After moving into our new home, we struggled for months to find a flooring company to take on the job on literally new flooring in the entire house! We spoke with about six different companies, all who came and measured and never returned. We were recommended to Affordable Floors. They came out immediately to measure. Invited us to the showroom to pick out flooring. Came out to measure a second time and we placed the order. They crew arrived ready to work and finished the job in one day. We recently moved to the Roselle area and happened to stumble across Affordable Floors and couldn't be any happier that we did. The store itself has a great selection of flooring and carpeting fitting all budgets and doesn't come across as overwhelming as some of the larger flooring stores. More importantly, our sales associate, Ryan, was the major selling point for us. He truly is a connoisseur of flooring. He introduced himself and encouraged us to take our time to look around and held back until we had an idea of what we liked. He listened patiently as we described our home and how we were looking to update it and what our budget parameters were. To say he is a well of information is an understatement. He was fully knowledgeable on the flooring we selected and was able to make recommendations on other flooring options that made sense (i.e. heavy traffic area, owning a pet and having a toddler) which we ultimately went with. We have used Affordable Floors for flooring and carpeting with wonderful results. They did oak flooring in our kitchen and refinished all of our wood throughout the house and it looks great! I had Affordable Floors install a bamboo floor on a slab in my family room last June (2013). About Aug 2013 two boards buckled up approx. 2 inches. They came and replaced the boards, they said I had a moisture problem, run a dehumidifier. About Oct 2013 two different boards buckled, they said they are not going to repair the floor its my problem, again moisture. When I investigated the manufactures installation instructions they clearly state the installer must check the slab for moisture and seal the slab or use moisture blocking adhesive. I asked if the slab was checked for moisture and what the readings where, we don't have that information, was a moisture blocking adhesive used, the response was, I'm not arguing with you about this any longer, Its your problem. I borrowed a dehumidifier and ran it continually for two weeks and did not extract any moisture at all. Also, we have forced hot air heat with no humidifier and central air. We also have hardwood flooring in the living room and dining room, no problems. I also looked at some of the flooring associations They all say use a moisture barrier. I now have to replace the whole floor at an additional cost of over $3000. The new floor installers indicate that its a shame the floor was not installed properly, whenever they install a wood or bamboo floor on a slab they always put down an epoxy sealer and a moisture blocking adhesive. I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone. I submitted a complaint to the BBB they responded that the moisture is my problem BBB complaint listed as unresolved. So, my only recourse is to post reviews, and file a NJ consumer affairs complaint. read more

I was overcharged $800 (around 200 square feet of extra carpet) on a carpet install because the salesman measured wrong. I'll take part of the blame for not catching it at the time of signing the proposal but what really bothers me is they never left the extra carpet that I was overcharged for. Spoke to the owner Keith and agreed to split the cost so I ended up paying an extra $400 instead of $800. I only agreed to paying it because I knew they had a signed contract that would be hard to dispute but feel they should have only charged me what they actually used and installed. Their quality is good and workmanship is good so just don't make the same mistake I did and be sure to get multiple quotes to make sure your getting a correct quote. read more

Horrible customer service. Scheduled a measure (with a non-refundanble $50 deposit), waited for the person to arrive, when they did not, called three times and couldn't get anyone. Was told by Ryan "I called but you didn't answer." I had stepped away from my phone, but there was no message. "Well, if I were expecting someone I would answer the phone." Not only was this completely unprofessional, it was now MY fault. "If I were making a business call, I would leave a message." His reply was, "Well I had another customer to get to." He then went on to say he could come back out today, but then retracted that bc he is the only one in the store. When asked if I could have my deposit back, I was told to call back tomorrow and get a manager. I now see this is typical of this company, from online reviews (I trusted the Shaw Floors page when finding this place, and shouldn't have), and am glad I am avoiding a full hassle, if this is how they conduct their business. Even a simple, "I'm so sorry," and an acceptance of some level of culpability would have gone a long way. Instead, it was my fault, and he seemed uninterested in helping fix the problem. read more

The sales person Trevor was excellent, he was very professional and timely since he came to my home to measure my staircase for carpet. The install was totally unacceptable and certainly not customer friendly. There was no communication to me that the service person would not be at my home as promised at 9am. I left a message with the store at 9:30 , knowing that the store did not open till 10am. I called back at 10:30 only to find out it would be another hour before this person would arrive. I had to reschedule since I also have appointments to keep. Would not recommend or use this company again. read more
