This company is contracted thru USAA for road side assistance. There are no local avenues to make an actual complaint so it's going toward the main office in this review. Additionally, how they talk down to you and threaten to cancel after waiting on the Dallas Fwy in a bad location after two hours tells me talking to them personally would only run me hotter! My son, who has a mental disability, was returning home when his car died in a dangerous area of the downtown Dallas freeway. He almost got hit. He calls USAA for a tow. It was supposed to be 29 minutes out. My son ended up calling the police to send someone to help him get out of traffic. USAA was updated on the location. Yall, NOBODY called this kid or dismissed this tow company after waiting 2 hours! Not only were they RUDE, but threatened to cancel! They never arrived until an ADDITIONAL 2 hours later! Four hours on the side of the road waiting for a tow then get nasty after a reasonable amount of time WAITING and nobody shows up is UNACCEPTABLE! PERIOD! And then I go look you up and the reviews are off the charts! My Acura is 2021 with 18,000 miles. Well within warranty time for free roadside assistance. Waited 3 hours for a tow truck! Spent 5 days and many phone calls to 1-800 numbers and no one could find record of incident etc...... finally filed a claim for reimbursement on honda.roadside assistance.com. Highly doubt I will ever get restitution. This is a scam third party vendor for Honda/Acura. This was the worst experience I ever had with a service. This was the first time I used this road side assistance through USAA and I wish I never had. I waited over 7 hours for a tow. I was given wrong information multiple times I had the service ticket cancelled 4 times One of the tow companies went to my house instead of the place they were supposed to pick me up (according to them) I called over 15 times in this 7 hours period I waited alone in a dark street until almost 11pm for a tow At the end I had to find a tow myself because they could not provide one after having 4 different companies canceling on me I had multiple people tell me they would call me back and they never did This is unbelievable, unacceptable and I'm considering very seriously to cancel our family car USAA insurance. read more

Agero has people somewhere in East Asia answering the phones and attempting to get you to agree to pay hundreds of dollars for a tow they were supposed to provide as part of your auto insurance. Pure and utter TRASH. I actually PAY monthly on my car insurance premium to USAA for Roadside Assistance. USAA subcontracts out to Agero. I've needed a tow twice in the past month. Agero is completely unable to provide the service I HAVE ALREADY PAID FOR. It is currently 8:08pm. I am TWO DAYS into attempting to get Assistance from Agero. 3x they have told me they "exhausted" their "in network " providers. But don't worry! They found someone to tow me for which I can pay HUNDREDS of dollars out of pocket. Completely incapable and unable to provide the service they claim to specialize in. Complete waste of time and energy. Also their phone people are clearly located in East Asia. I kid you not, person #2 who I spoke to today (over 4 hrs ago...) had an actual ROOSTER crowing, incessantly, in the direct background. Person #3 HUNG UP ON ME. Just a miserable experience. USAA customer trying to get car towed 6 miles, in town, during business hours of a Thursday. They show a tow truck as dispatched after 90 minutes, but it never shows up. After another hour I call the tow company and they never left because they never got paid. 7 hours in they still can't get a tow truck out to my house. I had to have one of my cars towed 21 miles back on 5/24. Through my insurance with State Farm, Agero coordinated my tow, and the overage for the additional 11 miles was quoted at $62, but I was charged $67.50. This isn't my complaint, though. I had to have a 2nd car towed yesterday 26 miles, and the overage I was quoted this time was $299.63 for the additional 16 miles - which is 4.5 times more than was I was quoted 2 weeks before, and almost twice the price it would have cost me to just book the tow directly without my insurance company involved! When I asked the guy why such a huge discrepancy, he told me I needed to take that up with State Farm, so I canceled and did just that. The State Farm representative said there was ZERO reason for such an outrageous amount, and he called Agero directly to coordinate the tow for me and - surprise - the overage this time was only $105 (still a little high but more palatable). I never received a call or text from Agero, so I had to call them 30 minutes later to spur the tow along since I know that the tow company won't come out until the overage is paid, and was told by THAT Agero agent that it was a computer-generated quote and she had no idea why it was so high. I had to call back an hour later because I still hadn't heard anything from anyone and was told that they'd be there in around 45 minutes - I got a call from the tow guy 15 minutes later. It wasn't until this morning that I received the computer-generated texts regarding my tow truck's ETA, and the follow up texts for a tow that had been completed a full 17 hours earlier. Agero is NOT a company that we choose to work with, but we're stuck working with them because they're a clearinghouse for most of the insurance companies' roadside assistance needs; otherwise, they'd probably be out of business by now. read more

