Workers are where they say they're going to be, when they say they're going to be there. Working with Eric, Nate, Riley, and others was an absolute pleasure. Their attention to detail and respect for other areas of my home during construction is not to be taken lightly. They changed out air filters at the end of the project and paid attention to all kinds of details that may not have mattered to others, but mattered to me. I especially appreciated Eric's patience with me as I tried to figure out what the shower doors should look like. His concern with "functionality" only matched mine. Recently, my wife and I purchased a 16-year-old home in a 55+ community. Prior to moving, we decided to do a major remodel of the house - new flooring and paint throughout, upgrade all the bathrooms, paint all the cabinets and a few other upgrades. To select a contractor, I looked at various independent websites that provided client reviews of local contractors. I selected 3 contractors to initiate a discussion with. After doing some initial planning work with 2 of them, we selected Agape' Home Services to move forward with the project. Over the next couple of weeks, I worked very closely with the owner, Jerry, to develop a detailed plan and quote for the work we desired. Jerry's initial one day ballpark estimate matched very closely with the final design estimate. Work was scheduled to start approx. 6 weeks after signing of the contract. During that 6 weeks, I worked closely with two people in his office to detail plan the project, make design selections and purchase all required material. This planning phase was complete and precise. Coordination with Agape' was excellent - they worked out all the details and were very responsive to all my questions. Demo started 2 weeks earlier than initially scheduled. Since Agape' does most of the work "in-house", I was told they would have a team of 4-6 guys at the house every day until its completion. Very observable progress was made every time I visited the site. My neighbors confirmed they saw daily activity. We were very pleased with the demo and construction process: - Quality of the work was excellent - in particular the painting of the existing cabinets far exceeded our expectations. - Coordination and communication was excellent. I was contacted numerous times to discuss and confirm details prior to actual installation to assure that no errors occurred. Everyone was very responsive to any requests and questions that I had. - All team members were friendly, easy to work with, open and honest about all aspects of the project - if an error was made, I was informed and was given choices on how to resolve it The original estimate/quote was spot-on as evidenced by the final cost coming in extremely close to the initial estimate. I never felt at any time I was being "nickeled and dimed" with change orders. Everyone showed a willingness to "please the customer". The payment schedule was reasonable and fair. The project was completed within the 9-12 week initial time frame from its start. As an engineer with some 35 years in the engineering, construction, and manufacturing business, I understand and have experienced how no project is ever perfect - there are always problems along the way. What makes the difference between a good project and a bad one is good initial estimates and upfront planning, and how unforeseen problems are dealt with along the way. I can honestly say that Agape' excelled in all these areas - which has resulted in a very positive experience for us. I have heard many horror stories about dealing with contractors/subcontractors in a home remodel project. I can honestly say that I had none of that with Agape' Home Services. Throughout the entire process, they were truthful and honest with me with an end result of excellent quality and exactly what we wanted. It was truly a pleasure to work with Agape' Home Services. We recently used Agape for a guest bathroom remodeling project. We were very pleased with with them from start to finish. We had gotten quotes from a couple other companies, but only Agape was able to work with our budget and still deliver what we wanted. The other companies we got quotes from were very skeptical about my design choices and expressed how they didn't think the type of wall in shower we wanted to replace the existing bath tub with would work. Agape understood what I wanted and made it happen. I worked with a design lady named Becky and she had good ideas and helped to get the right materials for the project. Dale was the guy who oversaw the project and did most of the work. He worked really hard and did a good job. I felt a bit bad for him because my vision for this redo included a massive amount of tile work. (I'm sorry Dale! But the bathroom looks great!) We have a couple of other bathrooms we need to remodel and we will definitely be calling on them again when the time comes. In 2019 Agape remodelled my master bath, created a new closet out of empty space between walls, and completed many miscellaneous repairs. The hardest part of the process was me making decisions. The second hardest was just being willing to regularly check the work and point out anything I wasn't happy with. Both of these are unavoidable parts of big projects, and would have been MUCH harder with less patient, helpful, and conscientious contractors. In the end I was and still am THRILLED with the results. I would absolutely hire Agape again and I recommend them without reservation. A word about Jerry, since one or two other reviews mention him. It's true that he can be abrasive with strangers on the phone - I think the rest of the company does their best to keep him away from customers! - but once we got to talking we were able to see eye to eye very quickly. And when I met with him in person, I found him to be an innovative problem solver and an enthusiastic creative collaborator. His knowledge and ideas added a ton of value to my project. Mike Stevens came our last Saturday to perform a small project on my 2-story window, hanging rods/drapes/wall decors. He was prompt, pleasant to work with, payed extreme attention to detail and performed a fantastic job on the project! You can tell that he had passion at what he was doing, he even spent extra time at completing the task without worrying about rushing or extending the contracted hours. He repeatedly went up the 19 foot ceiling to perfect the installation of the wall