My go to for all my flooring needs. Widened door in bathroom so had to replace flooring. They installed a heated floor and also new flooring in guest bath. Asked about carpet in living room and they had a remnant that was perfect size and color--such a good price I basically pid just for the install! Lastly, found water damage to wood floor in living room. They replaced the flooring with boards I had and even though more than 15 years old, I can't tell the new from the old. Install is seamless! Our experience with Waggoner was about as Yelp describes 3 stars... "A-OK." I would really like to rate them higher but we just had a slow accumulation of challenges throughout our small home renovation project. Nothing in the end went terribly wrong, everything is fine now at the end, but the process along the way was far from smooth or above expectations. We used Waggoner as general contractors for a $12K renovation of kitchen, bathrooms, and laundry room. I'll start by saying that I really wanted to like Don a lot. He was friendly, kind, and strikes me as a really great guy. Definitely seemed to care about us as customers and expressed a desire to take care of us. Pricing was a mixed bag. The estimates and even final invoices were not transparent in the least, in terms of materials, breakdown of services to be performed, labor, etc. That wasn't so good. But, he continued to give us rough estimates along the way, and once our design decisions were finalized he gave us a firm price. That price did not change through to the end of the project, although there was one subcontractor that I thought he was paying that he asked me to pay directly (just a few hundred). It was also nice that he was very slow to worry about payment - some contractors can be real sticklers about demanding huge sums up front. Honestly, 75% of the work was done before he even asked for a penny. Don also tried to make things easy on us, even picking up things we were purchasing on our own for us, like the vanities. He also worked to rectify things that were going wrong along the way and a couple of times seemed prepared to really go to bat for us. In the end, I'll repeat that we have no lasting problems with any of the work that was done for us. Sometimes I think that contractors "relax" a bit when they have customers like me who are knowledgeable and capable and are doing a lot of work themselves. That's fine, but I hope contractors will walk through the whole project with me, giving advice, solving problems, anticipating our needs, and thinking of things we aren't thinking of. I'm not an expert, but I expect them to be. That was not our experience. For example, we had a couple minor hangups, like tile cutting across the middle of outlets and switches and our desire to add an extra outlet. In each of them, Don wasn't a lot of help at all, but fortunately he had subcontracted a handyman friend of ours for the installation of the vanities and he happened to be there and quickly came up with out-of-the-box solutions for all of them. I have no idea what sort of unfortunate workarounds we might have landed on without that quick thinking on his part. Another example would be our tile backsplash. The installers, and Don himself, seemed to have no idea that part of the pattern was natural limestone, and thus needed to be sealed. Within days we had horrible water spots all over the tile. We complained to him, and we didn't hear back from him for over a week. Finally, he did show up with a bottle of cleaner (which he gifted to us) that did ultimately take out the stains over the course of about 5 cleanings throughout the rest of the day. We then rapidly sealed it ourselves so we wouldn't have the problem again. A big part of the concern with Waggoner is that they were exceedingly busy when we were working with them. It could take a couple of days to hear back from them, and most of the work took a long time to commence. We ultimately ended up missing one of our deadlines for completion (an event we were hosting at our house). He did tell us that he wanted to wait until he could line up all the contractors so the actual construction phase wouldn't be too long, but the scheduling still left a lot to be desired. Despite my repeatedly telling him that I worked from home and thus could handle contractors at any time, it seemed like we kept getting less-than-ideal schedules. Our biggest headache was not entirely Waggoner's fault, but the scheduling made it worse. They had insisted on scheduling our countertop install on a Saturday while we were out of town. That was fine, I trusted them well enough, but the plumber wasn't scheduled to come until Monday morning. That meant we'd have no working sinks in the house for about 48 hours. We were prepared, but in the installation the subcontractor found broken water valves and simply turned off the water to the whole house (and didn't tell anyone). We get back home at about midnight on Saturday and find no running water at all in the house. After bottled-water showers the next morning, we fled the house for my mother's to wait for the plumber. If the plumber had simply been scheduled for the same day, or first thing the next day, the whole experience would have been much simpler. The plumber also could have come in advance to test the supply valves and fix broken ones in advance. Overall I think Don was simply too busy to be a great general contractor on this job. read more

He was super knowledgeable and ready to help. -We were in a hurry to get new carpet installed in our new home because we had to be out of our old house in less than a week. -He helped us find a carpet we loved and he had enough in stock to get the job done! -2 days later we had new, clean, soft, beautiful carpet in all my closets! I was remodeling my kitchen and went to Waggoner Carpets to look at flooring. I had mentioned that I wish they did countertops and backsplash. To my surprise, they did. I was able to get my kitchen finished, using Waggoner Carpets for flooring, countertops and backsplash. They did an excellent job and I will definitely use them again. read more

They are excellent! We had a flood the first day we moved into our new house. We had to get the carpet re-installed in a bedroom after the moisture was removed. Every interaction I had with Waggoner Carpets was a good one. They were professional and friendly every step of the way. They were able to schedule the work the same week and actually called the next day to say they could get in earlier than expected. The installation went great and took under an hour to replace the pad and the carpet. The prices are also very reasonable. I will have no hesitations using them the next time we need flooring work! read more

If you need flooring of any kind, counter tops or your kitchen or bathroom remodeled Don and his son Ray at Waggoner will take very good care of you! They seem very old fashioned in their pricing and workmanship but very modern when it comes to the latest choices. They brought the best quality carpet to put in my home office and his crew moved about my house like they were in a china shop, very carefully! Was awesome to watch! I want to recognize Waggoner Carpets for amazing customer service. I purchased carpet from them three years ago. They did an amazing job installing the carpet. However, recently, a few wrinkles had developed in the carpet. I contact Don, at Waggoner Carpets and described the problem. He asked when I would be available, and I told him. He had a crew at my home in less than 3 hours!! Angel and his team were courteous, professional and once again did an amazing job!! Try getting those big carpet guys to do something like this. We were very excited to get new den carpet and tile in our bathroom! Don came out and gave us an extremely fair price. We selected the middle priced Stainmaster carpet. We have two dogs that have had accidents on the carpet and the stain comes up with great ease. Wow, do we wish we could recommend them, but can't, and have steered at least one friend to someone else. They really helped us pick the right carpet and vinyl flooring, and we are grateful for that. But the installation and follow-up was very disappointing. First, they miscalculated and didn't bring nearly enough carpet, complicating the installation. The install crew for the carpet left large edges of carpets untacked, and once tried to put down faulty carpet pads (the waterproof seal was torn off quite a few square feet, and they had to have seen it; fortunately we did before they covered it up). The carpet is nice, but the seams really show. In addition, the sales manager promised to give us instructions for carpet care--essential to avoid the manufacturer voiding your warranty--but never did; we've asked three times and they said they would send someone with that information as well as to look at the seams, but then absolutely nothing happens. After several months we're still waiting. That seems to be a pattern; not returning calls or following up. Maybe they deal in high volume so a single residential job is not a priority. But we've heard of other family-owned floorers who did seem to care more about single-residence customers in a way Waggoners has not. As I said, we've steered at least one friend in another direction. read more
