A nice BBQ place just outside the old downtown area of Liberty Hill. I must say upfront this is a somewhat limited review, as this was our first time there. We tried several of the meats and a couple of the sides. Way more stuff on the menu. We bought pounds of brisket (mixed), both sausages, and the STL-style pork ribs. The brisket was great, totally on point! The ribs were smoked perfectly, but perhaps a bit too seasoned for our taste. We thought the sausage was just OK. For sides we tried the pinto beans and coleslaw, both were excellent! Plenty of fixings available on the side... onions, jalapeños and pickles. We tried both of the BBQ sauces, big bottle and "ketchup bottle"... both were good, we couldn't tell the difference if there was one! LOL We shared a bottle of Prosecco, which actually paired well with the BBQ! Service was good, not great. Lots of younger folks, we were obviously first-timers and we had to ask for common sense things, e.g., extra trays to use as plates, utensils, no one explained "the process", ... Good first visit, cool place, lots of outside area. We appreciated the Christian name of the place and the Bible quote above the door! We'll definitely go back to try more things on the menu and try the outside dining area!

    Brisket and sausage

First time here. Very nice place. Service was quick and easy. Very nice people. The brisket was very good. A little light on smoke, but I like a lot of smoke. The sausage was pepper jack, and I highly recommend it. The spicy sauce wasn't needed, but a good sauce, never hurts good brisket, and this was a great combo. It didn't need the sauce, but go for it anyway!

Hatch Mac & Cheese - Individual, tasteless and dry

I read the review that talked about how small the portions are but thought surely they must be lying. They weren't. The quantity of food being sold for $28 feels criminal. Don't make the same mistake I did, skip this place.

Huge back picnic dining area with a stage for live music and a caged area for ax throwing

My daughter and her boyfriend came in from Houston to celebrate a n Fathers' Day (6/10/23) with me. We have never been to Agape BBQ in Liberty Hill. It's not on a main road that I use so I had never seen it. There is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. They also advertise live music. The brisket was top line and exactly what I expect when people say 'REAL Texas BBQ'. Deep smoke ring, great flavor, not OVER salted, and not greasy. This was in my top 5 of brisket I've eaten in over 60 years. They have a couple of different barbecue sauces that are good but not really needed. The brisket speaks for itself. The sausage had a good flavor but was not spicy. The Hatch chili mac & cheese and traditional corn casserole were perfect accompaniments to the BBQ. I had a wonderful time with my family. Definitely will be venturing to this hidden gem again. Agape BBQ is definitely on 'My Keepers List'.

Great BBQ! Happy hour beer! Great band in the backyard! A fun place to hang out for a while under the Oak trees and the Texas sky.

We ordered the wings, burger, 2 slaw dogs, and biscuits and gravy. Let me start off that the wings are lightly battered, fried and then tossed in a great Buffalo sauce that is not too hot. The wings are big and juicy, so much better then those chicken little wing at pluckers. Let me tell you about the B&G... Holy mother of God! Gravy was like liquid happiness sprinkled with bits of sausage over a pair of biscuits that were sweet, fork-tender and soft like butter. Lazy G BBQ Company in Cedar Park is exactly what it sounds like: lazy. For a BBQ joint in Texas,…read morewhere the standard is high, this place is embarrassingly bad. Rudy's BBQ should be the baseline, yet Lazy G doesn't even reach that. I ordered the ribs and brisket, hoping for something decent, but both were far below average. The brisket was especially disappointing--you could see the congealed fat right in the slices (see pictures). Serving meat at the right temperature is BBQ 101, and their failure here made the texture and flavor a cold, greasy mess. The sides weren't any better. The cucumber salad was bland, with just a dusting of dill and no seasoning whatsoever. Adding salt and vinegar should be a no-brainer, but apparently, even the basics were too much effort here. I was excited to try the smoked mushroom side (as a mushroom lover), but it was downright unpleasant. There was zero smokiness, and the sauce tasted like a watered-down BBQ sauce, giving the button mushrooms a soggy, unappetizing texture. The BBQ sauce was another letdown--it tasted like bottled Sweet Baby Ray's. For a BBQ place, using (or at least mimicking) store-bought sauce is the ultimate red flag that they just don't care. Even at $22 for a two-meat plate, the quality doesn't justify the price. In short, Lazy G BBQ Company doesn't just fall short--it doesn't even try. If their goal was to live up to their name, they succeeded; this food is lazy, uninspired, and, frankly, not worth your time or money.

I would go back just for that pork belly with the black pepper bark! OMG…read more....... My husband never eats mac and cheese and I'll be darned if he didn't finish my Trashy Mac and Cheese for me that evening! Finally! Some mac and cheese that is actually delicious and creamy. The toppings of brisket, bbq sauce, french onions and jalapenos all stirred together makes each bite a little slice of heaven. WOW! The next morning he said, "I kept telling myself I need to leave a little bit more for Lee Lee but I kept opening it back up and eating more until it was all gone!" Good thing I had my bites right when we arrived at our hotel because I was so hungry. My husband ordered sliced brisket and we lucked out and got a few of the brisket burnt ends. They weren't all "candified" like a lot of the other bbq places serve; but they were smoky and delicious. I also enjoyed the potato salad. We were excited to order the smoked mushrooms but honestly, they could have used a bit more flavor for me. You could just tap the salt shaker and it would have been fine. I appreciated the creative side dish and love how the bbq scene has doubled down on the side hustle! It was cold out so we sat on the enclosed patio that had heaters and were very comfortable. We order a couple of beers and waited for our food. The service was friendly. This was a nice dining experience.
