Broooo!!! We came across this truck stand during the weekend and let me tell you, the food is as legit as the clever name!!! We ordered a few things but what stood out the most was this bfast burrito and omggg IT WAS AMAZING!! Food tastes amazing, chicken seasoned perfect , eggs nice and fluffy, you get a whole lot of authentic flavor when taking the first bite!!! Chipotle sauce is highly recommended as well!! The yellow food truck made its appearance at our Yelpies Ceremony Event last night, and I was thrilled and ready to try the "OG Burger" Even though the line was long, Ahhhuevo was serving as quick as they can and efficient at it as well. Great attitude held well and everyone seemed very pleased with their orders! Tonight's menu option for the event were two types of burritos and the OG Burger. I really enjoyed my OG Burger, the bun was so good and soft, the meat was cooked well held its juices and to top it off, a nice sweet sauce added overall, this made the burger flavors outstanding! I had the crispy chicken sandwich and it was next level! The chicken was perfectly crispy, the bun was soft and fresh, and the whole combo was just unique, way more flavorful than your average chicken sandwich. The fries were perfectly crispy . Service was 5/5! This might be one of the most worth-it breakfast meals I've had in a while. The fries were hot, fresh, and had that real-deal texture, none of that limp, basic stuff. The burrito was crunchy, flavorful, and tasted exactly how you want a good breakfast burrito to taste. I'm usually super cautious when it comes to greasy food or meat that's too much, but this one was surprisingly balanced. It didn't leave me feeling heavy, just full and happy. I didn't get a photo of the chicken (still thinking about it though). If you're into something savory with just the right touch of tang, you need to try it. Didn't know what to expect from this place. My boyfriend stopped by to get me food and told me the owner choose what to give us. We were absolutely blown away to find a breakfast sandwich, breakfast burrito, fries, along with wings. Everything was absolutely remarkable especially the wings, which was so surprising it being an egg truck. Compliments to the chef! This guy provided an excellent example of top tier customer service, answering all my questions and being super patient with me. I ordered the loaded tots with my egg over medium. My egg was cooked perfectly. The sauce and chicken were absolutely fire and I want more. My only complaint is that the egg didn't look as pretty as it should have due to the heat of the grill?? It made the egg look dirty lol but I can't wait to try more off their menu! read more

Oh. My. God. I can't believe how flavorful everything was!! I ordered a breakfast burrito, lemon pepper wings and a churro. I was blown away by all 3! The breakfast burrito had both bacon AND sausage, but somehow there wasn't too much meat and neither one was greasy. The flavors overall melded together PERFECTLY! And while I'm a wimp when it comes to spice, Chef Maurice let me taste the salsa that goes inside. It had a zing but it didn't melt my face off. I was so pleasantly surprised that I let him keep it in! And don't get me started on that lemon pepper wing! It's the wing that every restaurant THINKS they're making. It was seasoned excellently, fried to a great crunch, but not overcooked, so the inside was still juicy. And the churro!!! It wasn't covered in cinnamon and sugar. It was seasoned well with both. And again, fried to a crisp on the outside, but the inside was soft and spongy! It wasn't greasy either! This may be my new favorite food truck! My boyfriend and I found this food truck while walking around Lake Balboa and decided to try it, which I'm so glad we did! I had the loaded tots (pictured below) and they were amazing! Tots were nice and crispy, not too much sauce where it became soggy, chicken was flavorful and cooked perfectly, and the egg was just how I liked it. My boyfriend had the chicken club and he practically devoured it too. The man working, who I assume was the owner, was super friendly, food came out fast, had good music playing, and even was kind enough to deliver our food to a park table so we didn't have to stand. He even ran after us when we left to give us free churros!!!! Not only will I eat here every time I go to lake balboa, but I would 100% go out of my way just to come back to eat here too. read more

I found AhhHuevo on Yelp. We went on the weekend when they are located at 6300 N. Balboa Blvd. If you navigate to that address, it will take you to the entrance on the west side of the park. You will have to actually travel all the way through the park almost to Woodley. There is a golf course with it's own parking lot and the Foodtruck is parked right next to the building. I'm so glad that we found it because it was a terrific discovery. From other reviews, I believe the owner is Moe and he is great! Terrific personality and service and great music playing too. 5/5 - Papas: Crispy tots with roast pork belly, crispy onions, Dutch sauce, red chili and lime aioli, poached eggs and scallions. The eggs were gorgeous and the dish was SO filling! 4/5 - Brulee and Pollo: Caramel crusted creme brulee toast, cheesy scrambled eggs and citrus fried chicken breast. The chicken has a Nashville mildly spicy rub on it. The chicken is tender and has a nice kick. The toast is a very interesting flavor and is similar to bread pudding. You get a lot of sweet and a lot of spicy in this one dish. It's an unusual pairing, but everything is really good. I would totally return to this truck and recommend others to go there as well! read more

