So I visited this restaurant on 2-5-2026 for the first time at The Municipal Market. I previously seen this business on IG in reels. This is Caribbean food as far as the entree's. They have two different types of rice for those who want rice. I looked on a video and saw that yams or sweet potatoes are available with oxtails. Any time I can get that with Mac and cheese it's a go. Their Mac and Cheese is award winning. The food is delicious. The price for the meal is up there compared to other places. I was able to eat off of my plate a total of three times. I will say that the food is definitely worth it though not a disappointment. Pull up and check them out.

This place was so great I came back twice on my recent visited to Atlanta. When I'm in Atlanta , I usually go to the same restaurants. I rarely try a new restaurant. However, this one has been on my to-do list for a while. so , I decided to go ahead and check them out. Great customer service 5/5 : smiles and helpful. I ordered online. Didn't have to wait more than 10 mins both visits. once I let them know I was there Make sure you park in the Sweet Auburn Market parking lot and get your parking ticket validated at the machine near the Exit before leaving to save money. Oxtail pizza 4/5 : I'm not really into fusion food like this and it didn't work for me but it was so good. I can see this working for people who are into fusion foods. I probably would just order the oxtails separately if they come that way next time. Macaroni and cheese 4/5 not overly seasoned and cheesey very good almost Al dente how I like it but that's a personal choice. Halal Smoked Grilled Chicken Sandwich 5/5 this was a surprise banger right here. All that flavor tenderness of the chicken. this is a definite must order. This is definitely the place to check out if you like halal soul food or just great food in general. Check them out !!!

Jerk chicken stir fried rice and macaroni and oxtail

This place definitely lived up to the great reviews! I wasn't even hesitant on trying it. It was devoured in no time at I have wanted to try oxtail and I finally found a halal spot. The macaroni with oxtail was exactly what I expected, meat so tender you could pull it right off the bone and the macaroni was top notch. We also tried the stir fried rice with jerk chicken. Every bite was full of flavors. We took our food to go and it was 30 minutes to order. The location is inside the market and parking gets a little tricky. Being from out of town it was also a little shady around the area.

Went with 2 friends. We wanted to try out the jerk chicken and oxtail, because we heard good things about them. Unfortunately, they just sold out on the oxtail. We went ahead and ordered Jamacian Rice with jerk chicken, Mac and cheese with jerk chicken, and chimichanga with jerk chicken. And we split the entre, as the portion was generous. Mac & Cheese jerk chicken: 10/10 agreed upon by the entire group Caribbean rice: 9/10 compared to mac and cheese; I'm sure it would have been higher, had we not tried the Mac and cheese Chimichanga: 8.5/10 Service is what you expect from a high quality vendor, very good customer service. Yes it was slow, but that is expected for good food.

Auntie Vee's serves up some really high quality Caribbean style food in Atlanta. Aunty Vee's would succeed in any part of the country for sure because this sorta quality thrives in any market . I've had both breakfast options and lunch options but I definitely lean more towards the latter . The must haves I'd say are the jerk chicken with either the rice or the mac and cheese and their homemade sweet potato pie that tastes better after letting it sit at room temperature for a day or two . As a side note , the jerk chicken has some smoky under tones and isn't spicy . It's closer to what you'd expect in a smokehouse which was a pleasant surprise . Also, their menu states they have lamb bacon but according to the owner , it is no longer available .

Auntie Vee and her staff have such a welcoming demeanor. I ordered the garlic honey chimichanga and it did not disappoint, I didn't have a scale, but it felt like it weight almost 5 lbs lol so they don't skim on the ingredients. This location is in the Municipal Food Court and there are tables and chairs available for customers to enjoy their wonderful cuisine. And let's not forget about her undeniably delicious sweet potato cheese cake, this dessert alone will have you running through the doors to order a few slices. You can also get your parking validated on the way out of the food court. I will be returning to support this business.

