A horrible towing company in Seattle (Allroad Towing) was dispatched by Cross Country Motor Club (the other business that Agero operates under). The first time, not only did they not show for 3 hours, stranding me and my wife and daughter, the towing company was unreachable and the representative at Cross Country was absolutely useless. I was able to find a tow truck on my own in under 30 minutes. If you want to complain to the auto club/insurance company roadside service that's at the hub of this terrible service, the name of that company is Agero. They're based on Medford, MA. They also do business as Cross Country Motor Club but also are the main call center for all of the insurance company roadside assistance services. They're the ones ultimately responsible for providing consumers with this horrible service. And while you're at it, cc the car company that uses Cross Country as their brand's roadside service. Maybe then the message will get through. UPDATE (12/29/15): Heard from Agero directly regarding my concerns and the poor service of the towing company they dispatched. They took my concerns seriously and addressed them in full and showed a genuine willingness to take direct customer feedback and act on it. My advice would be that if you get poor roadside service that's contracted through Agero, that you notify them directly. They have over 30,000 tow providers. I'm sure they can't perform quality assurance checks on all of them, so they need feedback from customers to make sure that the bad ones are weeded out. read more

I have roadside assistance coverage through Erie, and Erie has a contract with Agero. Feb. 20, 2026, I needed a short tow (six blocks). Eight calls to my agency, two of which were transferred to Agero. Still no service. I had to get and pay for my own tow, as if I had no insurance for this. Then send the invoice to my agency for reimbursement. (Not sure where Erie disappeared to through all of this.) Anybody who has any question about dealing with Agero should read the rest of the reviews on Yelp, right here. And to back this up, try looking at Trust Pilot, another solid review site. Nearly all one-star reviews on both sites, and many of these are recent reviews. By the time you see a review from 2024, you will have read a LOT of bad reviews that were more recent. read more

This company took two hours to arrive at our house for a tow to repair shop 3 miles away. Address given to Driver Driver did not speak or read English. Tow truck driver took our vehicle to the wrong place. Took us four hours to find out where after searching up and down San Pedro Ave. San Antonio finally found it at Eurasian auto. It's supposed to have been taken to Christian Brothers Auto. Phone number for the tow company does not work. Agero is absolutely the worst roadside assistance company you could have. They do not communicate, they hire unqualified drivers and that they don't speak or read English and they do not communicate with you as to where your car is dropped off. Definitely gonna make a Better Business Bureau complaint quality and value is very very poor. read more

Horrible experience. Unfortunately StateFarm uses Agero towing dispatching. My car has been sitting in tow yard after an accident for several days waiting to be transported to a repair shop. On August 18, 2025 we contacted our insurance who sent out a rep to jump start our vehicle through Agero. Now, 2.5 months later, our damage claim is behind denied because there is not enough evidence. FACT: Before YOUR agent showed up, our vehicle simply said low battery. Everything else worked. Dash came on. Lights came on. Rear hatch and window opened. Running boards engaged. Car would respond when using the key fob. Clearly had power just a lower battery. FACT: When your agent showed up he was LOST. He started at the fuse box under the hood - the total opposite side of the battery. FACT: YOUR agent then disconnected the fuse block from the top of the battery and connected 1 jumper cable directly to the positive post of the battery and the other to the starter relay on the fuse. HE THEN FED POWER THERE WHICH IN TURNED FRIED THE STARTER RELAY. FACT: After YOUR agent left the car would do nothing. No lights. No dash. Running boards didn't engage. Hatch would not open. FACT: Car was towed by someone way more component than YOUR agent directly to the dealership and the dealership confirmed the starter relay had been fried! We should not have to provide videos/photos as evidence as we rely on the services to help us NOT make things worse. You services have been horrendous from the beginning. read more

