If I could give zero stars I would. On the way back from store one day...my car started shaking and making an engine knocking sound with my check engine light flashing. Everything that was happening matched an Engine Misfire issue. So I purchased Ignition Coils & Spark Plugs to fix the issue. If I continued to drive my car before changing those things it could damage my Engine, Catalytic Converter etc. So while I wasn't driving my car then my Battery died. Once I had the parts delivered I setup Roadside assistance to come out and fix the spark plugs which is stated on State Farm's site is covered by my policy. I verified that with multiple people at State Farm & AGERO (State Farms's Roadside Assistance company). Then later other people said it wasn't covered. I have been a loyal State Farm customer for 2 decades but I have been left stranded 5 days straight. Now I am considering cancelling my insurance with State Farm and changing to another company. I have an excellent driving record with no accidents or tickets in decades yet my insurance rate prices are continually hiked up higher and higher for no reason. I'm not happy with that but haven't complained because I believed that if something happened State Farm would be there to help. SADLY I WAS WRONG. Then when I actually needed to use some of the "Benefits" of my policy...I have been given the run around from State Farm & Agero pointing blame at each other and denying me help for verified coverage. I get Lies, False Assurances and Condescension as if I'm an idiot and I'm just happening to misread what is clearly stated in black & white on State Farm's app. ****Mechanical Labor at the Breakdown site (up to one hour)**** NOWHERE DOES IT SAY ONLY IF I PURCHASE OVERPRICED PARTS FROM STATE FARM/AGERO ****We will not leave you stranded**** That is complete bullshit because I have been left stranded 5 days in a row THIS IS FALSE ADVERTISING and a great disservice to their customers which they clearly DO NOT care about. Dealing with a stolen catalytic converter. Made a claim with State Farm, my carrier. State Farm works with Agero as a contractor to handle towing. These guys are terrible: confused, bad phone skills, bad communication. They in turn contract with local towing companies to do the actual work. Car was supposed to be towed directly to a local body shop. However, Agero had given the towing company completely inaccurate information and told them to hold the car at the towing company facility. Had to spend 2.5 hours clarifying and going back and forth between Agero and the local towing company. This is something that should have been easily addressed but wasted a ton of time with these unprofessional %$#!. read more

Our complaints are like the previous 416 reviews. There is nobody in that company who cares about the people's car and the people that own them. From the time you place your call, they can and will leave you stranded regardless of the weather for a minimum of 9 hours, that's their M.O. Probably going to leave Progressive just because the company they use (Agero) for Roadside Assistance is absolutely horrendous. My vehicle was disabled at 6:30pm. It took them over an hour and multiple dropped calls to send a tow truck, who COULDN'T FIND MY CAR! I gave him EXACT COORDINATES to my car. He still could not find it. Come to find out, Agero gave them some address miles away, which is not the address I provided to them. I called them 5 different times trying to make sure they had the correct location of my vehicle which was stuck on a freeway. Agero is roadside service provider of my auto insurance carrier State Farm. On 9/30, my key was locked inside the car. I called State Farm Emergency Roadside for assistance, Agero sent someone from pop-a-lock in. The guy used a tool to open up a corner of car door and unlocked it. But few days later after heavy rain, I found out that the corner of car door was damaged and bent toward outside. As the result, rain water sipped into my car. I called State Farm to report the damage caused by roadside service. State Farm requested Agero to get in touch with me. But no one from Agero contacted for more than a week. On 10/19 I had to call Agero directly to file the complaint and sent them photos of damaged car door, phone log and text message log with Pop-a-lock as evidences. But then again I had not heard back from them until more than a month later, a person named Nick Celata (800-528-9416 x35048) called me. He ignored the evidences that I provided and closed the case, calling "no sufficient evidence". I called Agero immediately to request their management to do a fair review on the case, but then again, no one ever get back to me. There are plenty of customer complaints online and Better Business Bureau website about Agero Malpractice. This review is ZERO STARS. My experience with your roadside service was very poor. Your employee, named Ali, the name given to me was extremely rude. I called him four times for an expected arrival time, however he rejected the first three calls and went straight to voicemail. This was already unacceptable. Next, when he finally arrived, he asked and was insistent on putting on my spare tire that was very slim from the rest of my 3 tires. I already told him I don't feel comfortable with driving on a spare that doesn't match with my other tires and could end up in an accident and be in a worse situation than a flat tire. I also told him I paid for towing so I expected a tow. After he understood that, which didn't need to be mentioned at all by the way, he finally pulled my car up to his flat bed tow truck. However, as he was pulling my car up to his tow truck, he was scraping the end of my car on the cement. I told him to stop, he needs to do it another way. Ali gets out of my car, and insists he's not doing anything when clearly, he was damaging my car. What was clearly unacceptable for a service was that he told me he will leave if I don't like the way he is pulling my car up. My auto insurance company set up towing with Agero after my car was damaged in an accident. I'm certain that my insurance company had the correct address and name for the body shop I had spoken with to repair my car, this was approved by my insurance company as well. I also confirmed the body shop name and address with the Agero driver when he picked up my car around 4:00pm on a Tuesday. I emailed my body shop to expect it that day and did not receive a reply. I emailed and called the body shop Wednesday and Thursday but the car was nowhere to be found. I started calling my insurance company and Agero but no one could find my car after 2 days! My insurance company finally tracked the car down, which was now placed in storage by Agero. The driver never went to the designated body shop, instead he went to two other body shops who do not service my brand of vehicle and they refused to accept it. Agero said since we gave them a shop that could not service my car, it was placed in storage and now I would have to pay storage fees from Tuesday - Friday! They said I could not have the car towed to the shop until I paid the fees, and this would be Friday at the earliest. This was beyond unacceptable so I gave up on dealing with Agero and told my auto insurance company to sort it out. The company they hired, Arkidian, took photos of my son's car before loading it onto the flatbed, however, they did not take pictures after they dropped it at the repair shop. Agero determined that the shop is at fault because they don't have video evidence of the tow truck driver damaging my son's car. Now, coincidentally, the tow truck driver has been fired. I left USAA to join State Farm after 27 years. Only to find out that they also use Agero now. Unfortunately, I found out in a blizzard in Northern CA, while driving home from having an emergency procedure at the hospital. Since I live on a dirt road, Agero said I was SOOL and had to call someone else to get me home. You apparently can only get a tow if you are 10 feet from a PAVED road. I live on a gravel road. State Farm knew this when I purchased the policy a week ago. I waited 3 hours for Agero to tell me this. They expected me to get in my wheelchair, I'm a disabled veteran, and wheel my own happy A$$ home through 3ft of snow with my child and wait for a different tow company to come haul my new car to my house. I called a neighbor to take me home. Another 4 hours later Agero called to see how my tow service had gone. Unbelievable! And they wonder why 22 vets commit suicide a day in this country. read more

