    Jerk chicken

Let me start off by saying I love Caribbean food, especially Jamaican. So I was excited to see this place here. I ordered the jerk chicken, Jamaican patty, and the rice and beans. I was disappointed. The chicken was good but it was bbq chicken not jerk chicken. The rice and beans weren't like rice and beans from Jamaica. They had a different taste with barely any beans in it at all. And the Jamaican patty wasn't good at all. I didn't even finish it. And it was 6 dollars for one. That's insane. Overall, I wouldn't come back. This place was pricy for what it was. There's better places in this food hall. Parking is really expensive. Try to find street parking

One of the many restaurants located inside Colony Square's Politan Row food hall. I went on a Friday during our training's lunch break. They only had two employees working (one at the register and another cooking). The staff remained their cool and seemed calm even as the line grew. The line means they have satisfied customers and/or folks interested in tasting their cuisine which is a good thing. I patiently waited and it didn't take long because I got a beef patty and peas and rice with oxtail gravy. Very comparable in taste to other Jamaica restaurants. The beef patty had a spicy kick to it. The rice and peas are really red beans. The prices are slightly higher than a neighborhood restaurant, probably because of the location, but not bad at all. I would be a repeat customer.

Locale Carribean Café is located in the back left corner of Politan Row at Colony Square. It's a small minority owned restaurant with a cute vibe. I ordered from the revamped menu you get a choice of a base (Coconut Rice, Rice and Peas, or Mixed Greens), a choice of Protein (Grilled Jerk Chicken, Jerk Shrimp, Curry Chicken, Oxtails, or Jerk'd Oyster Mushrooms) and can pick two sides (Steamed Cabbage, Coconut Caribbean Corn, Sweet Fried Plantains, or Plantain Chips) For my meal I ordered: Grilled Jerk Chicken with Rice and Peas, Cabbage, and Sweet Plantains I also had: Cocoa Bread and a Pineapple Soda The Grilled Jerk Chicken was seasoned well (seemed to be brushed over with Jerk BBQ sauce) as was the Cabbage which had great flavor and was cooked perfectly (not overdone and mushy). I did take a star, because as other reviewers mentioned the rice was a tad bit dry but had a good taste and the plantains could be cooked longer. I appreciated the plating of the food items to be aesthetically pleasing and having the cabbage separated to keep the food from being soggy was a plus. Also, my interaction with the employees of this business were stellar. Everyone was pleasant and professional. While I was there I met the owner, Taylur she was a pleasure to interact with and is making adjustments to her business. I look forward to watching this business grow and improve. If you're wondering if I'll be back... I definitely will.

We had the pleasure of dining at the new food hall in Midtown. We went specifically to check out the food at LOCALE CAFE! and we were all very pleased. The jerk chicken was flavorful and cooked well. The oxtail had "TRY ME" written all over it and let me tell you, not only were they absolutely delicious. They were cooked to perfection! We all voted the RICE and PEAS the star of the show! I would go back just for it. I have eaten there 3 times last week. That says a lot, because I am a very picky eater and choose wisely when dining out. Not only is the food fantastic. So was the owner. Her customer service and people skills were very welcoming. It is so important that I feel welcome at the places I spend my money. I felt like family at Locale Cafe! As long as they are there. They have a lifelong customer. I wish you much success!

I really enjoy coming down to Politan Row, but have found I REALLY enjoy the oxtails from Locale Caribbean. They were sweet, savory & spicy- I have it with the rice and peas which were surprisingly seasoned very well! The fried plantains were a sweet & crispy balance. Grabbed myself a beef patty and pine-ginger kola. The service was great and the wait time was A LOT less than some of the other stalls. We'll done Locale We'll done.

I really enjoyed the jerk chicken I got from here. My boyfriend got oxtails and he loved them. Our only complaint was the rice wasn't fully cooked but it was really good and flavorful

I went to pick up lunch for myself and my sister. Decided on this spot. I ordered curry shrimp with rice, beans, and cabbage. It was good. The shrimp were a nice size, slightly salty. My sister got jerk chicken, a beef patty, and coco bread. She wasn't blown away. Pretty average Jamaican food. The coca bread is like a less sweet version of Hawaiian rolls. Not a must try item. The lady at the register wasn't the warmest person to order from, but overall it was decent. In hindsight, I'd look around at other options first, but we were in the mood for Caribbean food.