My son called for roadside assistance and was given an ETA for an hour to an hour and half. He called back after an hour and half and they extended it another hour. This went on for multiple hours and finally after 6 hours a tow truck showed up. Later we found out that the price was double what we could have paid directly for a tow company and they would have been there in an hour. The worst. They dispatch the worst, lying tow drivers that damage your vehicle. Then Agero denies your claim with clear evidence including dashcam footage and pictures before and after the tow. When you call to check on your claim, you sit on the phone on hold for an hour just to get someone that can't do anything but attempt to transfer your call to the agent working on the claim. The agent is always too busy to take a call and never calls back. So you will have to demand to speak to someone in charge just so your denied claim is looked at properly. Once you do that, your claim decision is suddenly reversed in your favor after over a month of failed calls, sending countless proof of evidence, and reporting them to the BBB. All of this over some damaged wheels. My wheels were perfect before the tow and the dumb agent kept stating it was prior damage, although I had multiple pics and dashcam footage of the tow driver driving my vehicle into the railing of the tow bed. The tow driver even lied saying that he had pics and that he winched my vehicle onto the tow bed when the dashcam footage showed otherwise. Progressive insurance uses this company and I am most likely switching from them because of this dumb situation. read more

They said because I am not in danger they will reschedule me. My issue has nothing to do with how long, it has everything to do with setting expectations then reneging on them. 0 accountability. 0 care. She placed a call to USAA / Agero and was given a forty five minute to a hundred and ninety minute ETA when the tow truck driver called he said where are you? I said with the vehicle he says well I'm at 4647 South Norfolk Way I said well. The vehicle is at 15800 East Chambers Rd. he got angry and canceled the call. I've contacted the public utilities commission. I am now contacting the department of regulatory agencies here in Colorado I wouldn't recommend USAA or Aro to anyone. read more

These folks were used to attempt to tow my car after it was vandalized. Progressive is who contacted them. They are a third party who arranges tows. So what happens is you have your progressive or any insurance agent. Insurance figures out repair company. Then Agero arranges a tow. So you deal with 4 entities. Insurance, repair shop, tow company and these guys. Can't imagine why there would be a problem right? They first called, someone named Chen. I had no idea what she was saying. Then someone else called, line kept breaking up. Then I got a text pretending to be progressive, saying a had a tow scheduled. But the tow was supposed to be 5 days later. Progressive confirmed they ie Agero screwed up. So now I will have to do all myself. As I don't trust Agero. My State Farm claims agent assigned a tow through Agero. Throughout multiple calls, the Agero representative provided inaccurate information and refused to accept responsibility for the failures of the assigned tow company, OT&BU. Agero first claimed the tow company scheduled the pickup for the next business day because they believed the vehicle was being taken to a repair shop. This was never the case. From the initial request around 1:00 PM, it was clearly stated the vehicle was to be towed to my residence. All businesses were open at that time. Later, I was told the tow company was en route, yet I continued receiving texts pushing the pickup time later, with no response to calls or texts. I went to the tow lot at 4:45 PM, paid all fees owed, and was told the tow truck should arrive shortly, as it had reportedly been dispatched around 2:15 PM. I continued calling hourly until 8:00 PM, but the tow truck never arrived. The next morning, the tow lot confirmed no tow driver ever came by, and they are open 24 hours. Despite this, the Agero representative claimed the driver attempted pickup but was turned away due to unpaid fees, which is false. I have receipts proving payment. As a result, my vehicle accrued an additional day of storage fees. The Agero representative refused to cover these added charges caused by their failure. I requested reassignment of the tow to the tow lot currently holding my vehicle, but was told no, followed by another inaccurate claim that the company was not active in Agero's system, despite the fact they regularly run Agero calls. Another tow company has now been assigned. Overall, I am appalled by Agero's lack of accountability, poor communication, and the resulting financial impact on me. read more

One of the worst experiences with any company in my entire life. My wife and I crashed in a rural area this past weekend due to ice on a road during a snow storm. We were directed to use Agero by our USAA insurance. Throughout the next 48 hours, we spent at least 4 hours on the phone talking to various customer service reps in a call center who knew nothing about towing and were extraordinarily unhelpful. None of the information we provided to them was ever written down, and they continually pushed back the date and time that a tow truck was supposed to come. We crashed in the middle of a snow storm, and luckily knew some local people to pick us up and stay with. If our fate was left solely up to Agero we likely would have died. Eventually, we called around to local towing companies around 48 hours after the crash and were told that Agero had NOT EVEN REACHED TO ANYONE. We cancelled our tow request with Agero and worked directly with a local tower who charged us 200 dollars less for their services than Agero would have. Even after we canceled our request for towing, they STILL attempted to charge us and to coordinate towing. We had to call three times to actually cancel our request. Overall quite a horrendous experience, this company is completely incompetent and I will never use or recommend them to anyone. I hope that insurance companies stop contracting with them due to how awful their service is. read more

