My heart was broken to see my tree infected with Ganoderma sessile, which means having "shiny or lustrous skin"; sessile means "sessile" referring to the absence of a stem. After speaking with the city, and two ISA certified arborists, the tree was fully withered and already in decay, it needs to be removed before it becomes too dry and brittle to remove and a danger to the surrounding properties. This tree swallowed several objects over the last 90+ years, including bricks and a metal pole. Three quotations were obtained, and all three service providers pointed out the obstruction and challenges there are. The owner Carlos and I signed the contract when he visited the tree, he looks young but from our conversation after discussing it with ISA certified arborist, I can tell he's a pro. As a matter of fact, he's up on the tree doing the actual work. First of all, tree removal can be done in at least three ways. 1. Tree and root removal 2. Tree and stump grind 3. Tree, no stump grind Some people suggest root removal of trees is necessary, however first option isn't practical to quote for a tree this close to the residential house where the roots are at least 5-10 feet under. In the commercial space, removing tree and it's roots will likely be done when the foundation of the property will be built from the ground up. The second option is to perform a stump grind inches into the ground after removing the final trunk. This is a very messy, time-consuming job for the crew but well worth doing. My place was storming and snowing with wood chips, and the team did an excellent clean up. The third option, the job is complete when the tree is cut above ground level, let it be a table that will further decay in it's place. To be honest, real estate space is too scarce to leave the stump there indefinitely and see it decay. Carlos work is an art. The pre-planning for each cut has to be perfectly executed, or else the trunk would end up on the roof of my house. There's a lot of physics involved in cutting the upper trunk, each section to be removed is roped the lower trunk, and the trunk swings like a pendulum until it is in rest position before the rope drops lower toward the ground. It's the right thing to do as they are trying hard to make a living. I did hire one of the Landscapers to prune my fruit trees in my back yard. I hired New Life Landscape, Jose. I wanted to hire Johnny at Valley Tree Service, but there was confusion with this company. I worked with John for 2-3 days, and when I decided to hire him, I could not get a hold of him, and i was not hearing from him. I texted him, and tried calling, but his phone was full, and not accepting calls. So I did a review on this, and upset Johnny, it was not a nice review, as he was telling me he was on a job, and had no cell service where he was at. I've accepted this explanation, and can see how this could happen so I edited my review, and gave him a nice review. Johnny is a super nice person, and would do a great job for anyone. I do not want to harm any of these people or their companies.All the companies you sent my way, I pretty much interviewed them for the job. And they were all very nice. Jose was above reproach. So polite, and trying hard to build his company. He has a family, and needs the money. So I think he will do a great job for me and my husband.
