    Standards and rotators.

Fantastic cocktail bar, biergarten, and lounge restaurant as part of the historic Sacred Heart Hospital building. With somewhat dim lighting and a speakeasy's ambiance, The Burrow offers a great spot for just a drink or a full meal. For starters, check out their cocktail menu. Sure, they can make you your favorite drink, like a Manhattan or a basic Cosmo, but their featured drinks are outstanding. The Giving Tree is a smashing blend of pear & vodka, with a mint garnish, and it is seriously drinkable. The Burrow even offers CBD-infused cocktails for those that really want to take the edge off. The fare is beyond the standard bar & grille, though they do serve a fantastic burger. For appetizers, the Raclette Fries are a must-try with rich flavors that could captivate any palate, and bigger appetites can tackle the Pork Shank, served bone-in and topped with cabbage for that authentic German approach. If you want something lighter, then the Little Wedges (the only time I actually enjoy iceberg lettuce) could be a meal to many, topped with the usual bleu cheese & bacon crumbles - so good! Pricing is right on par with the value and the drinks themselves are simply outstanding. The bartender even made a previous 'seasonal' offering for my father-in-law, so you know the service is top-shelf. The space inside isn't huge, but the decor and layout is pretty well optimized. Great spot for any season, and with the biergarten space, you have plenty of options.

We found The Burrow while playing the "let's go somewhere we haven't been" game on a lazy Sunday--and honestly, what a find. Tucked inside a historic building that used to be a hospital, the atmosphere is moody, hip, and just a little weird--in the best way. Think artsy underground vibe, like a rave met a speakeasy. Staff were dressed like they had just left Bonnaroo, and honestly, it worked. It matched the overall aesthetic: young, trendy, a little chaotic. We were excited... until the service flatlined. Our server had absolutely no pulse. No energy, no menu guidance, no real interaction--just doing the basics. Our drinks from the bar were handed to us as unopened cans. Not a garnish, not a glass, not even a cracked tab. While other cocktails floating around looked interesting, the presentation (or lack thereof) of ours made us rethink spending $14+ on what amounted to "cooler beverages." We were initially handed dinner menus that had us drooling--only to be told we got the wrong ones and were swiftly downgraded to the Sunday brunch menu. Not a total buzzkill, but a sign of the mediocre service ahead. We tried the fried deviled eggs, which were fine--but missing something. Maybe it's the Southerner in me, but I like my filling with a little more acidity. These felt flat, and I wouldn't order them again. Food timing was also stuck in the waiting room. Tables seated after us were already eating while we were still making small talk with our unopened seltzers. Our server was either in surgery, on a smoke break, or practicing for a disappearing act. Then... redemption. The brunch burger was a straight-up masterpiece. Juicy, perfectly seasoned, topped with a runny egg and paired with thin, crispy fried potatoes that brought texture, crunch, and raised this visit back to life. One of the best burgers I've had in a long time. The watermelon salad was also a standout--fresh, balanced, and bursting with unexpected flavor. In the end, The Burrow is a vibe. It has character, it has potential, and it definitely has flavor. But until the service is brought out of recovery, I'll keep it on the "maybe again someday" list.

    Spinach & Artichoke dip

First off, let me say the ambience and the entire atmosphere of this restaurant is absolutely amazing. I truly felt like it was me in restaurant form. We sat outside and the area was so clean and inviting. The inside is cozy and gives that underground feeling. The green velvet seats, the penny tile floors. The wait staff wise, very knowledgeable and friendly. From the waitress all the way to a cook that I saw taking a break. Everybody spoke to me, included my son and made sure that I was taken care of. The food was outstanding. I ordered a spinach and artichoke dip. I know that it is an appetizer, but I love ordering appetizers for a meal. My son ordered a Burrow burger and he is definitely a preteen and only wants cheese and ketchup on his burger and they did not bat an eye at changing the ingredient list to accommodate his plain taste. Even after I apologized profusely because they have so many things on that burger and he did not want any. They made sure to let me know that it was not a problem and they just wanted to make sure he loved his burger. Definitely a must stop if you are in the Pensacola area and looking for a unique place to eat !!! If you read this, and it helps you, I would appreciate a reaction as it just boosts my reviews for other tourist to see .

Toad in the hole turned out to be a prince!

Toad in the hole, actually a prince. Not your normal avocado toast. Crisp and fresh, citrus finish on two eggs nestled in rustic toast; topped with arugula, pickled onions and tomatoes. And a heap of potatoes. Delish!! Service A+ Nice vibe.

