A great new addition to Laguna Beach! Especially because I feel like there are few establishments I look to in the area. I absolutely LOVED the burger -- I can confidently say it was one of the best smash burgers I have ever had, especially as the chilis were such a nice touch. We also got the mac and cheese which was comforting. The weakest dish of the night was the salmon... the fish was cooked very well and the sauce alone tasted nice, but I just don't think this is my favorite way to eat salmon. I'd definitely love to go back for more burgers but also to try the tri-tip sandwich. I also tried their mezcal and passionfruit cocktail, which was solid. I loved how casual the restaurant was, but the soft glow really romanticized the place. This is definitely a place to consider if you're around Laguna!
As others have already said, AhbA is very popular on social media and that's also how I was influenced to try it. First off, parking is limited to what you can find on the street. The restaurant itself is very cute and quaint, with seating both inside and outside. You order at a window and pick up your drink, if you get one, at a different window. The staff was so sweet by the way! Timing worked out perfectly as I came by during happy hour. And their happy hour food and drink selection is pretty good! I ordered their infamous burger (just the single patty though) along with the te culpo cocktail to wash it down. The burger was really yummy I can't lie. It is kinda small given its price, but I thought it was still good to try. The te culpo cocktail was super refreshing and, surprisingly, a bit on the stronger side. I like this spot, so I'll be back for sure. I'd probably get the full burger next time.
This has got to be my favorite place to get a cheeseburger. It is perfectly done, with delicious cheese, and a little spice. Served with a side of crispy fries? Every pregnant girl's dream!! I enjoyed the casual setting of this restaurant and think it's adorable how it's set up along PCH with an ordering window, and a bar pickup window. Great spot to grab a bite before or after the beach
It was always in the back of my mind to visit this place whenever I stop by Laguna, since I've seen it all over social media. The aesthetics and vibes were very cute and photogenic, and I see why this place has gone viral. Street parking was a bit rough, but it was probably the spring break crowd. However. Upon the recommendation of a coworker who raved about everything on the menu, I grabbed the classic burger, upgraded to a side caesar salad, and shared a plate of fries. Like, let me play it safe and try the basics on the menu first, because in my head, I was already imagining bringing friends here in the future. Dare I say that everything I ordered was just bland and unseasoned. Burger was decidedly average, nothing special. It looked like, and tasted like a high school cafeteria burger, if I'm going to be so honest. Salad looked good (for the camera), and fries were fine, I guess. I felt so underwhelmed by the food (especially at the price point) since it was such a stark difference from the actual decor and hype I saw online. Although, when I came back to the counter to order a Mexican coke, I did notice they sell sauces on the side for like 75 cents. But, just the overall taste in everything I ordered was underwhelmingly flavorless. I feel like the food should stand on its own without adding sauces. Another thing, which I also see in other reviews: auto tip starts at 20% for a walk-up counter. It def was a bit awkward to manually change the tip amount while the cashier was staring down at me. Lastly, this restaurant has vague/unclear Mediterranean roots, if you know what I mean. The cashier himself seemed hesitant to explain when I asked what kind of Mediterranean food this restaurant serves. On Yelp, the restaurant is listed as "New American" cuisine, but I looked at news articles later on about the chef's inspirations/ recipes, which are served with an "Israeli flare". You can decide yourself what to do with that information.
I know this is going to be a hot take, but I'm not sure what the hype is about surrounding AhbA. After seeing endless videos on social media about this spot, I figured I'd give it a try. It's tucked a little way off the main area of Laguna but still easily accessible. The inside offers a good amount of seating for the size and the outdoor seating looks a bit close together but nothing that would make or break the experience. Ordering at the window was easy and I was able to find a spot inside. I'd apparently just missed the huge lunch rush which would make sense for a Saturday afternoon. The guy who took my order was super sweet and helpful. My food came out pretty quickly but when they set the plate down, I was a bit disappointed. The burger looked to be pretty standard, like a diner burger. While looks can be deceiving, the burger did have some good flavor, thanks to the pepper spread they put on there. But if I'm honest, the spread is what made the burger good. The Cajun fries were the star of the show, offering a nice kick to complement the burger. I'm glad I gave this place a try and it was a decent meal; however, I'm not sure it's worth the relatively steep price or the hype it's getting. That's the beauty of food though, it's all based on what you like and maybe this burger does it for other people.
First time coming here ! It's a hidden gem. You can tell locals come here a lot. One thing I will say the parking is hard to find. You will have to park on the street. When you arrive here, I recommend scanning the QR code to see the menu. You order your food first and then find your seating. I had to try their famous Ahba burger and let me tell you it was so delicious. So beefy and filling! Had their Vanilla Latte and it was made just right!! Cute little beachy vibe spot.
I had the privilege of being waited on by Matt P: the exceptionally congenial & professional manager of the very quaint, the very sexy Ahba Laguna. Matt's promptness, attention to detail, & willingness to provide a seamless experience really made a remarkable first impression on my already stunned face. I had a unique order that is not typically on the Ahba menu. I wanted a glass of OJ, & Ahba was not exactly serving breakfast drinks at 7p when I placed the order. However, Matt made it happen. I do not know how or where Ahba gets their OJ from. I do know the juice tastes like the oranges were picked from a tree of life, squeezed by the tender hands of archangels, & dripped into elegant plastic bottles. The bottle of OJ Matt produced from the back of Ahba might well have been the sweetest, most nourishing, taste slaking juice I have had in years. Two friends dining with me asked for a taste due to my bemusement with it. Their reactions were similar: the OJ elicited awe. I complemented my OJ with a smashburger and fries. A demonstrably savory burger. I had to set my gullet to inhale after the first bite because the smashburger is addicting. Once I had made the smashburger disappear, I ate the fries. Slowly at first, & then more quickly as my appetite for them grew more ravenous. I left Ahba quite sated. Yes the drinks and entrees are all refreshing & enriching. I must recommend begging Matt or whoever at Agba will listen for a bottle of their fresh OJ. To not try the juice at this eatery suggests a wasted life. Orange you glad I passed on this wisdom.
I have driven by here so many times on my way to Laguna and my friend said it was great so I ordered it from Uber eats tonight. I'm definitely hard to please and high maintenance. They have a lot of boxes for me to check off of stuff I don't like cheese I'll let you know how it is! It looks really healthy so that's a good start! The cauliflower was super spicy but the yogurt sauce diluted it luckily. Average cucumber salad but I like the crispy salmon on top! That was the highlight of my delivered meal. The side of chicken breast was OK. The yams were bland and need some tahini I'm excited to dine in next time! I'm sure it will be amazing!

