Ok, so the server was trying his best. But this is a place that spent waaaay too much on decoration and not enough on supplies and training. I ordered a Paloma but they had to look it up. Was then told there was no grapefruit juice. Ok, fairly typical Mexican drink at a taco place. The guy at the next table orders a sangria, that he's had here before, but apparently the bartender Adam, isn't working that night. One bartender knows the drinks? I ended up with their basic margarita. Came with a sidecar, and was still way too sweet. On the positive, the two tacos I had were huge and delicious. Great bang for your buck on food. But they seem more concerned with their bourbon collection than actually providing a decent bar service. I'd come back if I was hungry, but not if I was thirsty. read more

I went to Agave and Rye for the the first time this past weekend and I rather disappointed at the food and drinks we received. We ordered 2 prickly pear margaritas and guacamole. The margaritas were so sickly sweet with syrup that you couldn't taste anything else. The guacamole was not not made properly. There were no spices like garlic or cilantro in the guacamole not to mention I looked and the avocados weren't mashed or mixed in!! There was a whole half of avocado just stuck at the bottom of the cup. Very poor presentation!! I did order the Elote but after being served the guacamole, I canceled the order. It was the first and last time I will visit this establishment. Not to mention the price of those items? Just under $50 dollars! Not good do better!! read more

I'll start with the positives... parking is very easy for this location and the decor of the restaurant is so colorful and beautiful. Unfortunately, it fell flat after that. Service was very slow but very friendly. Ordered the Brussels sprouts and they were large ones that weren't cooked long enough and were impossible to eat. When it arrived, we had to ask for plates and silverware. Plates came over quickly but then we sat for 10 minutes waiting for silverware and had to ask again. By the time we got it, the food was cold. I opened the napkin and there was only a fork. I had to then wait for a knife since the Brussels sprouts were so large. The knife wouldn't even cut through it. Then I ordered the Rangoon taco thinking I'd be getting 2 tacos since it was listed on the menu as (2) flour tortillas. Well it was just one taco and it was wrapped in two tortillas. Very confusing on the menu since two of us ordered these thinking we'd get two tacos. I also felt there was way too much packed into the taco it was so messy to eat. The drinks were pretty pricey and the only wine they had was in a can. Not what I was expecting coming here and sadly didn't meet my expectations. read more

