Well Well ... what did I just walk into ? Burbank / Toluca Lake needed this !!! The rule is that you eat with your eyes first then you take a bite !!! One of the very few spots that delivers on both on a very high level .. as you can see in the pics it is as appetizing as it can be and it tastes twice as good as it looks ! Definitely coming back for more ... Let's talk about service .. as you will get to read my reviews, it will be very apparent that service and ambiance are more important for me !! This establishment does not take that lightly and I'm glad .. what an establishment Service 10/10 Ambiance 10/10 Food 10/10

Stumbled upon the sandwich shop while on the area. We weren't quite sure what we wanted and as we were walking toward our original destination around the corner decided to give the Sando Shop a try. The sandos are definitely an elevated experience to the more well know sub sandos around town. The service was ok. I'm sure they could tell it was our first time visiting, a little extra friendliness or help would have been welcomed. We sat out side and enjoyed our sandwiches.

Pretty good sandwich spot in Burbank. Ordered online and drove there from the office. Parking was a bit of a pain as it was a street with a lot of restaurants and it was peak lunch time. But staff was friendly and the sandwich was yummy!

Got the XL Uncle Nikki sandwich. To my understanding, sandwiches come in L, XL (same bread with 1.5 times the toppings, meats and cheese), and 2XL (same bread with 2x everything). Solid sandwich! The bread especially was great, but I'm unsure if it was worth the $19+ price. I'm not a sandwich connoisseur, but nothing about the meat quality or fillings particularly blew me away. Perhaps their other sandwiches are more standout! Service was decently fast, and the ambiance was nothing fancy. But it was clean with both indoor and outdoor seating. Street parking in a busier area, FYI.

Second time here, and it's just as great as the first! The sandwiches are consistently good and honestly, the bread is the star of the show. It's fresh, flavorful, and the perfect base for all the delicious fillings. I had the club with turkey and bacon today, and it was a total winner crispy, savory, and perfectly balanced. The staff really makes the experience special too. They took the time to recommend a sandwich and explained everything patiently, which made the decision so much easier and more enjoyable. The atmosphere is welcoming and relaxed, making it a great spot to unwind while you eat. Can't wait to try more options next time and highly recommend!

3.5/5 It is a pricey-er sandwich shop but they kinda make up for it with lots of fresh ingredients inside. The dutch bread used for all sandwiches here has a unique texture. There's a bite to it at the crust. But the inside is soft. Parking is limited.

Plentiful seating indoors and outdoors. Love Dutch crunch so I was happy to find this chain that focuses on making Dutch crunch sandwiches! The Santa Monica was super tasty, filling, and saucy. I got a large and still had leftovers!

Pros: - Service is prompt - Highly recommend The melrose sandwich. Delicious with a bit of spice! - $35 for 2 adults including chips and drink - Seating indoors and outdoors Cons: - Parking is limited but there is a good amount of street parking. - restroom needed a cleaning.

Cozy sandwich spot with indoor and outdoor seating. The sandos are made with warm Crunchy Dutch bread and a nice amount of meat. They have a good variety of bread sizes and different spreads for your sandwich. They also offer hot or cold sandwiches, but your bread will always be warm. Everything is an add on from the meat to the spreads unless you only want mayo or mustard. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Street parking can be a little difficult.

    Heather L.

I had their Melrose, which was packed with flavor. Looking at the amount of fillings, I thought it was going to be very salty, but it wasn't at all, which was a nice surprise. The bread was on the softer side, which I liked. Although it says they have a private parking lot, it's really just a few spaces in a small alley next to the sandwich shop, and there was no street parking on a weekday around 11 a.m. I'd definitely go back to try their other sandwiches.

Tried their popular Melrose Sandwich, and wasn't wowed. I had the "regular" size (6 inch) and while the length was what I asked for, the width and height were smaller than I expected. Not very generous in the meat department either. Better values are readily available elsewhere.

