This place is FREAKING OUTSTANDING. The awesomeness includes:…read more 1. Dave, who is amazingly welcoming, gracious and just plain fun to talk to. Everyone I encountered - from those pouring the beers to those drinking them, were friendly. The vibe is totally positive. 2. The place - we brought a grill, a picnic, launched rockets, wandered the fields, picked pumpkins...it was so great. 3. Kids have fun too. They are welcome, and there is plenty of space to run around, toss a football, launch rockets, explore, catch crickets... 4. The beer. I am not a huge fan of Belgian or farmhouse style beers, which were the selection when we visited, but I know the selection changes frequently, and for not being a fan of these styles typically, I drank the entirety of each of my samples, and it was fun to explore a style that I would not have otherwise done. 5. The prices - totally reasonable. I would go here again in a heartbeat, and totally will.

Yelp only shows that it's open for dinner, but that is not the case. For lunch I had the pulled chicken sandwich with macaroni and cheese and grilled vegetables. The sandwich was delightful. The bread was excellent though I only ate half to cut down on carbs. The chicken was good, just be aware if you're super picky it is a mix of light and dark meat, but the accompanying barbecue sauces, regular, sweet, and spicy, are all really good. I had a hard time deciding which one to use so I just made a few different pools and alternated my dipping. The grilled vegetables were fine, but I thought the macaroni and cheese was really good. It was not gooey or super creamy. it was just macaroni with cheese. I don't know if that makes sense or does it justice because it was delicious, but it wasn't super heavy, thick, or greasy. I really liked it a lot. Now it appears the place is more famous for being a brewpub and I did not sample anything so I can't speak to that. However, the bar area was nice and the dining area was very clean. I did speak to the owner a little bit before I left and he was a really nice guy. I observed the way he interacted with other customers that were there and he was super nice to everybody. The ambience is casual but nice and clean and the service was friendly and professional. I travel almost every week for work and keep a list of places that I enjoy eating at and Moonridge went on the list today. I can't wait to try something else there.

Brussel sprouts were the best thing I ate, they have hot honey and I'm a sucker for hot honey. The drink I had was a chocolate porter from Round Man brewery, it didn't have much flavor, I've had better.

The location is convenient, directly off of the freeway in rural Northern Wisconsin. The menu offers sandwiches, a salad, and platters that don't disclose just how little meat is included (assuming they were 1/4lb servings). I opted for the pulled pork, which unfortunately lacked any flavor besides apple cider vinegar. I had to not only drench it in BBQ, but for the first time ever I had to salt the meat. My coworkers left hungry when their platters included only 2 slices of brisket. Points for creativity on their sides. I love the variety of options, but none met my expectations in the slightest. Overall, the whole meal lacked flavor, seasoning, and they should work on their portions/prices. Spending over $20 on a platter here is a waste.

Being an avid reader, I know never to judge a book by its cover, but the artwork on the can is honestly what got me to check out Honees Honees. It's dubbed a peanut butter & honey golden ale, which is an ale brewed with honey and lactose, with peanut butter flavor and caramel color. The artwork that so powerfully snatched my attention sort of conveys that in its own unique and trippy way. Pouring the ale reveals a clear dark gold/amber color. I found the peanut butter to be stronger on the nose than the palate. Taste favored honey, with hints of peanuts, caramel malts, and a sweet (for a beer) finish. It weighs in at 5.6% ABV.
