Authetic korean restaurant serving some good Tang Soo Yook! Very nicely fried and portion is generous! we also tried their seafood jjampong and it was good. I bet the heat is even perfect during colder weathers! I would love to come back and try their jajang. so hopefully soon. Inside was clean and spacious and service was very good. We were asked if we wanted tea or water which I appreciated. we also had some fried pork left which we got to go and the staff gave us extra sauce! we felt so welcomed.

Khan poong chicken. Excellent - crispy and not oversauced

Best jjajang spot in Bergen county. The seafood and meat dishes are elite. Their kkanpoongi might be the best I've had - super crispy and not overly sauced. Haters like Chen C. just looooove playing the victim card. What a dweeb! Long live Ah Suh Won!!

What a great spot for jjajangmyun! While I've been in the area a long time, this was my first time coming to Ah Suh Won and I was not disappointed. Great food, affordable prices, and friendly service. The restaurant is on the smaller side for sure but it's the perfect place for a quick meal for lunch or dinner. The cafe next door is excellent for post-meal drinks!

While there's a ton of Korean-Chinese restaurants in Bergen County, it's hard to find a good spot. I find that some restaurants' noodles are too sweet for me or just not right. I shared the fried dumplings (군만두 - 8 pieces) and 쟁반 짜장면 (aka a shareable portion of 짜장면, black bean sauce noodles) with two others and we were genuinely blown away by how perfectly crisp yet succulent the dumplings were, and the taste of the noodles - they were rich in flavor but there was slight smoky (in Korean, 불맛)/spicy kick, and not to mention the deliciously scored squid pieces. It seems like the fried dishes are well done so I'd like to go again and try their 탕수육 (fried pork with sweet sauce) and 깡풍 새우 (fried shrimp with spicy chili sauce).

Solid jjajangmyeon in Tenafly! We stopped by on an early Saturday evening, and were quickly seated. We ordered jjajangmyeon and tangsooyuk, both arrived in generous portions and tasted good. Slightly pricier than some other Korean-Chinese restaurants in Bergen. And I do wish they had half jjajangmyeon and tangsooyuk option.

The best tangsooyuk and jjajangmyun I've ever had. Growing up and currently living in NYC, the only places I could go to for these comfort foods were Hyo Dong Gak, Dong Chun Hong, and Shanghai Mong, but Ah Suh Won is 100x better than all 3. I even went to Seoul this past summer for 3 weeks and was really craving tangsooyuk and jjajangmyun, but the places I went to did not meet my expectations. Ah Suh Won surprisingly did! The tangsooyuk is so crispy and the pork is juicy and tender. The staff was so kind and friendly, and even recommended tangsooyuk over the beef tangsooyuk when we tried to order the beef one even though the tangsooyuk is the cheaper option. The jjajangmyun is very clean and you don't feel like the oil and grease as you would at other places. I usually feel kind of disgusted after eating tangsooyuk and jjajangmyun since they're both not unhealthy, but I felt okay after eating at Ah Suh Won. Highly recommend if you're in the area--definitely worth the trip!

A very beautiful restaurant with unique Korean dishes. They serve wide range of items, from noodles, to poultry and seafood items. We came to Ah Suh Won for Monday dinner. We were the only people dining in person. But the restaurant was getting a lot of take our orders while we were there. We tried several of their items, that includes vegetable dumplings, fried chicken with garlic sauce, jumbo shrimp with garlic sauce, and beef glass noodles. We throughly enjoyed all of the items. Our orders were prepared and served within a very decent time. The service was great and staff member were friendly+helpful. TL;DR Food taste - 5/5 Food prep time - 5/5 Service - 5/5 Price - $$$ Items tried: Vegetable dumplings - 4/5 Fried chicken with garlic sauce - 5/5 Jumbo shrimp with garlic sauce- 5/5 Beef glass noodles - 4/5

Jjambbong has a clean spicy taste. I think they used vegetable broth. There isn't much seafood, but the price is reasonable. Jjajangmyeon is delicious like soy sauce. The location is a bit disappointing. It's a little far from Koreatown.

Waited 1 hour for my food. In a party of 6, I watched the rest of my group eat for thirty minutes while I waited. My dish was just rice and should have taken no time at all. Very disappointed by service and angry at how terrible my experience today was. Update: food finally came. There was 1 sliver of meat the size of my pinky. Will not be coming back personally although the rest of my group enjoyed their food at an acceptable level.

Great food selection. Very flavorful. Soup is way to spicy for me but personally don't like spicy food. Beef glass noodle w rice is good. Veggie dumpling is a big portion for appetizer. Indoor dining available.

Disappointing. Tenafly is a tough neighborhood because of low traffic ... many restaurants went by this location before because they were all subpar... and on my first (and likely last visit), Ah Suh Won unfortunately followed suit in the same mediocrity of its predecessors. Fried dumpling was the only decent food we ordered one Sunday afternoon. Jjamppong was seriously disappointing... came in a huge wide-mouthed bowl (jjambbong usually comes in large bowl yes, but what's with the wide mouth when your table is already tiny?) and it totally lacked that med-layer flavor that ties in the high spicy note to the ingredients. The result was just tasteless watery broth that was under seasoned with just chili oil taste in the high flavor spectrum. In short, flavors just floated around without being unified in that classic jjambbong substance & heat kick that diners usually expect. Now my japtangbap (mixed seafood rice)- had better hopes but again, that mid layer taste that binds flavors together was absent, resulting in under seasoned medley of seafoods, most of it frozen seafood (to be expected), and curiously small portion of white rice. Disappointing- and I've never really been disappointed by a japtangbap cuz it's ... hard to get that wrong. My bro had taken out a la carte dishes from here before (to feed workers on a moving day) and they tasted alright so I was rather surprised at how bad this place was. I feel sorry for writing a negative review, but in my objectivity I can't recommend this place. There are MUCH better options 10-15 min away in pal park and fort lee.