I first went to Ghost Sando after the Melrose location went viral in Tiktok and was pleasantly surprised to find that there was a location near Burbank. Their building is a unique greenish blue color and hard to miss. Their packaging is also the same color and it's super cute! Parking can be a little tough in the area. I usually street park further away and walk over. I've taken my boyfriend and my sisters here on multiple occasions. And they all enjoyed it! My boyfriend has allergies and usually asks to remove dairy products from his order and the staff is very accommodating. I always try something new when I come and enjoyed each sandwich I've tried. I prefer their hot sandwiches over their cold ones, and its's best eaten fresh as soon as you get it from the counter!

The lasagna is delicious, and the noodles melt in your mouth. I like it because it's not overly heavy like some other lasagnas. It comes with two piecea of garlic bread. During my last visit, one was a bit burnt on the edges. The pastrami sandwich is really tasty, and the bread is soft but still has a nice chew. It usually comes with marinated diced tomatoes, but I always ask for them on the side. If you dine in, the sandwich comes with two deli sides. On my last visit, I got the potato salad and marinated artichokes and both were great. The potato salad was creamy, and the artichokes were super flavorful. For dessert, I tried the tiramisu, and it was a bit underwhelming. It had a slightly gritty texture. Since it's imported from Italy, I had high expectations, but I'm guessing it's shipped frozen, which might be why it didn't taste fresh. I wouldn't order it again. They also sell Italian cookies and gelato. The cookies are good, especially the raspberry ones. The gelato is really refreshing. I recommend mixing mango and raspberry if you like something tart, or trying the tiramisu flavor if you want something sweeter. It's a cafeteria-style deli, so you order at the counter, pay, and then find a table. They also have outdoor seating.

This one was PERFECT in the crisp factor and the toppings, were fantastic. To top it all off, we got some gelato which exactly the kinds of thing that helps shake off a heatwave. The people serving us were super friendly and it genuinely makes me wish I had known about this place sooner. The GARLIC BREAD was so fantastically tasty that I could have made it a dish all by itself. I am honestly surprised that they are allowed to call themselves "Katz's Deli," since I'm sure I'm not the only one that came here thinking it's the NYC one... anyways... should've read through the yelp reviews closer. Regardless, the quality of the food, particularly the pastrami sandwiches, is very high. The pastrami is diced up into cubes, rather than slices. I would prefer them to be slices but the taste was still amazing. I tried the regular pastrami sandwich ($20) as well as the pastrami reuben sandwich ($23). While both are pastrami sandwiches, I would highly recommend paying the extra $3 to get it as a reuben sandwich, as it comes toasted and with Russian dressing and sauerkraut in it as well. The pastrami sandwich is pretty ordinary but the reuben sandwich is very delicious. The sandwiches also come with your choice of mac salad, potato salad, or coleslaw. We tried one of the mac salad and one potato salad, and they were pretty mid but not bad tbh. Service is nice. I believe the countertop is run by an older couple. It seems like they have been doing this for a while. We waited for about 20-30 minutes for our food. Again, it's located in the back of a liquor store so while we were waiting, we just had to awkwardly stand around in the liquor store. There is seating outside, but it was in the sun and it was a hot day today. We ended up taking the food togo to eat somewhere else. Overall, good food. Feels slightly deceptive with the name but surprised with the great flavors of the food. Solid 4/5.

Imagine rows of radicchio, rainbow chard, exquisite endive, squash blossoms, sunchokes and artichokes, fennel with their fronds tangled in long red chilies surrounded by pungent herbs like perilla, lovage, tarragon. An extra star just for that. But... My only gripe is their weekly Saturday BBQ. Through the years I have enjoyed both kinds of ribs, the brisket, sausages, turkey and chicken that they cook and smoke right outside in the parking lot. Even if you don't see it, you'll smell it within a couple blocks. I can't think of a better way to promote a bbq business and Handy Market knows it. They're counting on all the new customers who get lured in by the intoxicating scent of grilled meats on live fire to try this sad, sorry excuse that they call BBQ. All the meats are dry, tasteless and overcooked. They do not season any of the meat, not even a lick of salt. They want you to buy their sugary bbq sauce and baste them on the grill. Meaning you still have to finish cooking it at home but it was tasty enough and the price was low so it was worth doing for many years. Lately though, it's been expensive and inedible. The quality of all the meat has become sus and I was sold the driest beef ribs with texture like leather, that they probably dug up from the back of a freezer and a smelly turkey leg that's left over from like, Thanksgiving. My homemade bbq sauce could not save either meat and suffice to say I will never order barbecue from here again. What's happened to you, Handy Mart? I just can't believe you've slipped so far. This is the worst bbq in all of LA and I cannot recommend anyone eating here. Those brave souls who do not heed this cautionary tale cannot say you haven't been warned. Good luck.