    * Food This place is so good. I had a rice bowl and the mac and cheese bowl. Both were crazy delicious and so much food it made two servings. I still think about that jerk chicken. Food is awesome. Definitely going into my repeats. * Service Well, if you must know, there were enough complaints about "slow service" that I tried to go during an off-peak time. I ended up there when there was only one or two other tables, went to the counter, and put in my order. What I figured out is ... the service is very pleasant. The folks there are patient, helpful, and attentive. What I think people are talking about is how long it takes for food to come out. Here's the thing, Auntie Vee ain't shortcutting. When your mac and cheese comes out, it's been baked and is bubbling at your table. It's worth it. * Ambiance Spacious, comfortable seating... but no actual kind of theme. They had a projector set up with a movie playing when we were there. We passed the time waiting on order, playing one of many types of board/card games -- UNO in our case.

When you arrive you see that there are other food venues that have their pickup. Sometimes parking is limited. Ignore the lockers go to the window or call them from the number online to let them know you are there! They will either bring it to your car or to the window inside! This food here was amazing! Best to order online before coming. This place is popular and a lot of ppl waiting. I got the oxtail bowel with the Mac n cheese! The oxtails was tender juicy and the Mac n cheese was made like someone grandma was cooking it! Cheesy seasoned well and full of flavor from the oxtail gravy! Made fresh and hot form the oven. Also note that they are open late nights!! The price of the bowl was 26 dollars but definitely worth it! Good portion maybe three big pieces oxtails and mac n cheese at the bottom with gravy from the oxtails.

The shrimp was fresh and not overcooked or rubbery. The grits were smooth. The gravy was well seasoned, but not overly salty or rich. The cornbread and bread or biscuit was good, but not extraordinary. Those were quite dense and heavy paired with the other food. I loved the banana pudding. This meal jumpstarted my banana pudding hyper fixation. Very fragrant and not too thick yet still nice and creamy. It wasn't overly sweet or heavy either. It was a good dessert to round out the meal. I hope to come here again and have an actual sit down experience. Curious to see the ambiance!

The chicken was alright, but I wouldn't say it was the best I ever had, let alone consider it the world's best. This joint is located in the lower hub, but I believe there's also an outside street entrance. Upon entering, we were told to sit anywhere. The interior is rather dim, and it wasn't super clean as there were still some crumbs on our table from the last people who dined there. There is also a very casual feel to the place, exemplified by the fact that food is served on styrofoam plates and paper trays. FOOD: 2-Piece Dark (Thigh & Leg) (4/5) - Chicken was nice and crispy, but nothing crazy special to me. I was expecting it to be spicier. Liked it more with the Louisiana hot sauce on the table. The chicken rests on a slab of white bread and is served with average slaw and sweet baked beans. Fried Okra (3.5/5) - First time having fried okra. Not bad, and I guess frying it eliminates the slimy texture associated with okra. SERVICE: I am not usually one to complain about service. The person who served us was sweet when we did interact, but it was so hard to get their attention to order and get the bill. But beyond that, the kitchen was noticeably SLOW. My brother and I literally only ordered one plate/portion to share since we wanted to try more places, but it took over half an hour to receive our food. They do emphasize that food is cooked to order, but I still found the wait to be baffling. TLDR// Come here or don't, but if you do, make sure you are not on a time crunch. Maybe I am just being harsh because I was expecting more from a place claiming to have the world's best.

Couldn't have been happier with our choice. Reviews I'd seen online mentioned parking is a bit limited and that the restaurant is frequently busy. However we got very lucky with parking and happened to come in right as someone was leaving. I was sure we would have a wait for a table, which of course would have been fine, but actually we were seated immediately! Which was super nice and unexpected. The atmosphere is bustling but not in a bad way. The restaurant itself is adorable and has a lot of character. It feels like you're having breakfast at an old friend's house. The service was great and our food came out in a very reasonable amount of time. I ordered a specialty coffee, I believe it was the almond joy cold brew, and it was delicious. I also tried the Hash Bowl, which was a bit underwhelming. It was a *lot* of potatoes compared to the eggs and bacon bits, and there wasn't a lot of seasoning other than the bacon. Would rather recommend one of the other options if you end up visiting. The drinks are good as well, would recommend the matcha latte (not too sweet!) and the French Press coffee.
