I usually groom my dog Ella myself, but was unable to do so because I am recovering from a medical emergency. I asked to get a appt soon while I still had family able to drive us to a grooming appt. Crystal was able to get my dog Ella in the next day although I was a new client. She had said that when I made the appt that Ella would be there about 2 hours. Ella has always been good with grooming, but she is 15 yr old and developed more anxiety after she became deaf. Ella was very anxious when we arrived at After Hour's Dog Grooming. Crystal was very sweet with her, and got her right in the tub to start her bath. Ella is a lab/herding dog mix with a very thick coat. I had asked for 2 shampoos, one of a medical shampoo that needed soaking time, a nail trim, and a good blow out of her coat. Crystal called me an hour after I dropped her off and said Ella was done. Ella looked beautiful, glossy and shiny and all of her undercoat was blown out. Crystal did a fabulous job! Ella was happy to see me and was not anxious. Crystal also said that she could come and get Ella if she needed grooming before I was able to drive again. I so appreciate Crystal's excellent services and caring manner! Took my very senior Chihuahua/Papillon mix in today, Friday, June 13th, for a much needed bath and haircut. Not only was the groomer, Lisa, punctual but very easy with my sugar-faced baby who was very nervous. Before grooming, I pointed out areas where there are skin tags and other growths. I also wanted her feet cropped close because she always attracts burrs and fox tails. But talk about bait and switch I took him there again for a bath and just a slight trim if they found it necessary they told me he was matted on his stomach but then for some reason they cut off his eyebrows and his eyelashes and they won't even speak to it I never bothered to read the Yelp reviews because these people were referred to me by a trusted friend. I brought in my shih tzu poodle mix about 8 months ago for my only grooming I'll ever have at this place. I told them I only wanted a trim but that she had a few mats on her belly from her harness and if they needed to go shorter to let me know. When I went to pick her up she was completely shaved. They didn't notify me of the change, and moreover it was a terrible shave job. They shaved her eyelashes and whiskers and there was a cut and skin irritation over and under her right eye. She wouldn't open the eye for 2 days. I should have realized it by how traumatized she was when I picked her up. It seems they rush their jobs to the point of animal cruelty and carelessness. I should have done more research because apparently they choked a dog to death just 2 months before I was there. Never again. Poor pepper deserves better and so does any dog. read more

If I could put no stars, I would. Anisah is a horrible person. She made a big cut in my maltese skin and I had to bring him to the vet to get stitched up. It was such a traumatic experience for me and my poor puppy. Not once did she apologize and blamed it on my dog's hair for being 'matted'. She apparently is a 'well' experienced groomer, she should have known better to work around that problem. I paid her $100 for the grooming, which is very expensive for a cut. and $700 for the surgery. She only refund the cut fee and refused to reimburse the surgery cost. This lady has no heart and I'm so sad she's still in business and will most likely caused future problems. read more

We have come here twice now, and while we don't use other grooming services (we just give our dogs baths at home and do it ourselves) But no matter how many times I've tried, I just can't seem to be able to clip my dog's nails. Between me being timid about it and him suspecting me of "doing something horrible" to him by simply clipping his long ass nails...it just doesn't work and I've given up. We bring him here, and who I presume is the owner, just comes over and without even flinching, she does it so fast that my dog literally doesn't even realize what just happened! Like he doesn't even have time to think about it, let alone get all upset and snippy like he use to! Before this we had taken him to Broadway Pet hospital for years for his nail trims (they use to be $18) But they would have to muzzle him and take him in the back, like it was dramatic and actually more traumatizing for me to have to bring him there! Then they said they ",don't really do nail trims anymore...but they still will" however how it costs $40-$50 for a friggin nail trim ...I thought...yeahhh....NOPE! So I am SOOO glad I found After Hours Grooming! We also never have to make an appointment! Since she does it so fast, we can just walk in (and walk right out) in literally, LITERALLY 5minutes! Broadway I would have to make an appointment like 2 weeks in advance, if I could even get one! So do yourself a favor, if you struggle with clipping your dog's nails...or you just don't want to spend $50 on it...then come here! Her prices are awesome too! Very disappointed in the service. Our pup received a received a very choppy lion's cut, and there were still dreds of matted hair in his fur. Online the pricing says 40 for small dog with a picture of a Westie, for a medium dog it has a picture of a Brussels Griffon and says 60, now how does that make sense? When I called to describe my dog the person on the phone said he is considered to be small, Pomeranian, and the cost would be 40. When I picked him up and was disappointed with the cut she insisted the price was 65, and said the website needed to be updated. Maybe her staff should be updated too? The next day I took Howie in and met Lisa, at her cute little salon. Howard is particular about strangers but immediately took a likely to Lisa. He strolled right in and Lisa did her examination on him and said she could take care of him "no problem" She then offered me various options to make him look stylish. I opted for a Bichon head with Poodle Paws. She told me to come back in about an hour. I felt very comfortable leaving him with her because she has such a warm, welcoming vibe. My concern was that Howie wouldn't be has cute as his full blown existing rastafarian dred's were. I arrived back to pick up my sweetie, anxious and excited, and what I saw was the most beautiful handsome dog in the whole world! He looked so cute and smelled so fresh. She did an AMAZING job. She charged me 60$ total and he was so fresh clean, and super stylish. My guy gets all the looks in town and is walking with more confidence and pep in his step. We came here with our Goldendoodle in December and we were really specific on what type of cut we wanted. He was a puppy and had some matting and so my husband said it was ok to take a trim. They agreed to a certain amount that would be removed. Without talking to us they fully shaved him, leaving very little fur. They never called us to let us know this change. He went in with 2.5 inches and left with under 1/4 of an inch in winter. He was freezing and looked horrible. I was really upset when I saw him and she was not sympathetic and said he can grow it back quickly being a puppy. It has taken 5+ months to get his fur back and the process was painful. Friends and neighbors when they saw him asked, is this the same dog? I get if you need to shave a dog, but if you are going to do something that dramatic after the customer is specific, you call and warn them. Really horrible customer service. read more