The star of my meal at Hank's was their Number 1 bagel sandwich. That alone warrants a 4.5 star rating. Hank's is located in Burbank, CA., specifically on Riverside Drive and Valley Street. Rose Street is another cross street. It's across from Sweetgreen and Philz Coffee. It's on the same side of Mendocino Farms and just down the road from Bob's Big Boy. The shop is neighbors to Tocaya Organica. Parking is street parking and neighborhood parking, which is where we parked and had to walk about a block to Hank's. There isn't any indoor seating, but there are outdoor covered umbrella seating in front of the shop. It would be challenging to have a large group dine there. The shop is all about their bagels, so the decor is minimal with tshirts hanging on their white walls, a glass display case showing their cream cheeses and other cold items, and a wire rack showing their Dirty Deli Style Potato Chips for sale. The gentleman behind the counter was friendly and really helpful. We dined outside and the staff member who brought our food out was also courteous. Hank's is a shop where you order from their register and they call your name out when your food is ready. Hank's is a popular bagel shop with a lot of take out business as there was a steady flow of customers picking up on line, call in, or to go orders. For the variety of bagels we ordered, we ordered Rosemary Sea Salt, Salty Chocolate Chip, and I ordered the Everything Jalapeño Cheddar. The only issue I had with the bagels was how tough it was to tear or cut the bagels. Besides that, the bagels were very flavorful and tasty. Make sure to buy their plain cream cheese and liberally spread it on the bagels. The cream cheese made the bagels even more delicious. My Everything Jalapeño Cheddar bagel was too beautiful to eat. I love spicy, so maybe I'm immune to anything spicy, but I didn't taste any spiciness at all. There was a good amount of jalapeños on top, the cheddar doused the bagel, and I engulfed that bagel. The star of our breakfast meal was the Number 1 bagel sandwich. The number 1 comes with fried egg, choice of either spicy maple-glazed bacon or homemade turkey sausage, sharp cheddar, tomato, and aioli on an onion bagel. I selected the bacon and I loved it. I didn't realize this, but you can place any of their sandwiches on any of their bagels. Next time, I'm doing a sandwich with the Everything Jalapeño Cheddar bagel. The Number 1 sandwich is number 1 for a reason and I don't think you'll regret ordering this sandwich. All of the components combined with the bagel made for satisfying and yummy bites. I inhaled that sandwich and I thought that was one of the best breakfast sandwiches I've ever eaten. We always love spending quality time with our Baby Girl. Spending time with her while eating delicious bagels and sandwiches at Hank's made for a blessed time before our long trek to San Francisco.

Super bummed about this spot!! I was craving a delicious bagel so badly and we drove all the way…read moreout here to not a happy bagel place. :( Lots of street parking and wide open streets. We parked across and this place was BUSY. Line out the door! Took a while to even get inside this tiny hole in the wall. They have like 3 small tables outside. Super small tables. We luckily got a table after we ordered. Ordering took a bit since the line was out the door. I got the NUMBER 1 (egg, bacon, cheddar, tomato, aioli on everything bagel, toasted) while my bf got a custom one also toasted. Food came out pretty quick and was pretty sad. The fillings were delish BUT THE BAGEL ITSELF WAS SAD. Maybe I'm just used to crunchy/toasted bagels.. this one was insanely chewy that I felt like my teeth were going to fall out. We both asked for toasted and did not get that. I ended up picking and eating the egg and stuff inside and not even eating the bagel and tossing it. Super bummed and sad. Everything would've been so delicious if it had been toasted. Idek if they toasted them because of how chewy they were. Idk! Not my cup of tea, sadly. IG: @ammysalamii