Went for brunch on a Sunday. Food is good and we got plenty of different items. Missing pics from some food items. Favorites were the whipped feta and the french toast. We also got the american breakfast and the breakfast burrito which were pretty solid as well. Service is generally OK, but vibes are amazing. Parking can sometimes be tough but overall manageable. Will be back soon to try some other items! Always like to go for a stroll on the opposite side for unlimited ocean views after brunch and recommend you do the same!
I had been to the AhbA in Costa Mesa and was curious to try the Laguna Beach location. It's set in a house on PCH, where you order from a window and then take your number to a table, either inside or outside. I ordered the avocado toast off the brunch menu. This was the most disappointing avocado toast I've ever eaten. I don't remember what the menu description was, but I swear it sounded better than what I received - thin avocado slices on a overly toasted piece of bread, with some feta cheese crumbles, drizzle of olive oil and sea salt. I felt pretty stupid for ordering it. My husband's shakshuka was fine. It lacked the spicy heat that one normally expects from the fiery tomato sauce. AhbA is super popular, so maybe I ordered wrong. I should have thrown caution to the winds and ordered the smash burger - arteries be damned.
I usually go to Ahba Restaurant for their labneh toast and avocado toast, but this time I decided to try something different--and wow, I'm so glad I did. The Caesar salad was absolutely out of this world. The dressing was incredibly flavorful (I even asked for extra!), and it really made the whole dish stand out. The burger was also perfectly done, topped with caramelized onions and cheese--honestly, such a great keto-friendly breakfast option. Of course, I couldn't skip their cappuccino. It came with beautiful latte art, and it tasted just as good as it looked. The vibe here is always a win--super chill, stylish, and you can choose to sit inside or outside. Everything is consistently fresh and delicious. Definitely one of my favorite spots for brunch on weekends!
The service was friendly in the food area. I came around 5:30pm on Sunday night and went to the bar to get a drink but was told they were closing even though the restaurant was completely full. I was advised to go to the speakeasy next door where it was busy and took a long time to order a drink. Yeah so the reviews definitely weren't lying about AhbA having the best burgers in OC. The burger was so divine I don't even know how to begin to describe it. The meat omg... perfect. The garlic aioli that comes with it was to die for, and their fries are probably the best fries I've ever had. They were perfectly crispy and just the right thickness. The burger bun was also so soft, everything about that burger was perfect. My brother got the fried chicken sandwich and it was also good but not comparable to the burger. This place was such an adorable hidden gem in south Laguna. The place itself is charming, it feels so cozy and homey. The architecture adds to this, it feels like you are in someone's home! But it is also very spacious and professional. There are lots of indoor and outdoor tables to choose from with very cute cactus decor and string lighting. You order at the counter and sit down. We actually chose to sit next door at Helen's Cocktails and they served us our Food there which was fun. The Ahba burger was incredible! The wagyu meat was so soft and tender, it melted in your mouth. The fries were cooked nicely and the aioli was delicious. read more

