Arrived 10 minutes prior to appointment and was one of only 3 others in waiting room with appointments; all the others were walk-ins. Appointment obviously meant nothing. I was finally called into a room 40 minutes after my appointment. Waited another 10 minutes for a technician to draw my blood. Flobotomist could not find a vein after several painful attempts. He had to call on another person to draw blood from my other arm. She came in 10 minutes later, laughing like Dr. Hibbert from the Simpsons. I let her know that I was not happy about their service. She laughed even more saying that's too bad, they are awfully busy. I told her about several walk-ins being treated before my appointment time, but she didn't seem to care. I ended up having to cancel my physical therapy appointment because of the delays here. Why bother going through the trouble of making appointments if can walk in and get served first?

I was greeted by a woman at the front desk and taken cared of in the best way by my phlebotomist. I didn't get his name but he did so well with keeping me calm. I'm not afraid of needles but blood does make me a little anxious. The flow was quick and process was easy. I was in and out in less than 30 minutes. First, let me say this place was amazingly clean, and even had refreshments in waiting area. The young lady at the counter was friendly and professional. You hand them your ID and health insurance card... and the rest is done on your phone.. so easy!!! I don't feel the wait was very long, especially for a weekend at an urgent care. I was seen rather quickly and my entire visit, including X-rays, results, medications and paperwork was just over an hour. I think I take longer at my regular doctor sometimes!!! Everyone was professional, friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The doctor explained everything to me, they gave me some shots to get thru the day... and I think this was an amazing experience! Unfortunately, 2 days after visiting, my experience left me frustrated and scratching my head. My main complaint is I was prescribed fluoroquinolone antibiotics (Cipro) for a sting ray sting, without any mention about the well documented risks associated with lasting tendon rupture and collagen matrix disruption. It was only once I'd done my research that I had to call to see if we can switch. One of the PA's (Paula, also exceptional) took my call and even said she was glad that I caught that and did not understand why I was prescribed Cipro when there are much safer alternatives out there. When I had gone in, I was also given a steroid shot to help with inflammation and left in the room for some time. I started to get quite nauseous and felt close to fainting. I had to step outside and call for someone, just to be told "yeah this happens often, forgot to warn you" and "you beat me to checking in on you." What's worse is I came to find out combining fluoroquinolones with corticosteroids (steroid shots) have been documented to a FOURTEEN (14!) FOLD increased risk of tendinopathy and tendon rupture (D. Baggio, M.R. Andana-Rajah, 2021). Why on earth would you combine a fluoroquinolone and corticosteroids? If there are safer antibiotics, why fluoroquinolone alone? The whole experience just feels medically untrained or professionally careless. I'm completely bewildered, and quite frustrated.

Like most of us, my wife does not enjoy getting blood drawn, but she said the staff was courteous and competent. Tip: My wife had a 10am appointment, we arrived around 9:40, it was very busy with many people waiting. She was called at 9:50 so appointment really helped. Parking: paid lot but we were able to find 2-hour street parking next to the Thrift store across the street at 9:30am on a Monday.

I thought I would be seeing the usual person I always see, Tito. And even told my son prior, "you'll get your blood drawn by someone who always draws my blood, his name is Tito. Hopefully, he's there." To my surprise, Wendy greeted me after I did a mobile check in, inside my car, which might I add is very convenient. The earliest it allowed me to check in was 10 mins prior to our appointment. It instructed me to go into the center and Wendy immediately brought me and my 8 year old son back. Wendy was very nice, patient, and did a great job when drawing my son's blood, poked him once on his right antecubital and drew the blood right away. My son said it felt like a "sting" but that was it. He was nervous beforehand but didn't cry and was even able to look at the needle in his arm and the 2 vials while it was filling with his blood.
