My husband an I came in and were greated ASAP, the menu had nothing that looked bad. So I had my husband pick something sizzling for me. Since I couldn't decide. Best choice ever! The food was flavorful and tender. The whole meal was simple and comforting, both in the best way possible. For the price you definitely got a good quality of food. My husband left full and I even had enough for a small left over. I highly recommend this for someone wanting a good and filling menu, with speedy and kind service. Also, I know it sounds goofy but I was sold after my first bite of salsa! This is by far the best salsa I have had in 20 years. Only comparing to a friends mother's homegrown, home made, salsa, from her familie's recipe from Puerto Rico. I loved it so much I had to get a container to go. This restaurant has a really nice set up. I like that there's a outdoor sitting area. The lady that served me was very nice. Lastly, I got the flautas with chicken and I have to say the food was full of flavor and really delicious. It was a large portion. Personally, I would share this meal with someone or you can have leftovers. I appreciate a business like this that has a welcoming atmosphere and delicious food. Stopped in on a hot day for a hot meal and unfortunately, the only thing hot was the sun. I don't think my plate was even room temp, which I found odd. The rice and beans were borderline cold, certainly tasted like they had been sitting on a counter for 20 minutes. The burrito was warm, but not hot. I used to come to this place about 5-6 years ago and absolutely loved the tacos. The service was very fast through the drive through, the cashier was also very kind. I ordered tacos and was amazed by the size of them they were huge for street tacos (In my opinion). They also look amazing. The only disappointment is that the carne asada in my tacos had absolutely no flavor. Tasted like lightly salted beef chuck that had been sitting in a pot all day versus a grill. The al pastor had the same issue unfortunately and not a single chunk of pineapple was found which is why I order al pastor. This place is good if you need something filling very quick. But otherwise I don't know when I will be back :( read more

Agave Taqueria, is my absolute go to for Mexican cuisine! The "Dedos Burrito" is my favorite and I usually can get two meals out of it. They have a drive-through that makes it so easy to grab and go, but a nice ambience in the quaint dining area. When my kids come to town, they are definitely a go to for the whole family. All I Gotta say is boom Shaka Leica Leica boom this place rocks originally being from Los Angeles and having a great deal of wonderful Mexican food to choose from both fine dining places such as Casa Vega and multitude of trucks this place shines. The guy asked how our food was, but I never ate. My two family members said theirs tasted ok, but not much flavor. Salsa had black pepper and zero taste of jalapeño. The chips were good. Probably my favorite Mexican restaurant in Anacortes. I'd been here pre-Covid but I'm especially happy in a pandemic world. They are very fast with takeout order and their drive-thru appeared to move quickly. I called in 4 hand-wrapped agave burritos (1 steak, 2 ground beef, 1 veggie) and they were ready in 10 minutes. They were all very good. The guac was sorta on one side but that's ok considering the price (just the fact that there's any guac at all was a benefit). The veggie burrito was surprisingly good (I'm not vegetarian but my sister is). The agave burrito is a good, consistent, tasty burrito that I will keep coming back for. For a long time, this was my favorite Mexican place in town (after Esteban's closed). I'd frequent here almost every weekend to get my fixing of carne asada tacos and my boyfriend would get their burritos. We've decided to stop going because the quality of food has deteriorated. 1) Multiple times, I've come and gotten carne asada tacos. The past 3 times, the carne asada has been old -- sometimes I'll find hard, kind of chewy, bits of meat in my tacos. When I first started coming, I'd get a few to have leftovers for the next day and they'd be fine if I heated them up and ate them. Past 3 times, I've almost thrown up because the meat is old. 2) Just generally, my partner and I have both gotten sick every time we've eaten there recently. At this point, it's on par with Taco Bell. Having stomach cramps for more than a few days really sucks! 3) other stuff there hasn't been the best quality either. The beans I got yesterday were suspiciously more brown than usual, and were kind of hard on the surface, and the salsa I had was extremely soupy and was almost flavorless. This is not to say that the people here are bad. There are many good people that work here, and their food was exceptional in the past. I'm not sure what happened, but I really think they need a health inspection and some motivation to start putting more love into the food they make. I'm not giving them 1 star because I still have hope, and I've had good experiences with them before. read more

The fish taco was really kinda gross - it's fish bits pressed into a thin patty and pan fried (what the????) Growing up in Texas and having spent years near the California-Mexican border, I know a thing or two about tacos. I guess my standards are high, but they are easily satisfied by the resident food trucks in Seattle, so I don't think I'm impossible to please. This place is just not that good. After a 5 1/2 hour trip whale watching, we were very hungry but also anxious to get back to Seattle. Agave Taqueria had decent reviews so we went by to get food. The young man at the cashier was sweet and helpful. The food was good. There is a drive-through if you wanted to take it on the go. Our original plan was to just grab the food inside use the bathroom and eat in the car but it was much easier to just eat inside and the food comes out pretty quick. Great bathroom if you're headed on a long trip after this like we were. I had a bean and cheese burrito that was delicious. My youngest daughter had rice and beans that she really liked. My son got a cheese quesadilla that came out looking beautiful with guacamole and sour cream on the side. The staff was great. read more