Agero contracted a tow for me and instead of delivering it to the address, sent it to a storage yard and did not tell me. This cost me $600 in storage fees and $200 to tow it out of storage. Agero has taken THREE months to get back to me and refuses to put me in contact with a supervisor. I have asked 5 times for one. They refunded the $200 in towing fees to get it out of storage but refuse to pay the storage. After reporting to the BBB, Agero is now saying it is my fault because I changed the address "too late." I called 10 min after my car was picked up and their customer service dept told me the address was updated and the vehicle would go to the new location. Not ONCE did they mention it going to storage or there being an issue. I also texted their driver, asking to let me know if there were any issues. He never replied. Agero has admitted fault by refunding the towing fees. Yesterday they did have a CS rep call me to tell me this was my fault and they would not pay. She didnt ask ONE question about what happened, just said my fault and they arent paying. Now why are they paying the tow fee but not the storage? Because they dont want to and have horrible customer service. I have reported this with BBB and Michael Finney, Channel 7. This week I will be filing a case with small claims in San Mateo county. They can stop all of this by reimbursing me the storage fees. By the way, it has been THREE months since I filed my claim with them and their case manager did not call me more than two times and I had to demand she call me. Do not use them. read more

My car stalled on the PA Turnpike yesterday afternoon 7/5/25. After being towed off the highway by another company, I requested to be towed home (66 miles) through my roadside assistance from USAA around 5:40PM. I paid an extra $120 because the distance is further than 50 miles. After waiting for another 2 hours a representative called to tell me that no drivers in the area wanted to make the drive and that they would reschedule the request for today 7/6/25 at 8am. She said to please call back at that time to expedite the process and I checked into a hotel. Called this morning at 8am as instructed and was assured someone would accept the call in 20 minutes. By 11AM I had made several calls and talked to several virtual agents who all assured me they were making calls, to please be patient, and to wait another 20 minutes. The last virtual rep I spoke claimed no knowledge of my request and said the request was for Monday morning at 8am not today. I called to speak with a live person about this and they said no one was available to complete the tow and that I am now scheduled for Monday morning at 8am. 3 other agents then called with the exact same information. I have paid extra money for the service to be towed home yesterday evening and have now paid for two nights of hotels and am still waiting to get towed home! I will also now miss work tomorrow as well. There have been no mechanics open and/or available to service my car. I've been stranded by this company! They arrange very quickly for your problem but an hour or two later call to say they haven't been able to find a "in network " provider to help you. They just called, 5 hours later asking if I was in a safe location. After my first experience with Agero I knew better to call a tow company directly. This company is awful. I've had to make 2 roadside assistance requests through my insurance in the past week, and unfortunately Agero dealt with both. The staff is totally incompetent and their "system" for assigning jobs is ridiculous. I had to wait 3+ hours for a jump. Despite making an appointment for a tow 2 days in advance, I was assigned a company whose ETA was a full 2 hours past the close of my scheduled window. When I spoke to a manager at the towing company itself, he was incredibly rude- reviews on that company show they are almost always late and rude. It took over 12 hours to tow my disabled travel trailer using Agero. Their customer service reps had me on hold at times more than 15 minutes. I paid for roadside plus with a well known name brand insurance carrier. Agero is a call center that contacts tow companies in the area that you need the tow. They consistently provide horrible service. Don't use them even if your insurance company recommends them. Call the local tow company yourself. You will get faster, reliable service and you won't be waiting more than 12 hours to receive