Got takeout from here and was impressed with the food. I got a fried dumplings, sweet & sour pork, and king prawns in chili sauce. They were all very tasty. I appreciate that for the sweet & sour pork they packed the meat and sauce separately so that the crispy fried pork didn't get soggy. My only complaint is that for the dumplings they gave me the smallest amount of sauce possible. I used up all the sauce after two dumplings.

PROS: The food tasted good and came out in a timely matter. The menu had a good variety on it and the atmosphere was very elegant. CONS: The prices are high for the entrees and there's hardly anywhere to park. The one older lady was also a bit snippy towards us and that was not pleasant OVERALL: If you are in need of food and this place is open then go for it, but I have other options to go to on the street

It is similar to Sichuan/Szechuan cuisine in ways, in that there is an emphasis on spicy foods, although the spice profiles differ. It is in the space formerly occupied by a different Chinese restaurant called Joyce (RIP - I loved and miss their short-lived foray into seafood boils). Although there are many great authentic (meaning regionally specialized) Chinese restaurants in Bergen County and northern NJ, including several Sichuan places, this is the only Hunan one I'm aware of (without venturing further south into NJ), and is certainly one of the nicest Chinese restaurants atmosphere-wise, with an elegant dining room. If you want to try the interesting and authentic dishes, of which there are plenty, order from the sections of the menu labeled with "Hunan" or "Home Style." The soups and cold appetizers are very traditional too. The house speciality is the Hunan steamed fish head with pickled chili - the platter is quite impressive and takes 20-30 min to prepare. You can add tofu (recommended) or noodles for an additional $5. We ordered this but since I'm not a fish head fan (and like my fish very simply dressed) - I think it was a type of carp - the appreciation for it was lost on me. It's topped with a heap of red chilis but is actually not as spicy as it looks. Personally I prefer the fish fillet dishes such as the fish with ginger, which has very tender filet slices. I loved the soup dumplings (large and soupy), shrimp with salted egg yolk (or any salted egg yolk dishes, which aren't easy to find), and enjoyed the tender sautéed beef dishes like beef with spring onion or the spicy green pepper with steak, with crunchy peppers that give a piquant refreshing kick. They have whole Peking duck (Beijing roast duck)! The menu only shows pricing for the whole duck but we asked for half and they obliged. To be honest it's not the best Peking duck I've had but the balance of crispy skin (that's yet not too fatty) to generously shaved lean duck meat was unimpeachable. And they use high-quality crepes that are superbly thin but do not tear. The lo mein is also pretty good - it's slightly smoky and is better than common. Parking tip: there are only a few spots in front but there is a parking lot in the back of the building with plenty of spaces. There are lots of exciting and exotic menu offerings and still many we'd like to try, so we'll be back repeatedly.

They taste identical to what you'd get served at a pub. The cheeseburger was a juicy, giant patty served on a brioche bun. The burger exceeds a Quarter Pounder in terms of taste and size! The steak was also decent, but make sure you have your favorite bottle of steak sauce handy! It's not Longhorn quality, but you'll still get your money's worth and will be satisfied. The calamari was more chewy than crispy, but it wasn't the worst I've had. In fact, it tastes better when I re-heated it in the oven for my preferred level of crispiness. Looking at the menu, I saw that they also offered a full Japanese selection with loads of sushi options. Everything sounded great, and I got excited for our meal. When we arrived, I was very impressed by the atmosphere, which was stylish, modern, and spacious. Our waitress was fine, but seemed to have a bit of a chip on her shoulder. Regardless, the food was excellent! The place was BYOB, but did have a Shirley Temple on the beverage section of the menu, which I thought was a cute alternative. As I mentioned, the food options were vast, which made it tough to decide how to proceed. In the end, I decided to get a single piece of sushi and a full Chinese entree. The piece of Eel Sushi I ordered was delivered as sashimi. When I noted the difference to the server, she looked at me like I was nuts, but asked if I wanted a bed of rice to put the fish on...I just said to forget it, since I already had a side of rice with my entree. It was just a weird exchange, but the eel was fresh and delicious. For my main course, I went with the Chicken and Eggplant with Spicy Garlic Basil Sauce and a side of brown rice. The meat was tender, the sauce had just the right amount of heat, and it was all just so flavorful! Plus, the portion was very generous. I tried a bite of the Spicy Asian Flower Herbs Chicken, which was noted as being "wok-sauteed in high flame for extreme spice". The diced chicken with red peppers and snap peas had been cooked with Szechuan peppercorns, but, thankfully, none of actual peppercorns were in the dish. So, there was certainly a level of spice, but actually not a ton of heat. It was really tasty, though! The rest of our party also enjoyed their meals, whether they were from Japanese or Chinese cuisine. I would definitely go back to Hanami, and it was great to find a delicious Asian restaurant in that area.