Have this through my statefarm insurance. My first time ever having to use roadside assistance and this was absolute TRASH. I called and requested a tow, told me i only had 20 miles with my roadside benefit and the place I needed towing to was 40 miles away. They told me I needed to pay the extra 20 miles which came out to $187.00... They told me they found a tow truck and they were being dispatched. I spoke with the tow guy and he told me he was 30 minutes out... 45 mins later no tow truck. I called him to ask his ETA and he said agero CANCELED the ride because the tow truck requested $30 more dollars to make up for the extra miles and agero was refusing to pay extra. They never called me, texted me, emailed me nothing about the service being canceled and me needing to wait for another driver. The link they sent me to track the driver still showed somebody was "arriving soon". When I called agero back, they explained they were refusing to pay extra and I needed to cancel my tow request and FIND A TOW TRUCK ON MY OWN. I will be calling statefarm to cancel this extra piece of crap that IM PAYING FOR. read more

Was supposed to tow car 10 miles to collision shop, but it was closed. So they took it to their yard. (That part understandable). But then they just kept it there and did not notify anyone. I thought it was at the shop the whole time. I called 3 days later to check on things and learned that it never left their yard. I asked them when they would take the car to the shop,and they said I would have to contact my insurance again. I did, and they were supposed to deliver it the next day. They said that they did and left it with someone named Bree, but that seemed to be a fake name, and the car was STILL in their yard. There is 1 star because the bare minimum of my car actually making it to the destination without being broken into or stolen by end of day. Through USAA I scheduled a towing service the day before with a pick up between 6:00am - 8:00am. I talked to numerous employees, the first was at 6:30 am and he confirmed a driver was en route to my car. Throughout the next 6.5 hours I was continuously reassured the driver was en route. My car was not dropped off until 2:20 pm. Unless the driver is coming from another state, I am confused why there was a 6.5+ hour time discrepancy. During the 6.5 hours that my car sat waiting to be towed, it was unlocked and with the key inside. This is a huge security risk for obvious reasons. I called the office to submit a complaint and the man who answered said there's nothing he could do and that I need to be more understanding that the road is unpredictable. I asked to be transferred to someone that could offer better help and he disconnected the line. As a proud client to USAA, I'm shocked they would seek services from such a terrible company, which clearly lacks concern for customer satisfaction and doesn't even seem to care if the bare minimum service gets completed. I would rather pay money for a reliable service than receive my insurance coverage toward this company ever again. My car should have been fixed by the end of today but now I won't get it back until tomorrow night and I will have to spend money to uber to/from work. If you're reading this and USAA has assigned alegro to your roadside assistance request, cancel immediately! You're better off buying AAA or paying out of pocket. For the record- I blame the company not the driver. From what I've read online, it seems that this company overworks and underpays the drivers while overpromising its customers. This is a shameful business model. EDIT: a customer service representative called me to follow up on my complaint 1 day later and sent me a $40 Visa card to compensate for the poor services. After my State Farm claim was denied. I needed to have my Pathfinder towed from the collision Center to a mechanic's shop. On Friday 2/1/25 I contacted State Farm via the App to request a tow from the collision center to be scheduled for Saturday 9-9:30 since I need to get to the collision center at 9:00 to pay their tow bill of $267.00 for towing my truck 1.7 of a mile. I made sure I was walking through their door at 9am. Paid them 267.00...so they can release my Pathfinder to the AGERO contracted tow company. Expecting Agero's tow truck to show up in the next hour since I had "scheduled" this tow, I drove the Sam's club to get gas on 2 miles away. I check the app prior to heading back home and I didn't see any updates on the app regarding when my tow would arrive, so I called the roadside assistance number for AGERO to check the status. The customer service rep from AGERO that answered told me that their tow truck was onsite and about to tow my car as we speak. As me if I wanted to be transferred to him I declined because he "confirmed" the tow was picking up my truck, "as we speak". Unfortunately none of that was not true...the tow truck guy never arrived and he eventually called me and asked me where my truck was because he "though" it was on the side of the Highway. When I told him that my drive shaft broke while I was driving it and i had it towed to the collision center. He immediately told me that be didn't have the correct tow truck to move my truck! I was completely confused because my truck had been towed 3 times up until that point with no problem. AGERO Roadside Assistance third party that State Farm contracts with. I then had to reschedule the tow for Monday 2/3/25 and with the time zone differences AGERO sent out the tow truck at 6:30 am and mistakenly they thought they were sending him early. He gets there the 1st time they are closed. He then returns at 9am and ends up arguing with the asshole at the front desk of Crash Collision center who refused to release my truck starting incorrectly that I still owed them for their tow! The one I paid for on Saturday morning. The tow truck driver eventually called told me that the idiot at the front desk was trying to get him to pay the bill that was already PAID! I spoke to him and he said he would go back and get it when AGERO dispatches it to him for me to call them and request him to go back out. Which I did text me saying he was on his way to get my pathfinder...I then get a call from he then arrived loads my truck. Not before getting a call from AGERO road manager Angie who asked me what happened? I'm thinking she's wanting to know why they had to dispatch the tow truck out again. I explained that Crash Campions incorrectly held