places prior for estimates and this was by far cheaper than all the rest. The guy running the front told me if it wasn't the cheapest they would match any other estimate price. I had really high hopes for this place by the reviews it received here on yelp and even told the guy I was impressed they had all 5 star reviews. The guy at the front desk told me if I had my car in by 9am the next day it would be done no later than 6pm the same day! I put down my deposit and set up the appointment. One thing I wasn't happy about at this point was that they tried to charge me 25 dollars to put the deposit on a credit card when they have no signs or notifications stating they charge a fee to use a credit card only a sign saying they accept them as form of payment! The guy decided to waive the fee after I told him I will just drop the car off and take my chances of them being able to work on it that day. The next day I dropped my car off by 9am. By 6pm I waited for them to call me. The guy said they sometimes run late and stay later to finish up so I gave them until 6:30pm. By then I was a bit irritated no one had called me to let me know any status on my car so I tried to call them for 15 mins straight. No answer. Left voicemails, no call back. So then I decided to go down there and see what was going on. The guy who manages the front had already gone home but I could hear someone working in the back so decided to wait for this person to come out. Finally he did. I told him I was very upset that they didn't have the common courtesy to call me and tell me my car wasn't finished. He apologized and said it was a communication problem between him and the guy running the front and told me the car had just been painted and wouldn't be ready until the next day. His apology was very sincere and I felt I didn't want to rush a paint job so I told him just to call me when the car was ready to be picked up. The next day I waited for the call it never came! When I did decide just to call them the car was actually finished. When I picked up the car the guy running the front had a complete attitude with me as if I had gotten him in trouble. He was so rude to me and his apology to me was very fake. When I went to use my credit card to pay the rest of the amount he tried to charge me the extra 25 dollars again. At that point I was just annoyed of this whole place and the shadiness I felt by them! I would not recommend coming here! I feel you get what you pay for here! The paint job was decent but they didn't take the panel off to be painted and thus it got paint on the plastic exterior of the car and also on the front headlight of the car. Needless to say I wrote them a check so I wouldn't have to pay the fee that sounded like something they make up as they go to get more money and told myself I'll never come back! The only reason I gave them 2 STARS is because I did receive a sincere apology from the guy painting the cars who works in the back if I hadn't I would have given them 1 STAR! read more

My first experience with Affordable was good... as it was only a touch-up and buffing on my Jaguar XK My second visit was not so good... I took in my Discovery 36ft motor-home to have it Clear-Coated to protect and brighten the paint. He did the job in about 4 days which I thought was quite good! My conversations with Diego, the owner, was that I should expect the clear-coat to last at least 3+ years. He even spoke of some jobs lasting 5 years. After less than 2 years the clear-coat is peeling and bubbling. I recently took it to another body shop for evaluation and I was told that it had not been prepared correctly... I was shown dirt under the clear-coat. This was causing the clear-coat to lift and separate in huge blister formations. My third visit was not so good either... I took my classic car in for to have the door fixed and remounted. This part of the job was completed by Diego's uncle who did a good job. To have new seals installed on the doors/hood/trunk/windows/etc then aligned. To then have it shot with "Clear-coat" to protect the original paint which is still on the car. I was assured by Diego that he and his men were more than capable of these tasks and within a time frame he set out, 1 week. It was over 4 weeks before I got the car back. None of the seals were seated correctly, the doors, hood, and trunk were not re-set/aligned as promised. There were runs in the clear-coat too. Diego told me to bring it back in 2 weeks when the clear-coat had set and he would correct and buff the car. I took the car back and left it with him for a couple of days.. when I got it back nothing had been done and was told to bring it back another time. I recently took the motor-home back, at Diego's schedule, to have the clear-coat fixed. I arrived at the appointed 8:30am opening time and had to wait until 9:30am when Diego arrived. When I approached him I was told if I didn't like the way he ran his shop to "go away"! I try to support the local small businesses but this business clearly does not want nor need my business. read more

I took it to 7 or more shops in Camarillo, Oxnard, and Ventura for estimates and Emilio at Affordable Collision offered me the best deal. I heard of Affordable Auto Body through Audio Tint Lab in Ventura who did my windows I asked Dustin I was looking for a good auto body they told me about Affordable Auto Body down the street. My 2008 Mini Cooper S had some damage due to bird poop on the hood also a couple of dings due to a shopping cart at parking lot. My insurance paid for the damage, Diego the owner at Affordable said that he could do the work at that price which I checked other places which was much higher. Though it was over 200 miles from where I live in San Luis Obispo, CA it was still worth it. I left my car with them & had it back in few days. I had a little problem with the hood that they needed to fix Diego stood behind his work & word which is hard to find these days. He completely repainted the hood with no cost other than traveling which I took Amtrak for a nice scenic ride from San Luis. Diego met me at the train station with my car I looked it over it a great job done. Deigo has been in business for many years & knows his stuff. I highly recommend you give them a try. read more

I am very dissatisfied with this shop. My car was in an accident Dec.28 and I was told the repairs were nothing big. My insurance issued them to do the repairs more than a month ago and it still isn't done because they are waiting on the parts. I have extinguished my insurance funds for car rentals and it is now coming out of my pocket. The people who wrote positive things about this place must have been related.
