    Mojarra
    Harry B.

We stopped for lunch at this "authentic" Mexican Taqueria wanting seafood. The hostess wasn't very patient or helpful describing the dishes to us non-latinos. My Mojarra was a beautifully presented fish but it was fried so crisply that the flesh was bound to the bones. I had to dig in with my fingers to pick the flesh off the skeleton. Not sure how authentic such an almost cinder- crispy dish is, but I wouldn't order it again -- and there's more flesh in three fish fingers than I managed to claw off this bony fish. The restaurant was spotlessly clean and table service was efficient, albeit without followup. I was a little disappointed in the experience.

Was hungry for Mexican and this place looked good. I wanted everything on the menu but chose the taco and tamal combo and sis ordered the taco combo. She chose chicken and I got an asada taco and pork tamale. I did have a Modela Negra to wash it down. Service was fast and super friendly. Bright welcoming interior. There was a telenovela on one tv and a Mexican concert on the other. Loved it! The food was really yummy. There was some chili oil on the table that was torquing hot and they brought a red sauce and a green sauce when they delivered the food. I would eat here again and again

Wow what a great find. Our local friends told us about Thai amazing spot that serve authentic Mexican right next to the Shell. And they were right! The tacos are just out of this world. We loved the asada. And you have to have it with a Tamarindo soda. We tried it with both corn and flour and they were terrific. But a special shout-out to the burrito. It is not only flavorful but also generous. We loved the way that even our dairy-free version was so tasty and excellent. So next time you are just off the ferry, this is wioeth waiting for!

WOW!! This place is amazing! Blown away by how delicious our meal was. I got the carne asada taco combo, also ordered some carne sopes and a chicken tostada. Everything tasted amazing and the service was fast and extremely friendly! The cashier even brought us free vero mango lollipops! So nice of him to do Taqueria Mis 5 Estrellas es el mejor taqueria en Anacortes y voy a comer aquí mucho en el futuro.

Amazing tacos. I had lengua and cabeza which I love. Servings were generous. Just how I like my tacos, meat, lots of onions and cilantro. My tacos came with some grilled onion and grilled jalapeño. Our meal consisted of eight tacos and came to $23 before tip. A fantastic value and the food was . Highly recommend!

Eh. It was edible. Salsa was ok. Asada had fat chunks and the burrito was not rolled properly. A bit underseasoned.

The food was not very tasty. It was overpriced by a longshot. It was not what I've had from the Mexican restaurant.

I was really looking forward to this, and was really let down by the service. As the rest of my family was ordering at the counter, my baby began crying so I hopped out of line to find somewhere quieter to give her a bottle. I sat down at a completely empty section, started feeding her, when a waitress came up to me and bluntly told me there's no open seating. I explained, with a crying baby in my arms, that I know there isn't open seating and that my family was at the counter ordering and that I wasn't planning on sitting in my current (again, completely empty section) spot and that I was just trying to calm down my daughter. I was met with an eye roll and an even blunter "Well there's no open seating here, you can't sit here." ????? Some understanding, or a suggestion of where to go, would have gone a long way. This was my first mother's day, and my first food outting with my daughter, and starting it off this way was so uncomfortable and awkward that I'm not sure I'll come back here.

The first was my birthday last year, chosen by a friend (I'd never heard of it). This year I was asked where I wanted to go. I did not hesitate to say here! I couldn't be anything other than delighted in my decision--from the pleasantness inside, the wonderful view from our window, the delightful staff and the incredible food and drinks, this place is wonderful. Lucky me that my birthday was on a Wednesday so I could be totally influenced to have oysters-on-the-half shell due to a generous Wednesday night special. I do love raw oysters--and these were so tiny and briny and so incredibly good, I could have eaten five dozen! (I am kicking myself for not finding out what kind they were, but no matter. I would be happy with any they are serving here, I am sure.) I had already planned on having the Oysters Rockefeller (known here as Manor Rockefeller), and so, despite having just downed some oysters, I went ahead anyway and am glad I did! They were wonderful. And there was no real reason for me to pause for a moment in my decision, having already had oysters, because these were soooooo different. It was almost like eating a delicious oyster casserole in a shell. The Mediterranean Mussels were wonderful! (Notice, I was having a dinner of appetizers...) The broth they came in was beautiful (and drinkable, if one were so inclined). I loved the surprising tastiness of the Mama Lil's Peppers swimming around in it. At first I wondered if they would be too hot and compete with the flavor--overwhelming it--but no! Not at all. They were a perfect and flavorful touch. Absolutely wonderful. (And having said that, I know that "pepper heat" is an individual thing--I can tolerate a goodly amount, fyi--I just didn't taste these as hot at all.) Our server, Drew, was immensely helpful (and always charming!) He paired our food with a delicious wine. I guess we would assign my bowl of clam chowder to the dessert category--very thick and creamy--along with a lovely after-dinner cocktail, made by the wonderful and delightful bartender, Sherry. She made me a lovely mocktail to start--I asked Drew to have the bartender just make something up on a whim. It was pretty, colorful and delish with what in it, I have no idea. But, not only was it delectable, it was a vision! All festive and fuchsia, with a "bartender's cherry," and a hot pink umbrella. When I learned Sherry made it, I was so happy because I remembered her from last year--very skilled and very fun to chat with. A wonderful birthday--I highly recommend the Manor.

Their burgers are awesome, the tater tots are creative and delicious. I tried the steak tacos the recently and they were very tasty, although the tortillas were slightly over toasted, resulting in a bit more crunch than you'd expect. Service is usually good. The bartenders handle table service, so you could end up with more than one person waiting on you rather than having a dedicated server.