Stumbled upon this spot a few days ago while visiting colony square for the first time since the renovation. I ordered the jerk chicken wings and red beans and rice(not rice and peas). The chicken was ok. I love Caribbean food so I hate to say it, but I've had better.Overall it was good. The red beans and rice was a little different for my taste because I was expecting New Orleans style, I was a little thrown off because I was actually looking for rice and peas because of the Caribbean food that they served. But it was mainly just rice with a few peas scattered in. Overall it was good but a little pricey. I paid a little over $14 for 2 wings rice and a Diet Coke. Next time I won't be lookin for Rice and peas mon!

One of the best restaurants in the newly opened food hall Politan Row at Colony Square. You can fine Locale nestled in the corner but this hidden gem offers flavorful authentic Caribbean cuisine. We had the jerk chicken, rice and plantain which was simply delicious. The chef was there and spoke with us as we were hoping to have the oxtail. FYI oxtail is available beginning at 4pm because it sells out so fast. You will be happy to know it is prepared overnight to perfection. The presentation was nice as well. It was great to see the face behind the food. You won't be disappointed with anything you order.

I'm beyond satisfied with the tasty selection from this spot. The jammin jerk chicken was filled with so much flavor and the meat fell off the bones. My husband told me, "Damn these oxtails is the truth". They serve a healthy portions and the presentation is on point. Everything was amazing !

As someone who is known for seeking out and truly testing vegetarian options at Caribbean…read morerestaurants, I have to say--Miss Conduck is easily the best Caribbean flavor restaurant in Atlanta. And coming from a Jamaican background, let me be clear: the usual Trinidad vs. Jamaica debate does not apply here. This place stands on its own. From the moment the food hit the table, one thing was consistent across everything we ordered: it was hot, fresh, and made with real intention and flavor. We started with the fried cauliflower bites. The batter was light, crispy, and well done--definitely a solid starter. I wasn't a big fan of the tartar sauce it came with, but it didn't take away from the quality of the cauliflower itself. My friend ordered the jerk chicken rolls, and I have to give credit where it's due--the sauce that came with those rolls was incredible. Easily one of the standout sauces of the night. Next, I had the doubles, and because I like my food with a kick, I asked for pepper sauce. Now, I'll admit--I made my first one obnoxiously hot. But what I discovered was the real winning combination: adding the callaloo on top of the doubles. That was the perfect match. The callaloo itself is blended with so many elements into a rich, flavorful purée, and when paired with the doubles, it created this burst of layered, authentic Caribbean flavor that was just on point. I also ordered a veggie plate with rice and peas, cabbage, and chickpeas, and they did not disappoint. The portion size was generous, and every single item was clearly made with flavor in mind--not just thrown together as an afterthought for vegetarians. I also tried the macaroni pie--it's a smaller portion, but it's true Caribbean mac and cheese, rich and satisfying. The fried plantains were done perfectly--hot, fresh, and with that ideal balance of sweetness and texture. Then came the rasta pasta. My first couple of bites, I thought it needed a little more kick--but by the third bite, everything came together perfectly. You can taste the layers of vegetables building flavor, and there's a subtle heat that isn't overpowering but adds depth. The noodles were cooked exactly how they should be--perfect texture, not overdone, not undercooked. One thing I always pay attention to is this: Is a vegetarian-friendly restaurant also approved by meat eaters? And in this case, the answer is absolutely yes. My friend had the jerk chicken, and she said it was spectacular. She actually lives nearby and already plans to come back regularly. Honestly, I was surprised the place wasn't packed wall to wall. The atmosphere is incredible--it has its own unique style that really makes you feel like you've stepped into the Caribbean. The music, the vibe, everything is intentional. The staff was extremely attentive and friendly, making sure we had everything we needed throughout our visit. We even watched them handle a large party, and they went above and beyond to make sure that group was fully taken care of. All in all, this place exceeded expectations on every level. Five stars without hesitation. If you're in Atlanta and want real Caribbean flavor--whether you eat meat or not--Miss Conduck is a must-visit. I highly recommend making a reservation and experiencing it for yourself.

We tried calling ahead, but no one answered; fortunately, it wasn't too busy when we arrived, so our tardiness wasn't an issue. We weren't immediately greeted since no one was at the hostess stand, but someone from the kitchen noticed us right away and seated us. I chose the deviled eggs and croissant French toast and gave the lemon drop to my friend, opting for a mocktail instead. My friend ordered the cornbread and steak and eggs.
