I can only speak for the karaoke room. Rest room with extensive song selection. The ambiance is okay. The room itself is plain but if you're there to sing music, it hits all the right notes. You can also connect to YouTube and play karaoke with lyrics to sing along to if you're unable to find the song you want to sing in their song menu. Not sure how the food is but prices are steep. Actual karaoke room is not bad in pricing. I can't speak about service either. read more

My friends and I had a good time but overall they scammed us. We TOLD THEM that we wanted to stay for an hour. Not once did they check up on us, gave us a heads up that our time was almost done, or told us that our hour was up. We confronted the worker about it and gave us an attitude and said, "you didn't even tell me." (We did before we started) They charged an 18% service fee???? But they didn't even bother to check up on us or tell us about the hour (OR even served us). The most they did for us was set up the TV. Funny encounter my friends and I had here recently. As we were leaving, a random girl bumped into one of my friends, and did not apologize when she was called out. Instead, her group started verbally harassing us, and the ladies in our group couldn't help but to return fire. Note that the other group consist of 2 Caucasian males, 3 middle eastern chicks, and 1 Asian chick, while our group was a good 8 guys strong (all Asians). Throwing aside the fact that they were outnumbered, I was baffled that the ladies didn't give a F they were in CHINAtown while hurling racist insults at us lol. Agogo is much cleaner than Friend's or Yes KTV, with much better equipment. Benefit of it being a brand new establishment, and I hope they keep up the cleanliness. Rooms are spacious and the system is easy to use. Song selection is relatively up to date. Prices are pretty reasonable when you go with a large group and split the costs. If you purchase enough food and drinks, then it will pay for the room (I wouldn't really consider going to a place that doesn't have this option). Bottles are around $100, and if you can't finish them all, they are nice enough to hold it for you until the next time you come by. Downside is that they charge you $19 per person to sit in the general public area, even if you buy drinks and food. And they charge you for bringing boba in, even though we would purchase 3 bottles + food every time... Can't you just let us sing and enjoy boba at the same time?? #215 read more

Wow I'm gonna be honest, I've been to AGOGO a few times, and the other times were fine! But this time I went with my sister and cousins for my birthday and it was definitely a mess. For one, they never check on you. You have to press the button for them to even come to the room. They never tell you how long you're in the room for (we told them we only wanted the room for an hour, so you'd think they would come check on us when the hour ran out) or ask you if you need anything at all. Then when you got to pay, they charge a 18% service charge? We didn't get any service, we basically serviced ourselves. The only thing they did for us was give us the room and mics. Update: I've decided to change my review from 4 stars to 3 stars after seeing how others were treated similar to my party. I didn't want to think badly of this business, but I always felt they tried scamming us by overcharging and not showing an itemized receipt. I removed my last sentence to say I won't ever visit this place again. I've never been to a KTV lounge before this, so I didn't know what to expect. I had booked the small room in advance, but when we arrived it was occupied, and instead we were given the medium sized room. I was surprised at how spacious the room was, and it had a nice set up. There were plenty of fun songs to choose from, and it was easy enough to search for what we wanted. We weren't able to try their various drinks as there was an issue with the bartender, so that was a bit of a let down. Also towards the end of our session, there was a problem with splitting the bill between those who ordered drinks and properly applying the deposit I initially paid, even though we were told we could pay separately. read more

