I had the Shrimp Enchiladas with the green tomatillo sauce, sour cream and avocado. I enjoyed both the friendly service and a delicious meal. I am a pescatarian and am happy to see their refried beans are not made with lard. Only been here twice and both times they messed up my order with an ingredient I specified I can not eat. And both times the man working had a horrible attitude about it, even asking me "why would you order that?" when I asked multiple times if the ingredient was in the dish and it was NOT listed on the menu. Met my son here for lunch. The service was terrible and the food was bland and VERY expensive. No big deal and it tasted canned. I really don't care to wright poor reviews, but this food had zero flavor across the board. Living in Edmonds, I feel a little spoiled by Omar's and Las Brisas Volcan. However, if you are to serve up some Mexican food anywhere in the World, I'd expect it to be tasty, with the flavors of your hometown, this was crap. I'd recommend you visit any other establishment in the vicinity. I tasted the rice, beans, enchilada, and the tamale, the beans tasted like beans, how do you screw beans up? Everything else tasted like nothing, or it all tasted the same, not one thing stood out. The best thing I came across here was their water, it did not disappoint as it was wet and cold. Best Mexican food in town, especially because portions are so generous that you get two meals for the price of one! It's run by family-friendly, kind folks who have watched our kids grow up. They bring us mild salsa with a spoon because they know our toddler will eat it like it's soup. :-) The food is always good; we've never had a bad meal here. Nothing fancy, everything flavorful. Favorite dishes are carne asada, enchiladas mole, enchiladas Mexico, camarones a la crema, pork chili verde, and chili rellenos. Ambiance is casual and cozy. Bring a leftover container! read more

Service was friendly and very accommodating but the food was just the opposite. My husband and I are house hunting in the area and can now check this one off as a restaurant not to go back to. I ordered the ranchero Carne Asada burrito and the enchilada sauce has a heavy flavor of ketchup. Husband's super nachos upgraded with chorizo was mostly refried beans and the chorizo tasted like ground beef. Chips were chewy. Thank you for the good service. This is the first Mexican restaurant in a long time that leaves me disappointed. The chips were cold and unsalted; the salsa very hot. I ordered a steak burrito; it came swimming in oil; inside and out. It was disgusting. I had to send it back. My aunt ordered Arroz con Camarones: it didn't look very appetizing but tasted pretty good. I ended eating half of it. We shared a flan: it was fine, if unremarkable. What Is Going On With This Place!??? Omg.. This was my final attempt to have a nice experience here. There is Nothing to come back for. Let's start with the filthy menus. They are farming bacteria. The cocktail menu is filthy with old chunks and stuff smeared on it. Something I expect from Chucky Cheese. The salsa AGAIN. If you don't want hot, then you get tomato purree water with some onions and a hint of cilantro, but don't expect that until after your meal comes, even though there was time to stand around. The long island Ice tea, lol. It's advertised as vodka, gin, and rum and triple sec. It was pretty much sweet and sour with ice. I asked if there were 2 1/2 shots in there and he shrugged with false confidence, " oh,there's a lot of that stuff in there." Dinner was ok. Nothing to write home about. Your traditional American Mexican food. Nothing genuine. The Worst lazy Mexican food. No special spices or recipe or anything. No bells or whistles. The tacos needed salsa or something saucy because the shredded ice berg was loaded on pretty thick . I asked yet Again for the salsa. I didn't eat much as it was mostly onion and tomatoe water. At the end she asked me, somewhat curtly, if I didn't like salsa. I stuttered, and said, well no, it was all onion and I didn't get it until the end of my meal The service is short of good. Sparse in fact. They were not busy (yes, on taco Tuesday @dinner o'clock they were not busy). They have no enthusiasm. The cocktails are mostly a mixer. The menus are farming bacteria. Came here with a large group (15-20). They're not used to serving large group. It took a while to get out orders in and get out food. This place is right off the strip. Locals come here. Food is not bad. I've never been to a Mexican restaurant in this area so I have nothing to compare it to. However, I've had better Mexican food in Bellevue. Service is good. read more

Our group was hungry after a hike in the area and decided to stop in for dinner. Interior is extremely old, dated, and run down, menus are sticky, and service was not good. I ordered a Deluxe Taco Salad with ground beef, and asked for a few toppings to be removed. My order was wrong, beef was greasy and runny, and ate just about half because I was so hungry, but it was gross. The server seemed to be frustrated in how to slapped the plates down - all to the wrong people for what we ordered. Forgot to bring lime, napkins, extra water, didn't clear plates that were stacking up.... The chips and salsa were good, though. Next time, we'll try somewhere else. read more

My second time coming here and I can officially say This place sucks. The food is average I've had better Mexican food that's forsure. The bartender doesn't know how to make drinks i ordered a "sex on the beach" one of the worse tasting ones I've had. They should just take it off the menu. We hit this spot up on our way home from the San Juan's. It's conveniently located on your way back to Seattle from the Anacortes ferry terminal and it's easy to park. The service was fast and they had plenty of options at reasonable prices. Chips and salsa were served right when we sat down. The salsa was fresh and slightly spicy but the chips were a little stale. They have a couple of TVs and had some sports highlights playing. I would think they play live games too but it was around 8-830pm when we were there. My husband and I shared the special which was Carne Asada, a chicken enchillada with mole sauce, rice, beans, guacamole, etc served with your choice of corn or flour tortillas for $16.95. I thought it was fairly priced as it was enough food for us to share. I always hope for fresh house made tortillas but those are harder to come by so we didn't find them here. Overall this was a decent spot to stop but I think I'll try somewhere else next time. read more

