Always friendly. Always delicious. Born and raised in NYC, I am now a resident of Florida. I visit NY once or twice a year. Each time I save my 2 large carryon bags to fill up with treats from Agrigento Bakery. I drove one hour each way on the day of my departure flight to get some fresh goodness, the likes of which cannot be found anywhere near where I live. I bought meat bread, rolls, a semolina loaf, Italian cheesecake, several different items with cannoli cream, napoleons, and an array of various cookies including elephant ears. When I got back to Florida, I felt like I brought my heritage back home. I froze a few items and am slowly nursing the rest but not doing such a great job. Somehow, quite a bit has already disappeared! I put this bakery stop on my "must do" list whenever I go back to NY. Once you try them, you'll put them on your list too. read more

There was just one bread left when I got there on Friday after work, so obviously people love the breads here, and as I found out for good reason-the Bread here WAS very good and fresh! the lobster tail filled with light cream WAS great. But the cookies are just not up to par at all, and Black and white cookies particularly disappointing and linzer tart also possibly stale. Since I'm more prone to grabbing cookies than anything else at bakeries i will probably only come back here when I want a great bread. read more

Unfortunately my dessert experience on Father's Day was a disappointment. While I ordered near $100 in assorted cookies, cannolis, cheesecake and biscotti...each item I along with my guests tasted was stale and dry . It was an embarrassment to bring these items to my family's home...I was better off buying desserts from Costco. This was not my first rodeo with this bakery...I was disappointed before but and more so yesterday...every establishment deserves another try. Their sfogliatelle is the star of the show. And if you get them warm, that's a huge bonus. That's why I'll be standing in a long line tomorrow morning at 8 in frigid weather to get these to bring to Christmas Eve dinner. It is wonderful having a local bakery must like those of my childhood visiting family in Brooklyn and Queens. A true Italian bakery in our corner of the world. One of very few bakeries that carry Catorce( a cannoli cream filled doughnut rolled in sugar). Like a soft taco vs a crunchy, this a "soft cannoli Freaking delicious.
