    Mojarra
    Harry B.

We stopped for lunch at this "authentic" Mexican Taqueria wanting seafood. The hostess wasn't very patient or helpful describing the dishes to us non-latinos. My Mojarra was a beautifully presented fish but it was fried so crisply that the flesh was bound to the bones. I had to dig in with my fingers to pick the flesh off the skeleton. Not sure how authentic such an almost cinder- crispy dish is, but I wouldn't order it again -- and there's more flesh in three fish fingers than I managed to claw off this bony fish. The restaurant was spotlessly clean and table service was efficient, albeit without followup. I was a little disappointed in the experience.

Was hungry for Mexican and this place looked good. I wanted everything on the menu but chose the taco and tamal combo and sis ordered the taco combo. She chose chicken and I got an asada taco and pork tamale. I did have a Modela Negra to wash it down. Service was fast and super friendly. Bright welcoming interior. There was a telenovela on one tv and a Mexican concert on the other. Loved it! The food was really yummy. There was some chili oil on the table that was torquing hot and they brought a red sauce and a green sauce when they delivered the food. I would eat here again and again

    Friendly!

Wow what a great find. Our local friends told us about Thai amazing spot that serve authentic Mexican right next to the Shell. And they were right! The tacos are just out of this world. We loved the asada. And you have to have it with a Tamarindo soda. We tried it with both corn and flour and they were terrific. But a special shout-out to the burrito. It is not only flavorful but also generous. We loved the way that even our dairy-free version was so tasty and excellent. So next time you are just off the ferry, this is wioeth waiting for!

WOW!! This place is amazing! Blown away by how delicious our meal was. I got the carne asada taco combo, also ordered some carne sopes and a chicken tostada. Everything tasted amazing and the service was fast and extremely friendly! The cashier even brought us free vero mango lollipops! So nice of him to do Taqueria Mis 5 Estrellas es el mejor taqueria en Anacortes y voy a comer aquí mucho en el futuro.

Amazing tacos. I had lengua and cabeza which I love. Servings were generous. Just how I like my tacos, meat, lots of onions and cilantro. My tacos came with some grilled onion and grilled jalapeño. Our meal consisted of eight tacos and came to $23 before tip. A fantastic value and the food was . Highly recommend!

Eh. It was edible. Salsa was ok. Asada had fat chunks and the burrito was not rolled properly. A bit underseasoned.

The food was not very tasty. It was overpriced by a longshot. It was not what I've had from the Mexican restaurant.

Simply the best Mexican food in Anacortes! Just wish they would stock the Grapefruit Jarritos!

Easily best "authentic" Mexican food in town. Spicy, fresh, very very good food. Wish they had their liquor license!

My husband an I came in and were greated ASAP, the menu had nothing that looked bad. So I had my husband pick something sizzling for me. Since I couldn't decide. Best choice ever! The food was flavorful and tender. The whole meal was simple and comforting, both in the best way possible. For the price you definitely got a good quality of food. My husband left full and I even had enough for a small left over. I highly recommend this for someone wanting a good and filling menu, with speedy and kind service. Also, I know it sounds goofy but I was sold after my first bite of salsa! This is by far the best salsa I have had in 20 years. Only comparing to a friends mother's homegrown, home made, salsa, from her familie's recipe from Puerto Rico. I loved it so much I had to get a container to go. Far warning, there is a spicy and mid salsa. I was offered a dipping bowl of mid, but was loving the spicy one so much that I ended up declining. And getting the biggest To-go salsa there.

Lastly, I got the flautas with chicken and I have to say the food was full of flavor and really delicious. It was a large portion. Personally, I would share this meal with someone or you can have leftovers. I appreciate a business like this that has a welcoming atmosphere and delicious food. The other thing that I really appreciate is the cleanliness of this place. I will definitely be back.

One of my favorite spots to eat in Anacortes (to be fair I haven't been to a lot of places in…read moreAnacortes). It's a restaurant located in town, so can park on the street. Wasn't busy for brunch afternoon on Friday. It's got chill, friendly coastal vibes and is an easy ten minute post-meal walk to Q'elech'ilhch Park. -5/5 Crab Cakes - why are crab cakes so small ToT I wish I had more -5/5 Steamers (clams) - delicious sauce, goes well with the bread. A little bit of sand in some clams, but not a big issue when eating. -4.5/5 Poblano Grits and Shrimp - only rated slightly lower because I'm comparing it to the delicious crab cakes and clams. This dish really rounded out our meal and helped it feel more filling. -5/5 Bread - normally I would not note the complimentary bread, but this was really soft and delicious. I took some home to eat on the side. Also a good spot if you happen to be near the area for the Skagit Tulip Festival.

Ordered a side of sautéed mushrooms, which was really really good, but they literally gave me about a spoonful.