Yelp said they were open until 9 but as it turns out they close at 8:30. I walked in at 8:27 and offered to leave when I saw they were closing, but was told if I order quick, it wouldn't be a problem. The service was incredibly fast and even more friendly. Visiting Anacortes last week we stopped in Real Tequila for dinner. Due to COVID-19 they had limited seating inside and the staff followed proper safety protocols. Hubby ordered the veggie burrito. The burrito was good and non greasy. What would have made it better was a larger variety of veggies in it. Just our opinion. I ordered the veggie enchiladas. The plate was plenty of food for me. It tasted wonderful. Once again a side note of just a larger variety of veggies. We were given chips and salsa to start the meal. The salsa has a nice kick to it. It tasted so good had to get another bowl of it. The chips were warm and not greasy. The restaurant was clean and the prices were reasonable. read more

Went here on a recent Saturday afternoon with a friend, and we both ordered the deluxe tostada without meat. Ummm, it was pretty tasteless and I couldn't find much cheese. Chips seemed stale. The salsa was pretty hot, but ok, and the beer was cold. It's a cute place inside and sounds like it was good a couple years ago. Our server wasn't with it at all. Can't recommend it now based on our experience. Hopefully they'll read recent reviews and try to do better. read more

I was craving a breakfast burrito and we arrived right at opening time. Lucky for us the chef felt like accommodating our request and even cut it in half so we could split one 10" burrito. To start off, the chips and salsa we're good. My husband ordered a margarita and he said it was good as well. When we received our food, the first thing I noticed was how salty the beans were. Then I tried the rice and it was really bland (this is unfortunate because I planned on sharing with my 14m old). The pork tamale was decent, however the ground beef was very gritty. When I went to use the restroom, there was no toilet paper or seat covers. I don't think we will be returning. read more

In my opinion this place is a gamble. Don't waste your hard earned money. My family went for lunch around 12:30pm. Lunch was a disaster. Beef taquitos, chimichanga with beef, and taco salad with chicken....all bad. The taquitos were not crispy and not the rolled tacos we are used to. They were cut pieces of soggy tortilla filled with beef. They may have been fried but it was unclear. My husband reports they were served hot. The taco salad with chicken was a crispy taco salad shell with the usual stuffing but swimming on a plate of some kind of liquid. I ordered this for my step daughter without tomatoes and this came to us with tomatoes and again the liquid under the taco salad. The meal I had was a beef chimichanga. It was a small portion size. I ordered mine without lettuce. It was a small burrito sized tortilla filled with seasoned beef and topped with a tasty sauce, sour cream and guacamole. Again, it may have been fried but it was unclear. It was rubbery not crispy. It had seasoned meat juices running out of the bottom and was served very warm but not hot. That could have been because of the cold toppings but the inside should still be piping hot if it were fried. The plate was hot but the food was warm. Very disappointing. We ordered Three lunch entrées. As for drinks, we ordered a root beer (they have Pepsi products) and from the bar we ordered a house margarita and a Patron margarita. Both bar drinks were good. Our bill was $47.93. This was our second time at this restaurant and our first experience was at dinner time. It was a much better experience and the food was hot and tasted fresh. Roll the dice, you may get hot and fresh or something questionable. A side note: we did not finish our meals and we did not take home the leftovers. read more

My whole reason for stopping here is that it looked more authentic than most of the Mexican joints around here. I like the bright colors and the name itself seems like something I'd see at a local restaurant somewhere in Texas. The food is nothing to write home about; run-of-the-mill beans and rice and more or less bland food. I only had the chicken so I can't speak for the other meat options but it didn't taste like much whether it was in the tamale or the enchilada. If you've got a hankering for Mexican food and are in the area there are worse places you could eat at but don't expect anything fantastic. read more

The best Mexican food in town I think. Lots of fun. It's certainly as good as El Jinete in Mount Vernon. My wife had her first margarita in this restaurant and it thrilled her. Her sizzling fajita had big pieces of fish and the portions were very generous all around. The restaurant is family owned and operated and I think that makes a big difference. Friendly people, gracious hosts. Their playful children kept cooing and giggling at us. We'll certainly come back to here many times. read more

Real Dumpster! We arrived 8/3/19 for lunch. We were seated at a table, the waiter left to get the menus and two Negra Modelos, when he returned my wife showed him the swarm of ants on the table. He started brushing off the ants but decided to show us to another table but not before making a comment that the ants were to get rid of. I asked him if he had ever heard of the Health Department? After being seated at another table we placed our lunch orders. Our orders ARRIVED 3 1/2 minutes later which put me on alert. I had a Chalupa, burrito and enchilada plate with rice and beans. I ate the Chalupa because it had fresh lettuce and tomatoes on but ALL the other items bland and had a slight stale taste. My wife's food wasn't any better. we finished our Modelos and after a few bites of the food we asked for the check, paid and left. We went to this Mexican Restaurant because of the good reviews. The interior of this restaurant looks like a 3rd world shack and the food is in the same class. Being retired we spend three months a year every year in Guaymas Mexico and eat 80% of our meals at Mexican restaurants so we have a fairly good idea of what Mexican fare should taste like.
