Run do not walk if you are looking for an AMAZING dining experience! My husband and I went for my Birthday last night and I am so glad we did. We have been before and have always been pleased BUT last night we decided to try the Chef's Blind Tasting menu. All I can say is WOW! Chef Lawrence is a culinary genius! We were skeptical at first as we didn't know what to expect. Chef Lawrence put our mind at ease by asking about our likes/dislikes and expectations. He presented each course with a detailed description but words didn't do justice to the sheer beauty of each plate or the flavor explosion they provided!. We started with the house made bread of the day (which was sunflower) served with tomato garlic butter. Our first course was his version of an African chicken mafe. (This should have a permanent spot on the menu it was that good!). Next came a sausage and swordfish rigatoni in a garlic mushroom sauce. I don't normally order pasta but I would order this again and again. Third course was a dry aged NY strip cooked to perfection served with truffle mash potatoes, broccolini and a Bordelaise sauce. The steak had such a wonderful smoky flavor and the sauce was to die for! Last but not least came dessert. I was served a decadent chocolate mousse with chantilly cream while my husband was served a wonderful flaky baklava with a rose simple syrup! Words and pictures can not explain how truly wonderful this experience was! I know some people may be leary to try the tasting menu because you don't know what you are getting. Trust me, just do it! We started with martinis which were perfectly made. We had Brussels sprouts and a salad which didn't disappoint. We were only there for apps but everything was delicious and memorable. Review Time: Agapi Bistro & Garden (Dinner Menu) We have been here during brunch a little while back, which did not disappoint. Tonight we are trying their dinner menu with some friends. I'm super excited to see what they have to offer for dinner. Because if dinner lives up to the brunch standards, we are in for a true treat. This is such an amazing quaint little restaurant with fantastic service, and attention to detail even down to the beautiful copper plated silverware. I apologize to the young lady who waited on us, because I couldn't remember her name. She provided us with 5 star service; and I was overly impressed how the owner remembered us from our previous visit. I couldn't wait to start trying some of these appetizers. The perfectly oven roasted deliciously seasoned cauliflower. This is by far the best high end grade beef carpaccio I have ever had. It did not need an ounce of seasoning or sauce; and melted in your mouth. Moving on to the knock your socks off amazing olive oil poached tender octopus. The lemon juice vinaigrette just set the flavor of this tentacle to a flavor explosion. The super fresh oysters Rockefeller was good, but the spinach topping was a slightly overly salted. I am not a cheese person, but this skopeltiki pita was beyond unique and delicious. It had an extremely crispy pastry dough crust with a super soft mild feta filling. The shrimp bisque was smooth, velvety, and had the perfect balance of cream and shrimp flavor. For dinner, I tried the Cioppino, which was good. The broth could have used a little more depth of flavor, but the seafood was extremely tender and fresh. The red snapper had a phenomenal seasoning on the outside; and the baguette bread was chargrilled deliciousness. My husband had the Gulf Scamp Cervantes, the fresh scamp was cooked to flakey perfection with a delicious jump lump crab cream sauce. Unfortunately, the risotto was under cooked and crunchy; the haricots vert was delectable and well seasoned. My friend had the fedelini with shrimp and mushrooms, which was absolutely fabulous. The black truffle cream sauce reminds me of a pasta dish I used to get somewhere, but I can't recall where. It was extremely flavorful, and was my favorite entree of the night. I couldn't leave without dessert, so we decided to try the Chocuterie board and the Deluce De Leche creme brûlée. The creme brûlée was an amazing spin on this perfectly creamy custard with a delicious leche sauce with a perfect crispy sugar topping. It almost reminded me of a reversed vanilla flan. Now if chocolate if your thing, come here for decadent chocolate indulgence. I could not believe the level of high quality chocolate sweets on this board. The heart shaped espresso bon bons, the blueberry chocolate cubes, the amazing chocolate coconut bark, the mousse to dip some of your fresh berries in. This is worth a dessert trip in itself. Overall review: this place has become one of my top 5 places for dinner...from the superb friendly service (5/5) to the intricate decadent food (4.5/5)...there was few small hiccups through the courses, but nothing that would keep me coming back...if you haven't tried this restaurant yet, you are missing out... read more