Talk about being at the right place at the right time. Walking up to the truck I was greeted right away. His energy was just exceptional. He directed me to the menu right away to view the items. Came across this food truck by Woodley Golf Course! And glad we did! Perfect place to grab brunch and take out for a picnic! I got Ahh Papas which were just amazing! So much pork belly!and crispy tots ! I got to say my personal favorite dish on the menu! 100% got my breakfast fix. And my boyfriend got Chix, probably one of the best chicken sandwiches we've tried. Crispy and flavorful on the outside and juicy and super tender on the inside! It was hot the day we went and the line slowly started to get longer but I have never been met by so much positive energy! So, when fellow Yelper and dining partner Michael B. suggested we try North Hollywood's Birrieria Familia Castro (only minutes from my apartment!) which received the coveted #1 position on Yelp's Top 100 Taco Spots list - I was hesitant. I wanted to hate it. But there is no way to hate Birrieria Familia Castro because they deserve their title. Let's explore... Birrieria Familia Castro is located near the Oxnard/Vineland intersection close to the Noho Arts District in a teeny tiny strip plaza next to a smoke shop across the street from a tire shop. Being the literal definition of 'hole in the wall'; don't let this environment detour you from dining at Birrieria Familia Castro because it is these hidden gems that are often the best (and obviously in this case). Birrieria Familia Castro is a family-owned eatery that is the baby of Anthony Castro and his parents opening the venture in 2022 and focusing on homemade recipes passed-down generations of their family tree focusing on layers of flavor and hours of marinading and simmering. Anthony begins his day with a prayer and takes nothing for granted with each patron who walks in the door. Those who Anthony welcomes will find a tiny dining space in terms of square footage and super-hot in temperature (their AC isn't the most consistent so they need to open the door as the day-long cooking heats the space); but it is clean and cozy enough. The menu at Birrieria Familia Castro is rather simple focusing on what they are good at: breakfast, tacos, various birrias (quesatacos, vampiros, mulitas, dorados) and some a la carte plates. I personally enjoyed the smaller menu as I tend to get overwhelmed with too many choices. For my dinner, I chose two Quesatacos (crispy corn tortillas filled with meat, mozzarella, onions and cilantro - $5.25 each choosing one birria and one asada) while my dining partner chose two Birria Vampiros (toasted corn tortilla with meat in between burned cheese on top, onion and cilantro served with beans and rice - $13. 49) plus, Birrieria Familia Castro's famous birria consommé. Our dishes arrived rather quickly and were served on gorgeous, culturally-authentic clay plates that I thought were a lovely touch. My desire to go against the popular fan-favorites is out the door because Birrieria Familia Castro is sooooooo goooodddd! My quesatacos were fantastic: perfect texture tortillas made by spreading the consommé fat on the tacos because throwing them on a hot griddle with tender, amazingly-flavored long-simmered meat. Even the little picked onions were marvelous. The birria consommé was to die for: an orchestra of harmonious flavor with chunks of meat swimming in the broth: I could consume a bucket of this! Yelper Michael B.'s Birria Vampiros were, by his account, delicious and "a win": hard shell with burned cheese that was a perfect combination with the pickled onions and tableside salsas and birria consommé. Micheal even mixed some of the consommé with the rice and beans which was "an extra treat". If the amazing food wasn't enough; we had a pleasant chat with the main man Anthony, himself. Anthony is hyper-focused on not only offering delicious food; but genuinely caring about his customers and how he can improve. Anthony reads all Yelp reviews to see any areas that need finessing and cares about small details of his business: remember those clay plates I am obsessed with? Anthony curates those from an artist in Mexico and he even orders plates with dividers for those who don't like ingredients touching on their plate. It is this concern and attention to detail that helped land Birrieria Familia Castro as Yelp's #1 in the nation. Although limited in hours (closed Mondays, some days closing as early as 5pm due to overhead costs and competition); Birrieria Familia Castro is highly recommended.
