Bogo margaritas and the best carne asada tacos. Service is fantastic with a great authentic ambience. Our go to Mexican restaurant.

Reviewing the to-go service only! Ordered a Mexican pizza and jalapeño poppers. First of all, they're great with substitutions especially if you're vegetarian. Mexican pizza was fire!! It's large enough for 2, maybe 3 if just as an appetizer. It's a yum and fresher version of the beloved Taco Bell item. The jalapeño poppers were also perfectly cheesed and deliciously tangy. Wish it came with a dipping sauce but maybe it does in the restaurant. Overall, very pleased with the food. Def ordering again.

Lunch on a Sunday with friends. As a person that eats only seafood and vegetarian options, there was a lot to choose from. Once you sit, you get chips and salsa. The salsa was delicious! The chips were warm and a great appetizer. We ordered waters and a margarita. We then ordered cheese enchiladas, the Mexican combo and the camarones tacos. Each came with two sides (which is a lot). I got pinto beans and a salad, my friends got black beans and rice. The servings after large and quite good. The shrimp had a kick to it which I liked and came with cabbage. Everyone enjoyed their dishes. The service was quite good. I have had better Mexican food around town but overall it's pretty good.

Fast service. Good food, the Mexican rice wasn't my favorite but it did the job. Tables spread out, and super bright inside. Got the 2 for $14 margs and they were amazing!! I recommend the watermelon margarita. I ordered a burrito and it was big!! I could only eat half. I will return to this spot.

I'm not much of an eater of Caramel. But if you're one of those Caramel-eaters, this is not the place for you. They mainly just serve Tex Mex... not a lot of Caramel stuff. Sorry. Pretty standard Tex-Mex food with pretty decent prices but definitely not a place that I would make a habit of coming. I only ate here because we was starving and most of the places that we wanted to go hadfortunately closed after we got out of Ding Tea in Pinellas Park. Service was fine and prices were okay, but the food was very bland, and reminded me of the kind of so-called Mexican at my college.

Gosh, I wanted so badly to just love this place. As a past Houstonian, I am just itching for some great tex Mex but this just didn't but the mark. Just a little bland. :/

Interesting display case when you first walk in..

I truly remember this establishment when I went there. It was one of my last nights in Tampa and I needed some Mexican food. I was craving it and my boyfriend decided that this was a good place to go. Well... the waitstaff was very nonchalant. The establishment was very inviting and the food was very mediocre. I bought guacamole, chips, shrimp tacos, black beans, and Mexican rice. The rice was very dry, the black beans were good. However, the shrimp tacos were a bust. The shrimp was dry like it was grilled too long. The corn tortilla was very chewy. I know it is supposed to be right? But can it be hot and chewy, please? The chips were supposed to be homemade chips but I know they tasted store-bought and stale. The best thing about the meal was the gauc and black beans. I was disappointed in spending $24 for this meal and the main course was not even appeasing to my appetite. Needless to say that I won't be back.

What I ordered was good but it was an appetizer so it was only 9.99. My son ordered three tacos and was 13.69 and he said they were only ok. He thinks Tijuana flats are 10 times better and twice as cheap. My daughter and 2 grandkids joined us so there was a total of 5 people for $90.00 (avg. of $18. Each) plus a hefty tip for Mexican food seems a bit expensive. If it was extraordinary maybe, but it wasn't. Can't recommend unless you just love Mexican food at steakhouse prices.

The best shredded beef enchiladas! Their enchilada sauce is mouth watering! The coldest Modelos in Florida.

**** Review 165 ****…read more Found this place while searching for a lunch place. So glad I decided to give it a try. It has been hard to find a good Mexican restaurant in the St. Pete area, most are too Tex/Mex or try to be "fancy" and everything in the menu is overpriced. This place had a local Mexican vibe, small and probably family owned. The staff were really nice and attentive. The place was clean, and plenty of items in the menu. Ordered the Lunch Fajitas with a Chile Relleno à la carte. The food was delicious, both the refried beans and the rice had flavor and no burning taste. The chile relleno was on the smaller size, but very tasty. They had a few beers on tap, and mostly bottles. I was actually surprised to see the place being a little slow during lunch hour, but they might be new. Either way, if your looks for great Mexican food in St. Pete, then you need to give them a try.

The chips were hot and super crunchy, and the salsa was very flavorful. I ordered the enchiladas rancheras and it was the perfect portion. The green sauce wasn't spicy but had lots of flavor, and I loved the texture of the chicken inside. The ambiance here is very well-decorated and cute, with some screens playing sports as well. The service was good too, our server was attentive and helpful with refills. The food came out very quickly as well.

Have only come for Taco Tuesday but what a great place for some very tasty mexican food. I really…read morelike their salsa and my son likes their queso (although it is a little bit thin). I also have tried their Enchiladas which I like chicken verde and try them everywhere. Theirs are very meaty and great sauce flavor. SOLID 5 STARS! Do…read morenot judge a book by its cover! This location is a converted motel. Senor Taco takes up rooms 1, 2 and 3. I have noticed this place for years and there are always cars out front when they're open. I've also noticed that a lot of the people going in and out are Mexicans. Now I know why. This place is authentic! It is a cheerful little Mexican restaurant with knickknacks brought across the border by the owners and proudly displayed everywhere there's room. I was greeted by Mama Nina as soon as I walked through the door and told to sit anywhere I liked. I was immediately served with chips, salsa, hot sauce, a large glass of ice water, and a menu. Mama Nina saw my interest in the little house plaques behind the register and proudly pointed out her favorite. The salsa is smooth and easy to pick up with the paper thin homemade chips. Neither salsa nor chips were too salty. A lot of places will serve you salty chips and salsa so that you will drink more. Señor Taco isn't trying for the cheap sale. This is the real deal. I immediately ordered Guacamole and Chips ($10.99). The guacamole is obviously homemade, had just the right amount of spice, and was topped with a sprinkle of pico de gallo, instead of having it mixed into the guacamole. Easily matched the best guacamole I've ever had. For my entrée, I ordered the fajita trio ($29.69). This was also the best fajitas I've ever had. Large slices of steak, chicken, and perfectly grilled shrimp, smothered in green and red peppers and onions. Brought out on a hot metal plate with a wooden under plate and still sizzling from the grill. You can see the steam in the photo. A separate plate held yellow rice, scoops of sour cream and guacamole, two different kinds of cheese, lettuce, and pico de gallo. The beans were served in a small crockpot because it was almost like a soup! I mixed the rice with the beans and ate it with the spoon provided. There were easily enough mixings to make 8 fajitas but I was only given 3 flour tortillas, although I'm sure I would have been served more if I asked. There was no way I could eat everything on the table. When I was full Mama Nina deftly packaged my leftovers to go. This was easily the best Mexican meal I have had here in Florida. Well worth the $50 including generous tip. There is a business for sale sign in the window. I hope they are moving to a better location. It always surprises me to find excellent restaurants in little out of the way holes in the wall. I'll be back!