The lobster/ mac taco (can't remember the name, fajita burrito and Brussel sprouts were fantastic. Defiantly get the queso blanket with the tacos. The margaritas were really good. We stopped here during a long drive across the country. We were greeted by a hostess who was friendly and made you feel very welcome. Our waiter, Dylan, was friendly and efficient. I have a couple food allergies and he was very helpful with the menu. Went out of his way to make sure we ordered the right food. Everything was delicious. Service was S-L-O-W.....restaurant wasn't even busy but lunch took 1.5 hours to complete for cheese dip and 2 tacos. The appetizer ordered (cheese chorizo dip) came out wrong....no chorizo or salsa (as menu detailed). No refills on drinks. The MAHI taco was awful....two bites and set it aside. The fish had an extreme strong flavor to it (like it was bad) which Mahi should be mild tasting. Pricey for "tacos" and dip (which was served wrong) ...$51. We've only eaten at the restaurant twice but the food was good enough to continue to get take out from time to time. The cauliflower bites are REALLY good & very unexpected. We came on Taco Tuesday. Since we've never been here we ordered off the special menu and Holy cow it didn't disappoint! We ordered chips and queso...a generous amount of both, and an Alderman and a bees knees. While the Alderman was good, the bees knees was great! Chicken and just the right amount of spice for me. Our server was kind and attentive, and happy to answer our questions. While I don't "get" the decor (graffiti, dog statues and an almost obscene amount of chandeliers... lol) who cares? An epic disappointment. Drove past the other day and looked up the menu, which sounded great. I failed to look at the reviews., my bad. We went today and had the chips and salsa roja, three epic tacos, the Plain Jane, the Happy Pappy and the Rico Suerve, as well as the birra street tacos. The chips amwere hard and crunchy and had no corn flavor to them at all. The salsa was flavorful, but nearly ice cold. Each epic taco was so bland in flavor that it boggles the mind that they are the main draw. We basically picked them apart and ate the protein out so it wasn't a complete loss. BUT!!!! and this is a pretty big but, the birra street tacos are the bomb and if that's all we had ordered we would have been raving about this place to anyone who would listen. Our waitress was very good, she gets four stars on her own. The ambiance was fine. We were driving through and I'm SO glad we didn't judge this place on Yelp reviews. We had easily one of the best meals we've had in the last few years! We started with the Corn Fritters, the Brussels Sprouts, and a side of Mexican rice. The Corn fritters were amazing, just the right amount of spice and the dip chilled things out perfectly for a great bite. We will be talking about the Brussels Sprouts for years - I cannot even express how well composed the flavors are. The Mexican rice was engulfed quickly by my kids, I snagged a bite and it was also well balanced and I appreciated the visible vegatables in the rice! For our meal the adults had The Good Wolf and The Easy Ranchero tacos which were incredibly flavorful and balanced. My kids got a Beef Birria and the Epic Bacon Smash Burger, they both enjoyed their meals. My oldest gave me a look when the Birria was placed in front of him as he was worried he wouldn't like it, I said just try it and he took a bite and his eyes almost fell out of his head it was so delicious! He ate 2.5 tacos as a fairly little but growing guy and left his dad only 1/2 a taco which he said was so delicious like pot roast on a taco. We appreciate the ambiance inside the restaurant, the exterior very much blends with the upscale mall surrounding it, once you get inside there is a juxtaposition of the bougie mall vibes with the casual atmosphere inside with a variety of murals, modern art. The food served is casual and messy but very high end, in my opinion better than some of the excellent restaurants we've been to in NYC and Boston in the last year. I can't say enough about this place that is having me hope we find more reasons to drive through Perrysburg Ohio over the coming years! I also wanted to say that one of my kids is autistic and often restaurants with a similar interior vibe feel the need to have loud thumping bass to match that modern industrial atmosphere and they quickly become very uncomfortable for him. The music was present but at a volume that allowed us to speak without raising our voices, and not at all bothersome for those with sensitive sensory systems. And finally my highest accolades to the staff, the hostesses saw our kids and informed me of where the bathroom is as we entered, our waitress was super attentive despite seemingly having almost every table in the restaurant in her purview. It seemed the communication between staff was well managed, there were folks from the kitchen running food out at times and I didn't see any mistakes with delivery to the tables surrounding us. Every other time we go there we are usually met with good service. On Saturday early afternoon we were seated outside and waited over 30 min to even get our water, let alone our drinks. Was given the wrong beer twice. Waited another 20 min for our app we ordered with our drinks. Waitress never came out and gave us updates or asked if we needed anything. When another group was seated with a different waitress they had their drinks within 10 min and apps before we even had food delivered. Also I don't believe the waitresses should be having their AirPods in when servicing the customers. read more

It's not your typical old school taco joint. I just finished my meal and I'm very happy with my experience in a restaurant that is new to me. The interior of the dining room is not what you would expect. It's low hanging crystal chandlers combined with a art deco theme with Mexican accents is a perfect introduction to the vibe of the dining experience. My server Jeremy was very attentive and involved with helping me through a menu with ample choices for meals and drinks. Then after he shows me the menu he tells me that the next time I dine here, the menu will have changed. The menu changes every few months to allow for inclusion of items for the kitchen that may not be available other times of the year. With a constantly evolving menu the kitchen is always staying fresh. My meal was the taco they call the the bomb. It was a combination of steak and shrimp with mac & cheese. The flavors worked beautifully together. The person planing meals and organizing the menu is inventive. There is a lot of food and flavors being served in a double shell taco. I would recommend ordering to take advantage of the option of having the meal served deconstructed with the tortilla served on the side and filling them at the table. The bar is very well stocked and able to provide you with a libation of your choice with a smile. Other cocktails than margaritas pair will with their offerings. Food was great as always! We've been there many times and had a blast! But tonight our appetizer was placed after our meal was served, and we were advised we couldn't order more drinks because of an Ohio ordinance limiting quantities per hour. We were told we could wait 20 more minutes to order drinks. We've been patronizing bars Iand restaraunts in NW Ohio for years, and this was a first. Our son is in the military and just returned after 8 years stationed overseas, and this was his first night out. Strong drinks that were very good. The negatives. 1.) too damn bright. It's like a damn lamp store in there. 2.) for the amount we paid there should be real silverware. We were given packaged plastic silverware with salt and pepper packs inside. This isn't a cafeteria. Please give real napkins and utensils. 3.) overpriced. A group of us wanted to try this new restaurant in Levis Commons out. The interior is super eclectic and fun and our waitress was super informed about the menu. The star of the show is the tacos. They are huge, so with an appetizer you only need one. We all got different ones and every single one we tried was amazing. I recommend the crown jewel and the bomb. The drinks are just a tad overpriced but they have great happy hour deals. The queso was really good but it could been great if it was hotter. Will definitely come again! read more