my car the first time since I had paid them on Sat with the expectation that my truck would be towed from their lot on Sat. Now it's Monday and I still need my disabled vehicle towed to the mechanic. Angie then tells me Oh I'm sorry but this will not be covered ! We are going to cancel this tow! I was irate! WTF you mean this won't be covered even after I paid the difference in the mileage limit to ensure my truck makes it to my preferred mechanic!?! I hung up on her pissed and contacted the tow guy immediately to let him know that AGERO would not be paying him for the tow my truck and to let me ZELLE him ASAP so we can get this done! Luckily her was a nice enough business man and understood the nonsense these company's put their paying customers through. Extremely disappointed with the service and handling of my claim by Agero. I contacted my insurance provider, Progressive, for a simple jumpstart. They assigned the request to Agero, who then dispatched Buffs Towing & Recovery. The technician who showed up was distracted, wearing headphones and talking on the phone while attempting to jumpstart my vehicle. She connected the cables incorrectly, and smoke started coming from my battery. She stood there doing nothing -- until I had to shout at her to disconnect the cables before something worse happened. After reconnecting the cables properly, she asked me to take the car for a short drive. When I returned, she had left without saying a word. Shortly afterward, I realized that the radio and alarm system were no longer working. I called Progressive again, and the next day a tow truck brought my car to a certified repair shop. The shop confirmed that the battery had been damaged and two fuses had been blown due to the improper jumpstart. I paid nearly $450 out of pocket for the repairs and submitted all documentation to Agero. Agero's response? They denied my claim, using a false version of events provided by the technician -- and worse, they claimed I had told her the battery needed to be replaced, which is an outright lie. I barely spoke to her at all. They completely ignored my report and the mechanic's findings. Yes, losing $450 is frustrating -- but that's not the most important part. What truly matters is how Agero handled the situation: dismissive, careless, and unwilling to take responsibility. Even more concerning is the impression they give -- that they may be contracting low-quality providers to cut costs, regardless of how that affects the customer. That approach is dangerous. Sending out unqualified, distracted technicians to work on vehicles is not just unprofessional -- it's a safety risk. A mistake like this could easily cause an accident or serious damage, putting you and your family at risk. I strongly advise others to be cautious when dealing with Agero or any roadside service contracted through them. I'm extremely disappointed with the way Agero has handled my roadside assistance claim. Over two weeks ago, I contacted my insurance provider, State Farm, for a tow. They arranged the service through Agero, who then dispatched Smith Asset Recovery. After the tow, my dealership informed me that the tow company had caused about $1,000 in damage to my vehicle. Since then, this has been nothing short of a nightmare. Despite submitting multiple quotes from Mercedes-Benz, Agero continues to delay and reject them without valid explanation. I've had to call their office daily, only to be pushed around and given no real answers. It's been over two weeks, and I am still without a vehicle--strictly due to damage caused by a tow provider Agero selected. No one is taking responsibility. Agero has made this process needlessly difficult and stressful, and I've lost time, money, and peace of mind because of their mishandling. At this point, I have contacted my attorney, and I am prepared to pursue legal action if this situation is not resolved immediately. I have Nationwide as my insurance, and when requesting a tow, Agero is the third-party company that deals with that. I needed a tow to take my car for service because a bolt fell off the suspension. Knowing that, the car wasn't safe and shouldn't be driven. The tow came, took the car, and when they arrived at the service center, instead of just leaving the car, the tow driver DROVE my car inside the service area. Now I ask you, what was the point of having a TOW TAKE MY CAR IF THE TOW DRIVER DROVE MY CAR? Well, as a result, everything under the car popped out, and I was left with a $6,000 bill. I filed a damage report as soon as I heard of this, and I have been trying for weeks now to get them to pay. I have videos, photos, and statements, but apparently this is not enough for them. If there were a way to rate no stars I would. We love our insurance company USAA. However, the roadside assistance company they use Agero is the absolute worst company I've dealt with in my adult life. The last three times we've requested roadside assistance has resulted in covered family members waiting so long we had to result to other means to resolve our issues twice, and the third most recent incident resulted in damage to one of our vehicle's rim that Agero refused to pay for. In the third incident we were stuck on the side of a major highway while traveling in a metropolitan city on a Friday evening. We eventually were picked up after hours of waiting by a friend of a family member who took pity on us. It took over nine hours before the vehicle was towed and then as soon as my wife and I saw it, we noticed the damage. When we contacted Agero, they gave us a claim number. The initial claim report was handled electronically, where they (Agero) requested pictures of the damage and an estimate. It took almost a month for us to actually talk to a person about the claim. Once we did they informed us that they had cause to believe their contracted towing company did not cause the damage. We received the email stating their reasons why and none of their reasons made since. We rebutted their claim explained why their reasons actually justified the claim even more so. Then they changed their response to we could not prove that FAFO their contracted company caused the damage. It's terrible that we pay for a service and receive such poor value. For us to never get service in two straight attempts and then have our property damaged the third time is absolutely the worst. We are removing roadside assistance from our USAA insurance policy and getting AAA. read more