decors no matter how challenging, just to ensure that everything was perfect! First of all, I would like to say that I was very happy in the end with Nick, Wes & Mike. These guys did the labor intensive work and the product turned out beautifully. Now for the reason for the low score. Jeff (co-owner) is the salesperson and very personable. Jeff did all the measurements to quote the job for the work that needed to be done and once I decided to give them the job, he and Delaina (designer) came out to go over all the details. Delaina asked if I ordered my stone that I wanted for my fireplace and she informed me that they could get it for me with their discounts. I was happy to let them do that as I THOUGHT it would be cheaper. On the second to the last day of EXPECTED completion (Start day was on Nov. 18th and should have been completed on Nov. 22nd, the job actually completed on Dec. 11, 2019) the guys informed me that they did not have enough of the stone panels, but at the time of the work stop, I had 3 full EXTRA boxes of corner panels, which indicates they screwed up on ordering as I had to pay an additional $175 to get 3 EXTRA boxes of stone ledgers that were needed to finish the job. I said that since I did not order these and these were the measurements of the owner, I felt that he should have to pay. I called and texted Jeff on his cell phone and he refused to pick up or even contact me. I called the office and his "bully" brother, Jerry told me I would be paying and if I didn't, he would put a "mechanics lien" on my home. (For those that don't know what a mechanics lien is, it is where a contractor can put a lien on your home and until that lien is resolved, you cannot sell your home) I promptly hung up on Jerry as he was exceptionally rude and it was clear that I was not going to get anywhere speaking with him. It was clear that Jeff is the likeable salesperson and clearly doesn't like confrontation, so he lets his "bully" brother deal with the challenging things. So here is the bottom line regarding this company, although I was happy with the work in the end, I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND them as they were not honest and they should have taken accountability for the inaccurate ordering process as they cost me above what I agreed to. For me, I want to know that I am working with HONEST contractors and who don't threaten their clients with MECHANICS LIENS! If this company was truly honest and stood behind their work, then I would hope to receive a check. If that were to happen, I would be happy to update this review! read more

I hired this company in 2012 to remodel my bathroom. They were very difficult to deal with and it turned out to be an unpleasant experience. I could list all of the issues I had, but what I felt was most important to share is that now, 6 years later, I am spending $1,500 to repair the poor work that was done on my shower. After a couple years of mold in the grout, I have had to bring in a tile person to rip apart the bottom half of my shower to determine where the mold was coming from. I watched as the tile was removed to reveal that their installer put screws through the shower pan liner on the inside of door sill. Water has been leaking through these screw holes and rotted out the hardiboard. In order to repair this damage the whole shower pan and the walls around it all need to be removed and a new liner installed. Apparently this a short cut often employed by contractors to save money and time. I would never have hired this company again after my initial experience, but now I feel it is important to ensure others are warned as to the type of work they do. read more

I would never hire this company again. So if you have a remodeling project please don't hire them. I had a kitchen remodel and my cabinets were bigger than plans which affected my refrigerator. After they promised me I would have more room, I had less. I put the issue on the punch list and they completely ignored me stating I signed the plans. I did sign the plans but the cabinets were larger than what the plans said. They didn't care and would not address the issue. Delania in the office gave me bad information on several occasions and I had to watch everything in detail because she didn't even check her work before sending the information to me. The men who worked at my house were very pleasant and worked very hard. Jerry, the owner, was very hard to work with. Last Friday, March 13th, I had an interview with Nick from Agape Home Services. Later that same day, Nick called me and offered me the job, which I accepted. On Monday, March 16th, I let my current boss know that it was going to be my last week there, and they hired a replacement the following day. Yesterday, 3/18/2020, Nick called me to let me know they're withdrawing the job offer. He stated that they don't have work at the moment, and can't afford to bring anyone else in. I explained to Nick that I had already told my boss that this week was my last week and that a replacement has been hired so even if I wanted to, there's no way I can keep my current job. Nick said his hands were tied, that there's nothing that he can do. I understand that things are hard right now for many different businesses, but please understand that you made a job offer, which I accepted, and now you're saying there's absolutely nothing that can be done. So now, my family of 4 will suffer severely all because I accepted a job offer that was withdrawn. Please understand the damage your company is causing for MY family. And to say "Sorry, nothing I can do. My hands are tied." as if it was nothing. As if it wasn't a huge deal. A company that can't keep their word, is definitely not a company I'd ever like to do business with. I hope Nick, and anyone else on the hiring team, can sleep peacefully knowing the damage they're causing for my family. I get that things are crazy right now, but they have been for a while. You guys really went from "We haven't stopped working in over 13 years" to "We have no work and can't afford to bring anyone else on board after all" in a matter of 5 DAYS. I know this will mean absolutely nothing to anyone that's a part of this company, but to future employees, please beware when applying for a job for this company. They can easily withdraw their offer without hesitating or thinking about it twice, not caring about how it's going to affect you and your family in the long run.
