MADRE SANTA!!! That's it the Buffet is gone! It's a sad day indeed. Apparently it was not a money maker. I get it but I'm bummed. We still had a nice dinner as I decided to dip into the street tacos (with onion and cilantro of course) and they' were good. They are Carne Asada, Pastor and Carnitas but I would pass on the Tinga. We drove past this place a few times, and finally went there. Great decision, entering the restaurant itself gives you the feel of an old Mexican tavern. Definitely a positive feel, we ordered our food, our waitress Juanita was friendly and very helpful. We decided to order a couple of beers and a guacamole to start. The guacamole was delicious, we followed that with tacos ( lengua, chorizo and Shrimp) and a Pork Enchilada. They were both delicious. We shared a desert, the Chimichanga de Pastel de Queso, diferent but very good. We will definitely return the next time we are in town. read more

This place is awesome. The buffet is huge and packed with options, so there's something for everyone. The selection of meats is impressive, with plenty of well-seasoned choices that are fresh and flavorful. They also have a wide variety of salsas, ranging from mild to seriously spicy, which lets you customize every plate exactly how you like it. If you're vegetarian, you won't feel left out either. Had to check out this spot after hearing someone rave about it. Service was excellent! Our waitress was very attentive and helpful with picking out what we wanted. I ordered a taco salad with steak. Came for lunch buffet, which is advertised on signage outside the restaurant and Facebook. Friend drove an hour to meet me for buffet. Upon arrival, informed that the buffet is no longer an option. Ordered chips & salsa ($4.) Chips were hot crisp and seasoned properly. Salsa was thin watery and very mild, bits of fresh cilantro were a nice (and only) taste. Asked for more salsa, when told it would cost more we ordered guacamole ($5) which did come with more chips. The guacamole was fresh and chunky, but small ramekin portion. Disappointed that the buffet had been cancelled (yet still advertised on FB, and large outdoor signs) we ordered "Monday Special" burrito. ($10.99) Burrito tasted ok, nothing special and smallest burrito I've seen since Taco Bell value menu. After iced tea bill was $36.00 for a most forgettable experience. We were told that buffet would be open for Cinco de Mayo only if that helps anyone....it didn't help us on this day. Service was just OK, we tipped well because it's not the workers fault that buffet is still advertised. Better choices available for sure. Maybe tape over the huge BUFFET signs and an announcement on web platforms? read more

Okay, I am rarely surprised by a restaurant but this place is AWESOME. We came on recommendation of my partner's coworker. I'm taking time to review because I am functionally useless at buffets (been a long time since I've lamented my lack of appetite) and he is on his third trip. Literally, everything we have tried has been delicious. They do have a regular menu but we both opted for the buffet. So, this is not what I call "mid-Iowa Mexican" which I privately call less than stellar places run by folks that think mayo is spicy. This food has flavor. Seasonings have been used. The hot salsa is actually hot... and complex, and flavorful. This is not a can of crushed tomatoes and some Franks Red Hot. I could take shots of this. My partner has eaten his way through every meat offered. Steak fajita, pulled chicken, ground beef, chorizo and peppers. All fantastic. The Sangria is lovely and actually has a hint of cinnamon. (It's all wine based cocktails here, so I stuck to wine.) We did the buffet, as stated, so we didn't require much in the way of service but our server was super prompt and friendly, and kept our table from being overtaken by the debris of gluttony. There is fresh fruit (partner just pretty much just decimated a whole pineapple) and rice pudding... my one deep sadness is that I heard rumors of unlimited flan that was nowhere to be found. My soul weeps, but the second Sangria is helping. They have BOGO wine cocktails 3-6 so I will plan more carefully next time. To wrap up, this place is also quirky and maximalist in the best possible way. Like, a hip Mexican Auntie designed this and I want her to come to my house next. Also, kind of wondering if they'll let me buy that Frida painting. Come here, tell your friends. This buffet is my best discovery since the sunrise crepes at Marquis Cafe like 5 years ago. As someone who calls San Diego home, I still stand by saying San Diego has the best Mexican food in the world. I haven't had much luck since moving to Florida if you check my latest reviews you'll see i have been on a search for quality Mexican cuisine. I ordered a Carne Asada burrito which is always been my favorite. I customized it with no issues by adding potato. The difference between a Californian burrito to a traditional burrito is back home on the West