I requested service through my ins for a tow and they left me stranded for 6 hours, they assigned to one tow company and then cancelled them because the tow company wanted payment confirmation which I had paid before they selected the tow company. Luckily that company had my number and called me and told me so I called agero back and explained that the tow lady did not cancel their company told the tow company they would go elsewhere to find my tow when all the tow girl asked was for the payment card. After waiting and being told a lie bully agero i called and cancelled and asked for refund and got the tow on my own and they were there in 10 mins I will be telling my ins company to not use u as a vendor no more read more

Horrible customer service.. asked for ID card and they accidentally cancelled the plan.. tried to make me call back to reenroll myself and planned to make me pay again before refund from their error was processed. They also tried to withhold money for one month when service was never used and no ID cards issued. They were patronizing and effectively made sure that I will never contact them again. We waited 7 hours on the side of the road We called every hour only to find the tow truck promised wasn't coming and they would have to start over with details and a new "order." Do not use this company. I finally had to call my own tow truck and pay out of pocket. This guy I called came in less than an hour. read more

They will cause significant damage to your vehicle, unless you have audio and video recording, they will deny all claims. I would never use again and I suggest you do the same. read more

IF I COULD GIVE IT A ZERO I WOULD!!! terrible communication and kept changing/ lying about how far they were. had a flat tire and they had my husband waiting for 4 hours. eventually just had to cancel the tow because the tire shopped closed. would not recommend! read more