    Lavender creme brûlée

We got there just in time , 5pm on a Wednesday. Had a few minutes to mull the menu because a rush came in after we ordered drinks. The corn and jalapeño hush puppies were good, came out hot but I question the beer cheese...it was kinda solidified almost like it was more of a spread not sure if it was served at the wrong temperature. Odd but there was no time to wonder before we were finish, suddenly had our entrees. The enchiladas, rice beans were just bland. The beans were supposed to be garlic but it was absent. On top of that the beans and rice were barely warm I hesitate to say they were almost cold. The enchiladas were warm. The mole on top was the only thing adding flavor. The meat inside tasted fine but overall just lack of salt or extra flavors, just meat. Husband had the beef and collard melt which came out hot as evidence of the melted cheese. The sandwich could have had more collards on it but might have contributed to a soggy sandwich and also make it impossible to bite into it unless you were an alligator. The lavender creme brûlée had a good crunchy top. The honey was the prominent flavor, lavender was missing until the end were we tasted it at the bottom of the bowl. And why is it served in a bowl? Odd vessel for a creme brûlée. Inside was nice and clean. There is one table that was not being used because of a leaky return dripping on the table. Plenty of seating outside which will be nice when the weather turns cooler. Our server was very nice. Would like to try again perhaps order different entrees. The drinks were pretty good.

Definitely a must try restaurant! The restaurant is very nice and it reminded me of a pub in England /Ireland. The atmosphere is very welcoming and service was great. Food and drinks were good. Looking forward to coming back when the weather gets better as they have a cute outdoor area.

We found this place online and wanted to give it try! Love the downtown vibes in the old building. We had a 35 min wait which was no big deal. When we got seated we got sat right next to the host station which is a bit awkward when people come up and stand in line next to you. Our waitress was so funny and kind. Food took quite some time to come out. We had two apps the deviled eggs and the pretzel with beer cheese both were amazing. My husband had the burger which he was had amazing flavors. Fries were also good but a little undercooked. I had the pork sandwich, it was just ok. The pork was lacking in flavor- could have used some spice. Overall, we would try it again! Had a great outside eating area when it warms up.

Daiquiri with spirulina. Too much lime juice for us.
    Pat J.

A solid 4* and possibly 4.5*. It's apparent that The Burrow knows good food and values quality ingredients. We started with an excellent Old Fashioned! Would definitely get that again. The Daiquiri was pretty lime-foward even for me (and I like limes). They couldn't prepare the burger so I went went with a salad with grilled shrimp. I really enjoyed the dill salad dressing and wonderful grilled shrimp. Mike really enjoyed his Brisket French Dip and could've use additional au jus, but we had had plenty. Will be back if we're in the area again.

Found this place here on Yelp during a business trip and took a chance. This is a special place. First off it's seated inside of an old building that looks like a Castle. When you walk inside it has a very rustic castle/winery like vibe. The craft beer and wine list are top notch with local brewery options. Food was outstanding. The Hot Honey friend chicken sandwich was amazing as was the blackened salmon. Service was top notch. This would be my go to place if I were in the area.

Things started a little sour, but were sweetened up and the food was stellar! We were a party of four and were sat at a tiny wet round table that two people would have had to juggle with. As we were discussing leaving, I realized the water was dripping from the air conditioner above. We called the young man (hostess) and said the table was too small and wet. He said I can see that, which got under my collar a little. I asked for a bigger table, and he said we'd have to wait, but then was told he could sit at us the long table they have. Problem fixed! Our waitress was wonderful. We started with the shrimp appetizer. It was amazing! I had the burger and fries. I think may have been one of the best burgers I've ever eaten! The fries were perfect. My husband had the cod sandwich. It was crispy and delicious. The Caesar salad was excellent. The drinks were strong, but seemed like a small pour. The crème brûlée had great flavor. Thought a longer dish for more crisp top would have made it perfect. I think they really tried to make it a cozy beer hang out. But the tiny tables and the short sofa tables are kinda a waste of space. There was a line out the door as we were leaving. Gave 5 stars cause food and our waitress was excellent! We cant wait to eat here again, as long as I'm not put at a tiny table.

We started with the fried green tomatoes. Amazing. We've been on a .mission to find the best Fried Green Tomatoes and these might just be the tops in the south! They came out piping hot, crispy (not soggy) on the outside, firm green tomatoes on the inside. The microgreens, balsamic drizzle with dollop of goat cheese elevated this dish even further. The blackened Mahi fish tacos were so incredibly flavorful and fresh. I loved that everything is fresh and made in-house. The shells, the mango salsa, the chipotle sauce and the blackened Mahi were all so fresh and worked so well together. My family got the margarita flatbread pizza and caprese salad. The flatbread pizza was crispy, light and fresh. The caprese came with a wonderful pesto that accompanied the garden ripe tomatoes, fresh mozzarella and balsamic. The service was a little swamped (stressed) as they were super busy during a weekday lunch. However, they were hustling and working hard to serve us... so can't really complain. Really can't say enough about this place. Great views from the pier, incredibly fresh food with a crew striving to take care of its patrons. One of the best places we've eaten at in the area. We definitely plan to be back.