Coast we put French fries or potato in the burrito. This place did not disappoint one bit. The burrito was packed full and with a variety of flavor in every bite that kept me wanting more and more. (I finished the entire burrito on the beach) yum yum more more! They season their potatoes deliciously with a mild spice and the sauces are almost perfect. I was not expecting this good of a burrito. It was the perfect burrito and im happy to say I found this place. They also have a buffet and I plan on coming back over and over. My Texas heart is beating!!!! This is the real deal, y'all. Nothing makes this chick happier than a big plate of beans, cheese, salsa, and more cheese. We ordered a big family takeout around 6pm on a Saturday and by 6:30pm we were digging into delicious takeout boxes filled to the brim. And fighting over bites of the life-changing guacamole. The guacamole is just under $7 and it is plenty to feed 4 hungry adults. While we are talking about bang for buck I think it is also important to mention that the chicken fajita dinner (is one of the most expensive items at $12) is fully loaded. You get plenty of toppings and so. much. food. The tortillas themselves are amazing. I actually ended up eating the fajitas like a bowl and the tortilla on the side. It was that good. My husband tried one of the tortas. This was a first for us. The bread was amazing, like a brioche cuban bread combo? Is that a thing? We should definitely make that a thing. The Black Bull is one of the most unique restaurants in Kenneth City. We chose the buffet option, so the expectations were not too high from the start. However, I expected a little bit more than what I encountered. For $16.50 a person, I wish it was more intentional. It seemed like it was just random foods on the the line. if you are sensitive like me, you will notice that they use cheap spices that contain additives (like msg.) Pretty much every time I get tacos here they hurt my gut- I keep irdering different ones to see if tgey won't, and they certainly do. I'm the kind of person who does well on whole foods, real foods, spices etc. - but rest assured they are using something that throws my gut off. I really really enjoyed this place it was our first diner experience since the quarantine! The place was really clean and nice, and I love the environment and music they played. We started with the chips and salsa which was homemade and super delicious! I had the mango Chilada and it was so good! For Our entrées I had the chili relleno With pork, and my fiancé had the pork enchiladas and both were so good! The homemade hot sauce was literally everything and they have a great 550 taco Tuesday special with two tacos and a corona! I can't wait to go back for taco Tuesday :-) We have the Flawn for dessert which tasted like Leche flan if you're Filipino then you'll know, but it was so delicious and homemade as well. New favorite Mexican place! This tex-mex loving, Houstonian, has finally found a place that reminds her of home! I think it's family run, so there's a little to be learned in the organization process (I called in our order and they forgot to send it to the kitchen), but the food makes up for those minor things. We got a pollo con queso quesadilla which came just as it should. We also got the chicken fajitas and yum! Love the flavor of the chicken! As a fajita plate often is, the portion is plenty for me to enjoy tomorrow too. Also, we had to try the guacamole, because you can't judge Mexican without. So delicious! Cool and flavorful. The pico that came with meals had just the right zest, and while the salsa but a bit too spicy for me it was tasty. Ready to get back and try the enchiladas! PS: don't read old reviews because the owners have changed PPS: I am not sure if they home-make their flour tortillas, (I'm on the hunt someone please share!) BUT they were very good. Not all dives are delicious... In the famous words of Rich D., "I ate here so you don't have to." Since the name is Toro Negro, it should be a solid reminder that this is mainly a beef place. Steak style beef, not ground beef. Everything else comes secondary. The people in my party tried everything from tacos to chimichangas to stew. All were quite lousy, like even worse than your neighborhood melty-cheese-covered-Mexican-restaurant-that-your-co-workers-like-to-go-to-for-margaritas bad. Worse than that. There were only three tables of customers on a Saturday night, it was really depressing. Half of the lights were turned off, it was around 6:00pm. Our waitress was depressed and inconvenienced by us eating there. Everyone else eating there was depressed. Even the locals that were in-the-know to order the steak fajitas were moping as they chewed. Cheese dip is room temperature liquid out of a can. They even put this stuff on top of meals! The free tooth-cracking chips and salsa don't make up for the sad food. If my plate of withered lettuce-covered "food" could make a face, it would have been a frown. read more