My husband & I went there for the first time last night for happy hour. Cute building off Scenic highway. We sat outside in a front patio area. $3 beers & $5.55 glasses of wine. Also several appetizer options for $5.55. We had the Cuban egg rolls, dolmades, and the two bite burgers with bacon aioli. Our favorite was the Two bite burgers which were full of flavor! Just excellent! We ordered a second plate! They would be the equivalent of 2 large bites of a burger. They left us wishing we had a full size burger! Our server was very pleasant & attentive. This little place was great for our lunch. The dining room is small but not cramped and there appeared to have ample staffing. Received a fabulous friendly greeting. If you're time crunched and need your food thrown at you, this restaurant is not for you. We were not rushed and there was plenty of time from order to appetizers to meal. We all had the lobster roll sandwich and it was fresh, warm & delicious. Considering we had linen napkins, real rose colored flatware (nice touch) the prices were not ridiculous. Seemed like a nice place from reviews and the look of the place. Got to the restaurant and it was busy -- a good sign. Immediately seated, orders taken, a checkback. Then the nit fun began. Wrong order came to the table. These things happen. But then we waited 40 mins with nothing. No order, no checkback, nothing. Finally asked, which is when they discovered they'd forgotten us entirely. Manager came by and asked if all was well, which it wasn't. Food was clearly rushed out and not well warmed. Then, nothing more. Another apology from the server, but no recompense, like a glass of wine. My husband and I LOVE Agapi. The unique wine menu never disappoints and the food is also beautifully prepared and delicious. I'm a vegan and they always have upscale options for me and are very accommodating and my husband loves all the local seafood options. My boyfriend and I had reservations for brunch this morning at this lovely little place! We had deep south deviled egg tasting for our appetizer (the smoked salmon + caviar was our favorite). I also got the bottomless mimosas with guava juice :) For our entree, we got banana pudding french toast and the crab Benedict. Both were delicious and delivered on flavor! Unfortunately I forgot to take a picture of our food because we were so excited to dig in, but it was beautiful!! My only negative note would be about the deviled eggs. We had a few pieces of egg shell in our food which was a little disturbing, texture-wise. The atmosphere was really pretty and quaint with plants, stringed lights, fans and a breeze to keep you cool! Just moved to Pensacola and needed someplace close for dinner. We've passed this cute little place a few times so decided to give it a try. We had a nice table in the patio, and while the view was just OK, the food was pretty good! We started with the sourdough appetizer and loved the pesto dipping sauce. I had the pasta with shrimp and my wife had the Briam. Both were excellent. The menu overall looks pretty good and we are looking forward to another visit soon. read more

Every drink we ordered it seemed like it was too much of a hassle to make and she stuck her fingers into all the wet garnish jars. We got our appetizer, the bao buns, and they were amazing. For dinner my partner got the saltibocca and I got the shrimp and mushroom fettuccini. It was super good. I gave my experience a 2-3 stars because of the poor service and amazing food. I personally don't want to see uncleanliness or hear how annoying it is to make a drink and how "fucking stupid" their co-worker are. read more