Came to celebrate a birthday! If you have a party of 10 or more they let you make reservations online which was super helpful on a Saturday morning. You order at the side counter, and then they bring your food to the table. The staff is super friendly, and the food is so good! The AhbA burger and gem salad are our staple faves, but we tried some brunch items as well this time and they were yummy! read more

Definitely feel like I came in overhyped and was expecting more than I should have. Overall the food was nothing more than just okay, nothing stood out (except the broccolini that is not pictured). The interior is cute though, one side has a very much "homey" feel with couches , rugs, a Tv, just like a living room. There is also the other side where you order which is more like a small mess hall. Ahba Burger - what I was most excited for. This didn't stand out at all, an In N Out burger tasted better. Mayfield had a very strong burger I'd much rather get than this. Wings - these were bad. Bad flavor and bad texture, nothing enjoyable. I had one wing and left the rest. Sweet potatoes - OILY. They also felt undercooked and not enough seasoning. I was also excited for these but was underwhelmed. Caesar salad - this was good, nothing stood out but nothing bad. Purple lemonade - No clear flavor, slightly sweet, no hint of citrus or blueberry. Disappointing and would strongly advise to pass for $9. Staff was quick and kind, but I would not return considering the price and experience with food. read more

When driving by, you probably wonder, "What is this cute place?" Parking is street, you may find it easy, or you may not, but this place is worth trying out. I love the double opened doors that connects the inside and outside seating areas, there is also some seating on the side. The Egg Sammie ($14) is so satisfying, worth its weight in egg, it came with a garlic aioli that was the cherry on top. The fries (+$2) were perfect. The latte ($5.50) was weak probably won't be ordering any coffee from here but the Orange Wine ($15) made up for it. Order on the side, menus are via QR code. There are multiple menus, it's very scatter brained. Pick up your drinks further deep on the side. Seat yourself anywhere you like and enjoy! read more

I think this restaurant is overrated. Although I will say the workers are all nice and busy bustling around, the food just fell short from what I've heard about it. I ordered an egg sandwich that had two pieces of bacon in it. The bacon was basically chicharrone with how overcooked it was. My bf liked the burger, which is their popular dish, and the fries on the side were CRISPPP. Could be a toothpick. Don't expect the burger to be life changing. It was $45 for these two dishes and an orange juice. Good OJ though! read more