This experience was so terrible, I will never set foot in here again. I booked this room a month ago for a party I was having with a friend. $50 deposit, no biggie. We arrive and we asked if we could set up early and they said yes. We set up and the AC was not on. I was wearing a nice button down and sweated all over it because it was so hot in there. We had to ask them to turn it up 6 times and even my guests were noticing and complaining. We were told that the minimum to get the room for free for 4 hours was around $450. Sounded fine to us because we had a total of 17 people there. We could easily hit that. Well, when we were hitting the service button, no one was coming to our room for a long time and our party was getting frustrated and went to the bar to bring it back to the room. Apparently, this did not count towards our minimum since they had to go outside of the room to get service. The waitress was yelling and screaming at my guests and made everyone very uncomfortable to the fact I had to write this review to warn others. This place does not work with you and scams you! She wouldn't even show us all the charges she was charging and telling someone that they need to give her a card right now. Not only was it a very expensive experience because they cheated us out on the rules but it was also very uncomfortable because they were screaming and yelling at us. They were busy tending to other guests and there was only one other party there. They treated my party with complete disrespect and that is no way to run a business. The waitress even slammed the pen down for me to sign where I had to tell her she cannot disrespect me like that. This place is dishonest & does not conduct business fairly. Do not rent a room here for any reason! They will make excuses & make up new rules in order to get more money out of what you had previously booked & planned with them ahead of time. It has honestly been a hassle of a nightmare to deal with the disrespectful employees & unprofessional behavior showcased at this establishment. Not only is their rudeness reason enough not to visit this but here are a few more: -food selection is scarce & mediocre, it lacks seasoning & food comes out cold. -the AC is not always turned on. When you ask for the AC to accommodate 20+ guests they get upset & yell at your guests that they already turned it on. (We were aware of when it was actually turned on because we heard the loud AC system kick in, there's no reason to lie about that just say you're going to do it & that would've been fine.) -the drinks were weak & literally watered down. Some guests ordered shots & could tell it was diluted. (This should have been another red flag to the establishments dishonesty.) The rooms were clean, the technology was up to date, songs were really updated to include newly released songs, and the music videos and lyrics are all original. Karaoke system was new with large list of songs. Service was good. Drinks were cheap and liquor bottles prices were low. Food was ok - regular options you can see in Chinese restaurants. This place is interesting. It has a decent selection of music. This is best with about 4 people for 4 hours to split about 300 bucks. My husband and I went for 3 hours and after tax and mandatory tip it came out to 264. I believe for 268 or 286 of food/drink it's free for 4 hours. The staff was attentive, not sure how others experience such bad service. There was hardly anyone in there so we felt well taken care of. Really great room and amazing song selection!! Kind of expensive for 6 people to be honest. It has a base rate of 38 per hour for the small room, or 268 for comped prices, but still ambiance is great. The thing that got me was the service. Our server was slightly judgmental throughout our stay, one of us ordered a margarita which was clearly watered down (3 of us tried it) and instead of making a new one they threw salt in it and thought we were gonna be satisfied. I went this past weekend with a group it was a lot of fun. Their karaoke selection was a little lacking in the English songs, but we found most songs we were looking for. The service was prompt, and very nice. But they said the bartender was new and couldn't make anything other than what was on the drink menu. And even those weren't that good. New karaoke joint in town! My friends and I love hitting up this place whenever we're in Chinatown. Prices for the rooms are about the same as other karaoke places in the plaza. I believe if you hit the minimum $$$$ requirement in food/drinks, the room is usually comp. They have a wide range of music selection, way better than the downstairs karaoke place. You will have to wait and download songs that has not been played before, but this wasn't a problem for my group. The rooms are spacious and clean (esp. the large room, they offer four mics!). Medium (3 mics) & small rooms are roomy as well. They have an open area in the front if you're not interested in getting a room. The people running the place is extremelyyy nice and accommodating! Karen is an amazing host each time we stop by. If you and/or your friends are ever in the area and is in need of something to do, swing by! You won't regret it! I loved it, it was a lot of fun and they had a good selection of new american songs, I wish they had more oldies but I had a lot of fun regardless! When my friends and I first came in the lady working was very nice and even joked around with us. My friend asked specifically how much it would a group of 5 per hour. She told us 38. We had a great time singing -- they had a good song selection and the room created a nice, private atmosphere (though it did smell like cigarettes although they had a no smoking sign), hence the one star. After an hour we realized that we were probably going over time, but had not paid attention because most of the time someone would come to warn us about a song before that our hour was up. One of my friends and I came out and asked the lady when our hour was up and she said it was at 9:35 PM, we asked her at 9:38 PM. We told her we were done then and she asked us, "how about another hour?". My friend and I went inside and told all my friends to clean up and leave. We got outside within a couple minutes. The first problem was that the lady was very rude to us after we had left the room, in contrast to how nice she was when we first walked in. The second issue was that we were charged a base price of $50. They then charged us an extra quarter of an hour for running over by 3 mins (when they did not warn us). We were slightly irked but nonetheless we did go partially overtime (and maybe they have to charge hours in increments?). My friend then asked the man who handed us the bill if we had to pay in cash or could split the check by card. He said yes we can pay by card and so all five of us put our card in. No one bothered to take our bill so I walked over and handed the lady our check. I go back and am talking with my friends when the lady comes over to tell us that they only split checks to two cards on bills exceeding $100 and that we would have to pay extra charges because we paid on card. We told her to not go through with the transaction, but she said that they were already charging us. My friends and I became upset because the man had told us after we asked that we could split the check and did not mention anything about extra charges. The lady said that he was new (she did not apologize) and we told her that it is not our fault the employee did not tell us. She brushed us off and spoke to all of us in a rude manner including sarcasm saying, "You know each credit company charges for using card right?". We ended up giving no tip due to her rude behavior towards customers. I have been here before and did not have the best experience but it wasn't nearly as bad as this time. I am disgusted with how she tried to scam my group of friends and I and she did not try to work out any issues. I have never written a review before (good or bad), but the service here was extremely poor to the point where I felt the need to write a review.
