Great beach side spot The bartender was very nice and made sure we had what we needed We ordered the top shelf pitcher of margaritas with strawberry flavor. It was pretty good. I really like the chicken fajita burritos My friend like her steak fajitas We also shared queso and chips It was comfortable seating at the bar. I would definitely go back again for good authentic Mexican.

Found this gem at the end of a long Saturday filled with beach bar crawling and it turned out to be the culinary highlight of the day! Agave's easy to miss, sitting on the crowded stretch of Gulf Boulevard in St. Pete Beach where parking is scarce and bar and restaurant options are everywhere. Do yourself a favor and take the time to discover this charming, family-owned and operated spot, especially if you love Mexican and Tex-Mex cuisine. It's sure to become a favorite. That Saturday, our party of three started with Agave's "Trio" -- house-made chips served with pico de gallo, guacamole, and cheese dip. Right away, we knew we'd found a great spot. The cheese dip was rich and had distinct flavor -- you could tell it did not come out of a jar. The guacamole was fresh and the pico had plenty of lime and cilantro flavor. Things just got better from there. Mel's Enchilada's de puerco came rolled in fresh corn tortillas and smothered in delicious white cheese, while our friend Dan had his hands full with his order of fajitas, a serving large enough for two, easily. I liked my choice best, though: Laguneros tacos! Four corn tortillas filled with a mix of beef, pork, chorizo, tomatoes, onions, peppers, jalapeños, and cilantro -- everything you could possible want as far as taco fillings in one combo. Try them for yourself -- they'll change your life! Of course, because they're so good, Agave is well known to locals in St. Pete Beach, so it gets busy and their dining room and bar are not big. If you go on a weekend, expect to wait for a table, especially during the day. Weekday evenings might be a better bet in terms of getting seated faster. Whenever you go, it will be worth the trip. Agave is one of our new favorites, especially since we live nearby. We'll definitely be back!

Agave has delicious Mexican food, reasonably priced. Ambiance and service really good!

Great street tacos - served by friendly staff! The carnitas are one of my favorites! Have nearly tried them all.

We wanted to eat something that would be filling, comforting, grab a few drinks but not necessarily need a whole sit down experience. So we stumbled upon Casita Taqueria. Thanks to the other awesome reviews, we knew this was the place to go! It literally feels like a casita when you walk in. They have lots of outdoor seating, picnic tables and such. Inside had a bit less seating (especially when it's raining and most of the people want to stay indoors). Either way, we found a table for 5 in no time. The ordering is easy, you go up to the register, order what you want and then they bring the food to you. No servers no waiters just easy. Highly recommend ordering a pitcher of margarita, we got the spicy jalapeño one and it was so refreshing! The food was delicious, freshly made, quick, and perfect for a lunch break. We got the tempeh nachos, rice and beans bowl, chips guac and salsa plus everything else the rest of our table got. We left full and our hearts happy! The ONLY THING I wish I would see was a super spicy house sauce. Which btw, they have a little fridge of their house made sauces for you to grab and enjoy. I just WISH there was a spicy one, the sweet one was pretty good!

Nueva Cantina is my neighborhood Mexican restaurant. The service is quick and the food is…read morescrumptious. My favorite is the burrito (carne asada or chicken) deep friend and topped with cheese. They are the most festive restaurant that comes to mind, and they always have creative drinks to go with the season. If there was a drawback, it would be parking, but I don't think it's bad enough to warrant diminishing the rating. Big shout out to Sheila who has served me and my fiancee a few times. She always takes great care of us, is so funny, and a warm spirit.

Five stars for the food, four stars for the service…read more We came at around 6 PM on a Saturday, we were one of the only tables there, still the service was extremely slow. Whenever our waitress came by, we essentially had to order everything we could think of because we wouldn't see her again for a while. That meant that we were often without water. However, the food is great so I would still recommend this place as long as you have time to spare. My sister got the secret margarita my husband got a skinny margarita and I got a mango margarita. I wouldn't get the mango margarita again, it was way too sweet. My sister said her secret margarita wasn't too sweet, and my husband's skinny margarita was quite good. We started with the chips and three dip trio. If I'm coming with just the kids and my husband, I would probably stick to the queso only, because my son loved the queso. I found the guacamole just OK, so I wouldn't order it again. I'm not sure if any of us loved the salsa. The chips were pretty good though. My husband loves the Birria taco. Both kids like the quesadillas, but one son really likes the waffle fries so next time we should ask for two cheese quesadillas one with Spanish rice for my younger son and the other with waffle fries for my older son. He wasn't a fan of the chicken nuggets that they come with. We also got the taco platter which came with a choice of four different proteins, you get three tacos each. So we got the beef Barbacoa, the steak, the grilled chicken, and the grilled shrimp. I only tried the steak and the grilled shrimp and both were delicious. The grilled shrimp was a little spicy. We walked out stuffed and brought home five tacos and a ton of chips. I definitely will continue to recommend for the food and we will probably be back as long as we have enough time. They decorate like crazy for each holiday. I really enjoy the decor. Also they have a large parking lot around back so parking is a breeze.

Just a quick update to my review to congratulate the place for getting some nice local press…read moreattention: http://www.tampabay.com/restaurants/bar-review-el-agave-gives-tequila-a-well-deserved-star-turn-20190801/ El Agave Bar is a fantastic addition to St Pete Beach that definitely sets itself apart from the completely uninspired Bud Light or Fireball shots dive bars it's surrounded by. If you're looking for a (mostly) tequila-based craft cocktail, or a break from the norm in walking distance from numerous hotels and beach bars, this is definitely the place to go. They're related to the excellent Agave restaurant two doors down in the same building, so certain Agave food items are available here. In any case, I stopped in for some drinks recently and loved everything. I started with their Oaxaca Old Fashioned, which is an orange-tasting mix of tequila, mezcal and bitters. Moved on to The Don; a great margarita. Finally, feeling the need to step it up, I asked for a recommendation on a reasonably priced smooth tequila to sip; the recommended Padre Azul anejo was exactly what I was looking for. The interior has more of a lounge vibe than a bar; lots of group seating areas, a pool table, chess, etc. Now, my six months later update to my original review; I've since ventured into the world of mezcal, and love coming here to find random new mezcals they get in. Mezcal is also produced from the agave plant, but unlike tequila, generally can't be produced in anywhere near the volume, so you aren't going to find it receiving the same attention tequila does, since no distiller could generate enough to keep up with the demand an advertising campaign would bring. I've found I really enjoy a smoky mezcal, straight up or even for an upgraded margarita, and many of the mezcals they serve here can also be purchased in bottle form at the liquor store next door (a family member of the owner owns that store).

This is a 2 star at best. Bad parking to start with. Few tables and a tourist trap restaurant…read more Over priced for below average food. Staff was just ok nothing special. I would rank it with taco bell food quality for 3 times the money.