I am absolutely speechless. We've been to this restaurant quite a few times since we discovered it and have been absolutely enamored every time. It is absolutely incredible. Chef Gus is incredibly talented and Bianca does an excellent job too. Osso bucco, lobster rolls, fig & brie app, potato hash, and Nutella crème brûlée are some of our favorites. If you are looking for an amazing outdoor event space with delicious food this is it. We just had a surprise 50th birthday party for 70 people and it turned out better than imagined. We loved working with Bianca who helped bring our vision to life. She was so accommodating and helped us with several special requests. I ordered based on what was highlighted on the menu. We shared the poached octopus and the oysters Agapi. I was so pleased with the fine, creative preparation and presentation. Delicious. My husband had the onion soup, and it delivered. We had the entrees of the duck trio, and the Scamp Cervantes. Both dishes were thoughtfully and perfectly prepared and presented. We tried each other's plates, and agreed that everything was above and beyond our expectations. I must mention that the wait staff and service was excellent. The fish tacos are flavorless, spicy hot, and lack filler (mostly just a hunk of fish in a flour tortilla). The menu & staff fail to mention they are spicy hot. When the manager (I think? She never introduced herself) asked how it was, I explained it was too hot to eat and she replied "well, it is called blackened." There's no standard recipe for blackening seasoning, but most blends include thyme, oregano, paprika, cayenne, onion powder, garlic powder, and of course, salt and pepper. Aside from the spicy hotness of their seasoning, there was no flavor. Blackening is mostly a Cajun technique. I could not find one thing on the menu that I consider to be Mediterranean. Real disappointed. The manager did, eventually, once she was done defending the restaurant and the item, offer to replace the item, but by then I had no appetite and just wanted to leave. Nov 26, 2022: My mom, daughter & I went today around 12 for my mom's birthday lunch. Hostess was very nice & sat us outside and told us she'd give us a kids menu (she forgot). While waiting for kids menu, we watched the chef's wife & a waiter talk and get orders from the table beside us who already had drinks. We continued to wait and then the waiter brought the other table's appetizers out a few minutes later & walked back inside. At this point, probably about 15 mins total of waiting, we decided to leave & go to a nearby restaurant that would serve us. I met a friend for happy hour late this afternoon. High points: the food and drinks were really, really good and the prices very reasonable. Low point: the service. When I step foot into a Silivos establishment I expect it to be as it always has been: first class. I've never been treated with disrespect or disdain, I've always felt that my business was appreciated, the staff has always been professional and friendly. Not so tonight. The bartender, a very rude and I suspect very unhappy individual was no less than insulting to me. I inquired about the hours as there was a little confusion within my party, and she told me "the hours will be printed on the paper on the front door". In other words, if you want to know the hours, far be it from me to help you out, get your ass to the front door and see for yourself. I had tried to read the hours on the front door however there was a wreath blocking it and I couldn't see what the hours were. This conversation took place AFTER she finished a conversation with a coworker, while I sat and waited on her to ask what I might like to drink. She was inattentive, surly, inpatient, and acted as though my friend and I had been an imposition. I was very disappointed but mostly surprised. Chef Silivos has an excellent, long standing and positive reputation in Pensacola. I hope he won't let this coarse, unpleasant and ill mannered employee change that. Thank you. read more

My 2 sons and daughter in law and I ate there Saturday 7/24 as an early birthday dinner for me. So, inside seating is quite limited so if you do not get your reservation in well ahead of time you will be seated on the covered patio which could benefit greatly from a few ceiling fans. Menu choices are fairly broad but really don't scream Mediterranean. We had tea and water as our drinks. Tea had ice, water did not and had to be requested. We all had the Shrimp Fenidine (spelling). The portions were small, the flavor really good. The shrimp were royal reds but they were very small and slightly over cooked. The service was top notch. This little restaurant definitely deserves to be higher rated than some of the others above it. It is small, quaint. Small bar, some outside dining tables as well. We made a reservation and had no problems. We went on the early side so that we could get a table inside (it is FLORIDA - HOT). They have a nice selection of beer, wine and cocktails. We got the crab moussaka for an appetizer and it was wonderful. Tasteful without trying to kill it with spices. For our entrees we had the Scamp -light flaky, perfectly cooked on tomato risotto- and the shrimp on pasta with a black truffle sauce - nicely cooked, great flavor. We had no complaints - the food was great, our waitress was prompt and attentive, and it was a nice atmosphere. Our only suggestion is to get a bigger building so more can enjoy the food/drinks/atmosphere. read more

We are locals and have been here several times over the years. The food is outstanding as is the service. But I feel like if I don't mention their climate control woes, it will never be addressed and others will go here and suffer through a meal. I am not referring to simply having a bit of chill in the air or a little warm through a meal. This restaurant (which may have been an old convenience store?) is down right miserable. Last winter we went and it was freezing inside - literally wear everything you had for winter wear inside the restaurant. Today - 91 degrees outside - it was cooler outside than inside. No air movement. There were numerous patrons wiping sweat, fanning themselves or just leaving. I ate so that I could leave. Sitting on the patio in 91 degree weather is a better option. So if you are going there this summer, pick a patio table. I feel sorry for the wait staff and kitchen staff - it must be horrible to work there. But since this is about food, I will say the food is outstanding, well worth trying - just in mild weather. read more

After having three different people recommend this place, we decided to give it a try and wow! As a vegetarian it's hard to find places that maintain their level of quality in their veggie dishes, but Agapi really shines in theirs. The watermelon poke was delicious. I got the asparagus + autumn squash strudel. It should be known I'm not a huge squash fan so I was nervous but it was amazing!! I loved the tart apples on the side and the strudel was perfectly crispy. The chocuterie board was the perfect finish. We will definitely be back! read more
