Michael, the owner, greeted us and took care of us! We started with the Jumbo Crab Fingers which were really good - I'm honestly not huge on seafood, so I enjoyed these a lot more than I thought I would. Ironically, I'm not big on oysters either, so I ordered the Jumbo Golden Fried Shrimp which hit the spot real good. Large shrimp, well fried, flavored, and the tartar sauce was addicting. The fries that came with it were perfectly seasoned, carrying a bit more of a cajun flavor rather than just regularly salted. My parents definitely enjoy oysters, so they ordered the Charbroiled Oysters and really enjoyed it, as well as the Uni Oyster with Quail Egg. They also got the Cowboy Lobster Shrimp Roll that was gone before I even took a second look their way. We finished the meal with a yummy, dense basque cheesecake! Every customer that came in during our time there was personally greeted by Michael, and it seemed like they were all repeat customers. It was really cool to see that kind of connection, and it really showed how much Michael cares about his customers, and how much we like his food! Indoor seating is a bit limited - all bar stool seating. I rarely comment on the music that a restaurant plays, but I quite liked it! Made me feel like I was on the bay enjoying some fresh seafood at sunset. Heard they'll be opening up their newest location at POST soon!

We ordered: Jumbo crab fingers: huge and good Truffle Parmesan fries: didn't taste any truffle Lobster bisque: good but needed more umami PEI oysters: my favorite oysters, shocked they had them Charbroiled oysters (all three flavors): least liked flavor was the Woodford Chipotle butter Santa Barbara Uni pasta: THICCCC pieces of Uni, pasta had good flavor but it was a tad clumpy

Located in the Sterling Plaza center on side strip mall next to H-Mart is China Place, one of the…read morefew specialty liquor stores that focus on Asian spirits. It's a lot more spacious than it looks and ripe with inventory that include everything from Chinese baiju to Japanese + Taiwanese whiskey (#1) to Asian based wines that are harder to find in the US. This is the good part. The not-so-great part is the fact their customer service is borderline atrocious. Phone manners are non-existent and help within the store has always been a challenge. Speaking English and Chinese has gotten me the same exact result, so it's always good to have a game plan before perusing. The other not-so-fun part is the sticker shock. Some of the items here are pretty expensive. To make matters worse, the price is not evident on every bottle or every shelf. One instance where I attempted to pay with credit card, I was asked if I could pay in cash instead. Thankfully, I had enough but somehow I still felt rushed out. But in the end, instead of feeling slighted by my experience, I am still thankful this is an option in the neighborhood. I don't know about their selection versus other similar stores, but with the size and everything, I would have to assume China Place is still one of the better options in town despite some service snafus. If in a pinch and looking to gift a bottle to someone in the neighborhood, I'll certainly be stopping by again. ___________ (#1) This is some of the best whiskey in the world. Trust me.

It's the typical liquor store located right in the heart of Chinatown, which offers several different types of liquor, including a lot of imports, which is super fun. I love using local stores instead of the usual corporate crap, and this is a great example of a good one, which also sells some Asian Goods which are excellent.