This place was super fun. I can't believe we didn't know about this place before. The service was amazing. We ordered the roasted chicken. It was divine. The Caesar salad was very tasty. I ordered the whole Brandzino And unfortunately, it was absolutely covered in this very spicy chimichurri type sauce. ( I know I probably should've asked for it on the side however I didn't think the fish would be swimming in it) This is a very kid friendly, dog friendly , beachy and comforting place to hang and grab a bite. They do have in the back of the place for you to order cocktails , very cute and the bartender was so sweet. Right next-door to this restaurant is a little speakeasy called Helen's Oh my goodness you have to step inside this place. It will take you back to the late 70s early 80s vibe . I love the location of this spot. A group of us friends were looking for somewhere to eat and we decided on here and it was so nice! We went at night and sat outdoors and the ambiance was great. You order at a window and then the food is brought out to you. All of the servers were pretty attentive and friendly. We all ended up ordering the AhbA burger and it was really good! Had a really great experience at this restaurant. We were looking for restaurants nearby to bring our dog then found this place. It's order at the counter and then find your own seat. The servers bring out your food for you. The prices aren't absurd for Laguna beach and especially for the quality of food so I will probably come back. We ordered drinks and food. Got the sweet potato as an appetizer which was amazing - I recommend. Also got the chicken sandwich, burger, and steak frites. All were delicious. Ambiance was great and the decor was cute. Really chill place to have brunch on the weekend. I opted for the avocado toast for a light snack and this was probably one of the best avocado toast I've ever had. Bread was perfect, avocado was perfect and the toppings were all amazing. Loved the fresh dill on this. Seriously would check this place out again in a heartbeat to try some other stuff on their menu. Staff were all super friendly. I'm not a drinker so opted for the mocktail not knowing what to expect and was pleasantly surprised with the ginger beer and lime mix they got going here. Was pretty solid. Some nuances of this place. Parking requires planning there's some stret parking in the area but you may need to park further out and walk to get a spot. super cute burger spot in laguna beach! we came on a saturday afternoon and it wasn't as packed as i expected (we were able to find seating right away). the mac and cheese was so good! it was super flavorful but not intense either. the caesar salad and ahba burger were also yummy but weren't as memorable as i hoped they would be given the price point. like other reviews have mentioned, parking is a bit difficult to find but there are many neighboring streets you can park in. overall a great spot if you want a quick yummy lunch! read more

it was my moms 56th birthday and we celebrated last saturday :) the food was delicious, not so many vegan options but from my family they were raving about the food. the service was amazing too someone brought my mom a free drink (one that she had ordered previously) because it was her birthday. we sat outside and they had a heater which made it much more enjoyable to be outside. read more
Finally tried it after always driving by and seeing the crowds! It was DEFINITELY worth it. The vibes are great, it's a perfect chill spot in Laguna beach and the food is delicious. It was almost there for our taste buds. One person had the BLT which was good but the bread was toasted and it didn't take long for it to become hard. I had the Chicken Fried Sandwich and it was ok. The seasoning for the chicken was a little bland. As a Nashville style chicken sandwich enthusiast, I would give it a 5/10. The idea was there but with the lack of seasoning and size, it was a little sad in my opinion. The other person in our group has the Chicken Pita Sandwich and said it was very delicious. It's taken me a few years to try the food here. I've heard from so many of the locals how great this place was and today my experience did not live up to the hype. Granted, I had it delivered, but it came hot and how they prepared it. I just don't know why so many locals would rave about this place with an $18 double burger that is smaller than most fast food burgers. It kind of reminds me of the whammy burger from the movie, falling down where Michael Douglas walks in to get breakfast and they won't give it to him. So he orders a burger and complains that it didn't look like the picture up on the wall. This is the same thing. It does not look like the pictures I've seen at the restaurant where it is 2 feet tall with condiments falling out of it, and you could not fit it in your mouth. Honestly one star for the food for being so good and flavorful and unique dishes on menu which we WISH we tried but didn't get to. we showed up on at 5 pm when is when dinner usually starts and they managed to be out of their lamb labneh and carrot cake and another appetizer... I don't understand how you can be out of some of your top dishes so early on in the night. And then the location, so small and congested with flies roaming around while you're trying to have dinner. Burger was subpar nothing special, crystal cover shake shack is better. And service was awful- they brought our mains and all appetizers ordered at same time when we emphasized to them beforehand to course it out bc we don't like cold food or our mains coming out before appetizer. Then when we gave back our main course for it coming out first, they brought our main course again after appetizers but it took over 45 minutes. Like it's a burger... why take that long? They just don't know how to run a restaurant properly. The hummus with jam was delicious but I really wanted to try other dishes on the menu that they were out of. This place is better for takeout than dine in. They should tear it down and reconstruct because the menu has good stuff but location and ambiance of restaurant sucks. read more