Another State Farm customer jumping ship because of Agero. I needed towed (my car was dead) in a parking garage. I relayed the location, the fact that it was in a parking garage, and provided the clearance. The first rep didn't pass the info on to the towing company. Two hours had passed, so we called the towing company who said thank goodness we called to let them know - they could not facilitate the tow. The second rep, after letting them know about the mistake on their end, (not passing on the info to the tow company) apologized, and stated she would fix it. We again, told her about our towing needs. Another hour passes by, and we call the new towing company (we obviously knew the info wasn't going to be supplied). They had no idea either, and could not do the tow. The third rep and supervisor apologized, and after being informed yet again of our towing situation (location, clearance, etc...) stated they would fix it. Fast forward to three more towing companies and, a few irate calls placed to Agero later.....No joke, this really happened, the final tow truck company gets assigned. We call the tow company, and inform them of our towing needs. They promise to drop by in 30 min., and have no issues (again, they weren't initially informed)...Fast forward 3 more hours (yeah, I had been trying to get towed from 4:30 PM, and ultimately did not get towed until 10:15 PM). They literally do not care about the customer. Finally got through their system and reached someone who eventually gave us the name of a tow company. We contacted the company who responded quickly. However Agero called back and then told us the company wasn't one of their providers...and they had given us the name! They argued with me, spoke over me, wouldn't listen, and insisted that I give them an address. When you're on the side of the road it's hard to find the address! I left my automobile insurance company of 34 years (State Farm) because of a horrendous experience with an Agero operator. (He locked my keys in my car and then damaged the car trying to get in.) It has been a complete horror getting service from them. I got into an accident and my car was towed to a tow lot. They had been saying for 3 days that they were requesting a tow truck to get my car to a repair shop. After 3 days of endlessly calling them, I found out they were requesting tows from a place that doesn't even tow. It was a tire center they were requesting tows from... I ended up having to pay $890 to get my car out of the tow lot and towed to the repair shop myself, and then get my insurance to reimburse me for it. This is the worst towing insurance company ever. My car died when I arrived at work..which happened to be a Chicago Police facility. I was dispatched two different towing companies. One was for regular customers and the other is what the city of Chicago contracted towing company. When the tow driver arrived... he asked the police staff about a 'how report' as if my car is to be impounded. After they told him that there's no tow report, then he calls me. When I arrived... I'm working as the police. I am a customer to get my car towed to the car dealership. He was confused as to why he was sent to the police station. He also uniformed me that my car will be towed into their towing yard for a day because the dealership isn't open til Monday. Btw....E&R is also one of the worst to deal with towing. They are only good for impound/relocations/accidents. So, my car was delivered to Toyota to get serviced. After my car fixed...and when I arrived to pick it up.... I discovered that my bumper grill in the front passenger seat... I later discovered that the front bumper has been cracked in the front....which was never been there. Upon their investigation... this Agero Customer Service didn't find the towing company reliable. I wasn't around the entire time for my car to get towed because ..... #1.. I had to go back to patrol the streets. #2..what took place when my car was unloaded at the towing yard? #3 what happened when it was loaded and unloaded at the towing yard? Used this roadside through my insurance company when I needed a tow. Waited for hours and was cancelled with the first tow truck scheduled. Had to pay $165 up front before first tow was even scheduled. I'm supposed to be covered for the first $100 of a tow service with my insurance company. I called the tow company directly that the bill was $175. So I saved $10 and wasted time when I could've called a tow myself. Customer support claims my tow was indeed $265 so I did get my $100 off, but won't provided itemized receipt. Will not ever use again. Lesson learned. read more

