Curry Chicken white rice mac&cheese cabbage

Unseasoned Jamaican Food.. The rice had flavor.. The cabbage had no taste and the curry chicken wasn't Spicy at all.. The service was Great..

Oxtails Plantains and Cabbage
Glenda B.

I knew my daughter was at the Curb Market so I asked her to bring me something to eat. She decided to stop at this place and pick me up some oxtails. The platter was oxtails rice and peas and cabbage. Although I've had a lot of oxtail planters in Atlanta this one was different. The taste of the oxtails, the gravy, the peas and the cabbage were totally on point. The oxtails were tender but not overcooked. The flavor was very good. I have to say the rice and peas were completely cooked but not mushy. Many times when you get these platters either the rice is crunchy or the peas are crunchy. The only thing I would have wanted is more gravy. They definitely had a good flavor. Finally someone knows how to cook cabbage. Either is too much or has no flavor in other places. This place cooked it just right. I don't know how much the planter calls exactly but I think my daughter said around $13. This price is kind of unheard of right now in Atlanta. Inflation has got the best of the food in the street and we as patrons understand but it's always nice to see a business kind of work with their customers. I would definitely return to get more and to try something different. Give this business a shot whenever you at the Curb Market.

Curry goat with Mac and cheese and spinach

Great restaurant with decent portions. I'd love to see a bigger menu variety of beef options, nor just chicken and goat. The goat meals were good though, including the curry goat and stewed goat which was a bit spicy. No mild beef patties available, only spicy but my daughter enjoyed it anyway. Will return when I'm in the Auburm Ave area.

Oxtail and plantains

First time visiting Atlanta and decided to stop into the Sweet Auburn Market (who can resist a name like that? ). Afrodish seemed most popular so I figured I was good and it did not disappoint. The guy in front of me went on about their plantains so I decided to try even though that would not normally be my choice for a side. the plantains dipped into the oxtail gravy was heavenly.

So happy I found this gem at the Sweet Auburn market. This will appeal to any West Indian and African inspired dishes you may be craving. For just $8 each meal come with a protein, choice of rice(jollof, white or stir fried) and two sides. They are also generous with their portions. This is definitely enough food for two or your next meal of the day! I ordered the jerk chicken, dark meat, with jollof rice, plantains, and black eyed peas. Everything was perfect! The jerk was well seasoned and fell off the bone. The plantains were ripe and sweet and perfect with the beans(like red red). Proprietor was lovely.

Quick, yummy, and hearty! I stopped by Municipal Market (where this place is located) while going apartment hunting and my friends and I walked around before deciding on Afrodish. The portions looked filling (they were!) and prices seemed reasonable (very much so!). I also saw on their site that the owners are a couple who immigrated from Ghana which I thought was a great sign for the authenticity of this Afro-Caribbean cuisine. Here's a rundown on what we got: 1. Patty - I forgot what filling was in it (maybe curry?), but it tasted fresh and packed with flavor! It was only a couple of dollars too, which made for a great side/app. 2. Dark Jerk Chicken - delicious and spiced! The meat was tender and portion was large. My friend got this with rice and beans, which was also delicious and filling. 3. White Curry Chicken - HUGE chicken pieces with a creamy sauce that they poured on my friend's Cajun rice. The Cajun rice was a little spicy. 4. Escovitch Fish - this fish was made to order (took 10 minutes) and I got it because I've never tried fish cooked this way. I liked it! They give you the entire fish, bones and all, topped with peppers. I thought the skin could have been crispier but overall it tasted fine and really challenged my bone-picking skills (haha!). I don't think I would get it again just because every time I thought I got all the bones, I would feel another one in my mouth which made it a small hassle to eat, but I think it was definitely worth it for the price (~$10 for the fish combo). 5. All of us got the same sides: Mac n cheese and plantains. I thought the mac n cheese was a little too salty for my taste (to the point where I had to eat it with my rice), but the plantains were phenomenally oily and chewy on the inside (while being a little crispy on the outside). I absolutely love plantains. The other sides were spinach, mixed vegetables, beans, and the like. Overall, I thought this was a great stop at the Municipal Market/downtown area and had filling portions for the price. Definitely recommended if you're looking for Jamaican food!

