At that exact time, I was getting ready to call and cancel because I had already troubleshooted the issue myself and confirmed my system was working normally, so the service was no longer needed. When I originally called, the only fee mentioned was a $120 diagnostic fee. There was no mention whatsoever of a no-show fee or a travel fee. Now they are trying to force me to pay a $59 travel fee, even though the technician arrived before the scheduled appointment time. To make matters worse, this fee was not explained to me until after they had already shown up. Completely unprofessional and misleading business practices.

TL;DR: they refused service to long-time clients because we had the audacity to ask for a measly…read more$200 off their HVAC bid. Clients of theirs for years, no complaints. When we needed a new HVAC, we got an estimate from Frederick that was $1000+ over the estimate from another long-time, reputable local company. But out of loyalty to Frederick, we politely asked if they would shave $200 off to come *slightly* closer to this other quote. We actually hate haggling, but had read that you're expected to, for new HVAC. Can't hurt, right? They responded. Had they just said, "No, that's not possible due to XYZ," we would have hired them and paid the full price. But instead the rep explained why it wasn't possible, and then, in a polite but insulted tone, *rescinded their bid*, essentially telling us they would not be doing the job either way. All over a request for $200 off a $7000 job. We were stunned. Needless to say, we haven't called them for anything since, and we're the kind of easy-going, non-complaining customers contractors usually like to have. We got our HVAC at the other place and it's running fine, a few years later. Owner, if you're reading this: I get that you're doing well enough that you don't need to accept anyone's attempt to haggle, and can charge a lot more than the competition. Good for you. I'm purposefully not giving you a 1 star because I don't believe in trying to hurt someone's business. But talk to your guys about not reacting in a personal way to long-time customers. The reaction we got was really uncalled for. Maybe the guy was having a bad day, but you have to leave that behind when you're interacting with a customer, especially an established one. Bryan came out to our home twice during a snow storm to ensure our heat was taken care of. That is a level of kindness and commitment I have never seen before! We have a brand new HVAC system that is about 1 year old (installed by a big HVAC company - worst mistake we could have made). The unit has stopped working at least 4 times since its installation so I finally called Middletown HVAC yesterday because it stopped working again. I called at midnight and Bryan (HVAC expert) was at our house in less than 30 minutes! He installed a new thermostat and went on to another house for a repair. Mind you, a snow storm is coming and he was out repairing units for families until almost 2:45am! The next day we realized the new thermostat stopped working, which is indication that something was wrong with our initial HVAC install (done by another company). It is the middle of a snow storm and Bryan had a SNOW PLOW bring him back to our house in the morning to fix the issue. It turns out the prior company incorrectly wired the unit and the thermostat was frying itself. Bryan ordered the new part we needed, fixed the wiring issue and turned off the fuse to the HVAC to avoid a potential fire. He was so kind and explained every step of the repair and the issues he identified. Other companies said they couldn't send techs out for several days but Middletown HVAC had Bryan out twice in the snow! I honestly feel like they care for their customers' homes as if their own families lived there, which is such a rare thing to see!

They quoted me $125 while everyone else had tossed $200-300 ballpark. We scheduled on my few days off so none of us would have to rush through this maintenance. I texted to confirm whether they were still coming down 24 hours prior to our appointment. No response. So I texted them again the same day to make sure he was still coming down. He finally responded and apologize. Then told me he'll be there in the afternoon. Mind you, we are a little further from each other but if the distance was a problem, he could've told me and I would've went with other options but again, the schedule was set. So I was already expecting him. It was starting to get late and still nothing back yet, so I texted again and ask if he would like to reschedule? He finally got back and said yes to rescheduling so since he seems busy, I told him to get back to me at his earliest convenience. It's now February 10th. Our date was January 26th. I still haven't heard from him yet. Not only did I feel like this was a bad tinder date, now the problem that I had with my water heater just became worst. The issue was a burnt smell from the water heater that requires a professional flushing. Now so it's prolonged some more, the heater has burnt right through. It went from a flushing to a whole replacement. I'm giving them one star for flaking out. Should've been more straight forward about not wanting to take the job because my $200-300 maintenance issue just sky rocket into well over $1000. Edit: It looks like the owner has responded and no, I'm not changing my review because there was a scheduling problem. I gave the company the right of way to give me a date because they seem like the busy one and I told them my complete date. I was waiting for them to get back to me about the date. When I hand a job to someone, I'm not going to look around until the company calls me and say that they cannot take the job. I was under the impression that they were still coming around. I have text messages that provide my communication process and the companies responsiveness. I'm not going to show it or anything because it's unprofessional. What else I find unprofessional is when a company text you after you wrote the review with a snarky tone, like I was the one who did something wrong. I'm definitely not recommending this company because if you give a little feedback, they make it seem like you were the problem. No thanks. Again, sorry maybe we were just not meant to work together but just take my feedback as something that you need improvement on. I'm the customer that you kept waiting. Not the other way around.