I ended up getting service from Agero through my towing coverage with USAA. It was awful. Agero did $1500 damage towing my car by removing the wheel and then driving my car into a parking spot with the wheel off. I had video proof of the tow doing damage from the security feed at my car repair shop. I submitted a damaged vehicle form and then they proceeded to ghost me for the next several months. I knew the emails and phone numbers I was calling were monitored, but no one replied or answered the phone. PRO TIP for anyone dealing with this in the future - I finally got a response after I filled out a complaint form with BBB and started calling and emailing every single day and threatening to continue to do so until they contacted me. I recommend calling different extensions too and asking to be transferred to your case manager from as many people as possible and letting them all know how long you've been trying to get a hold of them. After a few days of this, someone "mysteriously" was finally near the phone and told me I'd hear back shortly. They ghosted me again for a week but as soon as I started back up with being as annoying as possible they got back to me. Their next trick was "accidentally" mistyping my address to send the check to, which I called them out on and threatened to continue contacting them continuously again. The check arrived at my correct address three days after this interaction. Don't give up if they've damaged your car, keep heckling them until they get their act together. Good luck. read more

I use Liberty Mutual, who unfortunately uses Agero for roadside assistance claims. When my car broke down on the highway, the roadside assistance team told me it would be about an hour until a tow truck could come get the car.They ended up scheduling and canceling 4 different tow truck services. I waited on the side of the highway for 5 hours. I called the roadside assistance team about 15 times during that timeframe, and each agent had a different explanation as to why their services were taking so long. I gave them the exact address of where I was on the highway, and one of the agents sent the last tow truck driver to a residential address 40 minutes from my location. In the end, I had to personally communicate with the driver and send him the address myself so he could pick up the car. The roadside assistance team was unhelpful and it seemed many agents did not know what they were doing. I didn't expect to get roadside assistance within 30 minutes, but waiting for 5 hours is preposterous. The next day, I called them to inform them that the roadside assistance I received was awful, and after talking to a few agents, they agreed to reimburse me with $229.00, which was the cost for my car repair. They passed me on to Agero, the "company" they contract for roadside assistance. I write company with quotation marks because Agero seems to be even more unreliable and unhelpful than Liberty Mutual. They agreed to mail me a check within 2 weeks. After waiting a month, and emailing Agero 4 times for a follow-up during that entire month (they never responded), I called them. The agent told me she would need to talk to a supervisor, and the supervisor would call me that same day. That didn't happen. I called the next day, and the Agero agent told me that she looked through the notes in my case, and that nobody ever agreed to pay $229.00. She added that in the notes, it was mentioned that Agero had tried reaching out by calling, but I never answered. I checked my call logs and no numbers related to Agero were there, and I had no messages in my voicemail either, so that was not true. I never got the full amount reimbursed, and the check they sent was for $75. Agero is a terrible company, and the waiting times are not acceptable. Due to this experience, I will be switching to an insurance provider that doesn't use Agero, and I will always avoid this company. read more

This service is a joke. I'm unsure if they know what roadside assistance even means. My husband waited on the side of an unsafe hwy for over an hour and a half before contacting the insurance back asking where help was and when they're coming. It's freezing out and in the middle of the night where he'd just had a near miss with a deer and ended up with a flat. The insurance agent finally got back to him to report that Agero claimed they saw "tire change" and felt they didn't need to come right away and were gonna wait till later because they didn't realize it was in relation to an accident. So does this mean if you have a flat they assume the vehicle is abandoned and the person walks???? Not just any person but a soldier who was on his way to his military unit. And these are the type of people he has to fight to protect the country for. If my insurance didn't work with them I'd go somewhere else in a heartbeat. Sadly I have no choice. Only since there was not a zero star option are you receiving one. I've been trying to get my vehicle towed to the repair shop for THREE days. I'm going to contact State Farm and do whatever humanly possible to get them to drop Agero. Absolutely horrible service, attitudes and ability to accomplish simple tasks.