Amazing chill place for Sunday brunch. We arrived around 11:15am and the ordering line moved quickly. We sat outside and got seating in the corner with a cute patio couch. Food was super tasty and service was easy (order in the back, drinks are picked up in the back, food is brought pretty quickly to your table). Parking was the only thing that might take a while but there were a few spots right in front of AhbA! Highly recommend! Oh and the waiter recommended the chicken sandwich so that will have to be for next time. read more

Cool vibe, place was bustling. The food was just ok, dissappointing to be honest. I dont think they use salt here, as the food lacked flavor. Decent double smash burger but tasteless. The fries too, under cooked (not crisp), supposedly cooked in cow tallow, no flavor. Cocktails were mid. You order your food, take a number and they run your food. They are not good about turning tables here. We found a seat and had to ask for the runner/busses to clear off the previous guest dishes. They didn't wipe down our table and we had to ask for utensils, not very clean IMO. The staff running around are not anticipating or being proactive with clearing tables. Staff are cold and unwelcoming. No friendly vibes here. Cool spot, definitely hyped but the place needs some warm hospitality while the dining room tables/chairs need some TLC. read more

A Laguna staple! Such a beautiful quaint restaurant. They are right off pch and look someone's house. There's indoor seating / communal table. Majority seating is outdoor. People are always coming and going so wait is never too long. Service is friendly and great. You order at the window and seat yourself. Drinks are great ! Margarita was super refreshing. Beet salad was delicious if you love beets. The star of the show the burger ! They come as a double and give off that classic burger and fries vibe. The vibe here feels so cute and cozy! Lots of open air coming in and you order at the counter then sit at the table and they bring you your food. We got the brocollini and it was SO TASTY! We absolutely enjoyed it and the chili oil they had on top + the shallots really tied in together well. We also got the steak frites and the garlic butter they had on top was amazing. The fries are thin and crunchy - my favorite kind. We also came on a wine night, so we spent $25 for a bottle. The wine was sweet and citrusy. We would definitely come again! read more
Omg! This restaurant is everything and more. I visited Ahba after spending a day at Laguna. The food is AMAZING and the location is great. We were able to enjoy our meal while people watching at one of the picnic tables on the patio. The menu is somewhat small in variety but that doesn't matter because every menu item is A1. Omg best burger for sure. Both times we went there wasn't a long line which was great. I got the burger both times and it was delicious! Fries were excellent. Cesar salad was delicious and a fun sub for the fries. I'd pass on the iced tea if I went back. My friend got the chicken sandwich which I didn't love as much as the burger. It was so fresh and cheesy and delicious. The garlic aioli was $$. Don't skip dunking everything in it. There was also a cute stretch of beach close by which was fun to visit. We found parking on a side street. Loved the eclectic homey vibe. read more