Jerk chicken plate with baked beans and plantains

I love this place. I have ordered food here from the past. This was my first time ordering the goat curry meal. The sides of plantains and jolof rice were great as always. Decreasing my rating from 5 to 4 only because I feel the goat was very less had more bones than meat. The curry was great but got completely absorbed by the rice. They should consider keeping it separate. Still a great place for their jerk chicken! Parking is easy and they validate it in the main entrance.

Always taste fresh and good priced. Service is fast and friendly food is high quality

Jerk chicken, plantains, beans & rice

This was one of the best meals I've eaten in a long time. I ordered the jerk chicken (white meat) over beans in rice with a side of baked beans, and plantains. The chicken was deliciously spicy and just fell off the bone so easily. The sauce it was in was a delicious gravy for the rice below. I'm not a huge fan of beans but these I really enjoyed. The plantains were good too. I walked all around this market trying to decide where to have lunch and asked the security guard recommended this particular vendor and I am so glad I ate here. It's a lot of food and under $10.

I found Afrodish in the market and they did not disappoint. I love jerk chicken so I'm willing to try it anywhere and they definitely got the recipe here! 4 stars

Shout out to our waiter. We started with the collard green dip topped with crawfish. At first, I wasn't sure how I felt about the texture, but after a few bites I was hooked. The collard greens held up beautifully, and the crawfish on top was seasoned perfectly. Next, we had the lamb egg roll, and wow. It was filled with tender, juicy stewed lamb, and the sauce served alongside it took it to another level. Every bite was packed with flavor. My sister ordered the coconut curry salmon with coconut rice and couldn't stop talking about how delicious it was. I had the jerk chicken with Haitian rice and collard greens, and honestly, it was one of the best meals I've had in a very long time. Everything was flavorful, well-seasoned, and cooked perfectly. The only downside for us was the drinks. This is where they lost points. We tried one of their signature drinks that resembled a piña colada and didn't care for it. Later, we ordered a lemon drop upstairs and didn't enjoy that either. If I went back, I'd probably just stick with water and focus on the food. After dinner, we headed upstairs to the gallery/lounge area, and that's where the night really took off. The music was amazing, the crowd was fun and welcoming, and we danced all night. The artwork throughout the space is beautiful and adds so much character to the experience. Great food, great atmosphere, great music, and an unforgettable night. Rock Steady gave me my first 10/10 dining experience, and I can't wait to come back.

I placed a to-go order (I wish that I had the time to dine-in), I was starving so I opened my food to take a bite in the car and when I tell you that it was SO GOOD, I went BACK inside just to tell the chef how good it was and how I would be back again soon and would be telling everyone about my experience. The menu said that the meats were marinated, but lots of places say the same thing and only have surface seasoning. I ordered the Stewed Chicken Main and EVERY SINGLE BITE was bursting with flavor and so tender. To say that I am impressed, is an understatement. The place is so beautiful I started planning how I could hold a private party there. My visit to Miss Conduck was like finding a hidden gem and I HIGHLY recommend dining there! (I am not a friend/affiliate just a woman who loves great food, excellent service and ambiance).

We tried calling ahead, but no one answered; fortunately, it wasn't too busy when we arrived, so our tardiness wasn't an issue. There was a DJ playing a nice mix of hip hop and R&B, which set a great vibe. We weren't immediately greeted since no one was at the hostess stand, but someone from the kitchen noticed us right away and seated us. They offered a $28 "Girl Brunch" with a choice of cornbread or deviled eggs, plus either jerk chicken fried rice or croissant French toast with blueberry compote, along with a lemon drop. I chose the deviled eggs and croissant French toast and gave the lemon drop to my friend, opting for a mocktail instead. My friend ordered the cornbread and steak and eggs. We both enjoyed everything. I was pleasantly surprised by the croissant French toast, and the mocktail was just as good as any cocktail.