service and you insurance company WILL reimburse you. If policy holders start arranging tows themselves and this company loses the money they would have been paid (which is more than you pay yourself), insurance companies will wake up and drop this contract company. You will be safer, your vehicle will be safer and towed sooner and you will have piece of mind. You are paying the premiums, the insurance company works for you. A nightmare experience, my insurance company State Farm send Agero to tow my truck to the shop. The operator jumpstarted my battery backwards resulting in multiple electrical damages and even after providing Agero with detailed proof of damage from the dealership diagnostics they imply that I am lying and denied to follow through with the claim. I placed a request for service at 2:30 PM June 17, 2021using the State Farm app for lock out service in a south suburb of Minneapolis. I waited for an initial response for an ETA for about 30 minutes.  I had to call twice to discover no one had even started seeking a service provider.  Maybe 15 minutes later I was told someone was "attempting" to locate a provider.  Eventually I was told a provider was located after "several had turned down the request."  The provider who accepted was coming from the other side of the metro (Woodbury) in rush hour and said he was in heavy traffic.  He didn't show up so I called him again.  He said he'd be there in a "few" minutes. The background noise sounded like a bar.  I could barely hear him At that point my phone battery died and I had no way to follow up or reach anyone.  After another 30-40 minutes I walked to Walgreens and purchased a battery pack.  It was after 5:00 PM at that point.  When my phone was back on I discovered the State Farm app said service was "completed."  Not true. He never showed and would not answer my calls or calls from the Roadside Assistance office who tried him repeatedly.  Another call from me to dispatch resulted in their contacting a different provider who was prompt (30 minutes) and courteous.  This provider said this was his territory and he should have been called initially but was not.  So by 7:00 PM I was back in my vehicle. Overall from the initial call for assistance to the successful result was 4 and a half hours!!!!!  Totally unacceptable!!!!  If this had been my wife with mobility limitations and chronic pain from arthritis or either of us in severe weather it would have been tragic. I am not usually one who complains and expects compensation but this experience was so frustrating and egregious that I am expecting some effort from State Farm to compensate for their failure.  If not for a 50 year relationship with State Farm I would be gone today. read more

Waited 1 more hour on hold waiting while I called a tow company on my own and they showed up on point. If your car insurance uses Agero I highly recommend to change your car insurance company. Agero provides the worst roadside assistance I have ever experienced in my life. I am with State Farm and they use Agero. My first time needing help not only was the person arriving completely oblivious to the instructions of getting to me (Agero has you fill out instructions that they might need to know) but he was very rude and tried to rip me off! First refusing to jump my car since he was claiming my battery was dead and it wouldn't work. Fortunately I am familiar with electrochemistry and knew the battery was just fine. I kept insisting and he eventually jumped it. Started up just fine and still running fine to this day. Dirty business practice. That's just the small reason on why Agero is bad, it gets even worse. I figured it was a one off event just unlucky and I'd give State Farm/Agero another chance before switching companies. BIG MISTAKE. Today I got stuck in the middle of the desert, I called roadside assistance and had an order put in. (I went through the app because they will literally have you on hold for 20+ minutes regardless of time of day) I got a towing company assigned to get me unstuck. 20 minutes after expected arrival time which was 2 hours later I figured I'd give them a call to see what the hold up was. The towing company assigned was from San Francisco while I'm in Anza Borrego desert in San Diego county. Best part is they just said they weren't doing the job and never had any intention to let me know this or Agero. Great!!!! I called Agero once more and after waiting on hold 30 minutes I got through and spoke to someone. They assured me a new company would be assigned and they would text me with the new assignment within 10 minutes and I'd be fine. Well it's been 30 minutes, not a text or anything. I'm on hold with them now for 20 more minutes, fortunately I have enough water to survive ! Great job Agero!! The icing on the cake is the number of times the customer service reps gave me wrong information and lied to my face. Incredible. Lied to my face! Do yourself a favor and avoid this terrible company.
