    Blue Soy Crab () (S)

First time trying raw marinated crabs and was throughly impressed and how good it was. There was so much flavor, and the crabs were well marinated. They gave lots of banchans and free refills, the fish cake and kimchi were so good. We also ordered the ahjae gookbap and gulgookbap both were Delicious. Tasted very homey, light and rich in flavor. Service was good, waiter was always attentive.

We walked into Ahjae Gookbap without much expectation, but ended up enjoying the meal. The soy-marinated raw crab was fresh with that jelly-like texture you'd hope for--no fishy smell. We also tried the chive and shrimp dumplings, which came in an interesting ball shape--well-seasoned and comforting. Kimchi was flavorful, and the service was genuinely warm and attentive. The space is small and feels more like a Korean diner than a restaurant, but worth a try if you're nearby.

2-of us got lucky walking in Sunday right after they opened at 4pm, with no reservation, but were able to get a table. They specialize in Korean soy sauce fresh pickled raw seafood (crabs, shrimps & scallops), rice soups (delicious soups you can add rice to the soup or eat rice out of traditional metal rice bowles). We had 2-raw crab soy sauced (wow), oyster pancakes (yummy) and gamja tang (delicious & piping hot) - we recommend this combo but took most of the tang (soup) home. The server was very helpful and friendly and we loved the SoHo vibe of the tiny eating area-prabable reason you need a reservation. They do have a spacious bathroom before the upper level kitchen. We also ordered 2-more Soups To Go. Definite recommend, what a find.

Food 5/5 - Came here for the ganjang gejang (soy sauce marinated raw crabs). This is the best place to get that dish. The crabs are fresh, no fishiness at all, and the marinade really penetrates into the crab. Comes with a decent size portion and for a good price. Also ordered the beef salad. The beef sits on a bed of kimchi and salad and the flavors complement really well with each other. The beef is tender and easy to chew. Also ordered the Ahjae Gukbap soup which came with a generous portion of beef. Soup was light but flavorful. The glass noodles in the soup were delicious. Service + Ambiance - 5/5 It's a small shop but the staff is super friendly and attentive. The shop gives off Korea mom/pop shop type vibes where it allows the food to speak for itself.

Was trying to find a restaurant that opened up early enough before King Spa, and lo and behold - Ahjae Gookbap opens up at 9AM on Saturday! I was so happy since their raw soy marinated crabs never disappoint. The small size contains 2 crabs, while the large contains 4. - Raw Soy Crab: 5/5, SO delicious and they give you seaweed on the side to wrap it up. I wish they gave you gloves to squeeze out the meat. You might like this if you like a more seafood-y sushi, and the meat of the crab is super sweet and savory - Ahjae Gook: 4/5, very light and refreshing with pieces of beef and tripe. It paired nicely with the rice and surprisingly filled us up with the banchan - Banchan: 4/5, some of the better banchan I've had! Very happy with the egg (given the egg price hike) Highly recommend! It's a small storefront with few seating, but the service is top notch and the staff are always friendly.

If you love Gejang (raw marinated crab) like I do, you know how hard it is to find a place that serves it, especially in Florida. I found this spot on Yelp when I traveled to New Jersey and had to check it out. It was so worth it! They offer two types of crabs: regular blue crabs and a special Korean crab that's only available for a limited time. If you have the chance, get the Korean crab, the meat is so much sweeter and more tender. It just melts in your mouth! The marinade was perfect, not too salty, not too sweet, just right. I also tried the fresh oyster soup, and it was so good! Super flavorful, loaded with ingredients, and just what I needed on a chilly day. It really warms you up in the best way. If you're craving authentic Korean seafood, this place is a must try. I'm already planning my next visit!

Raw dish of shrimp, scallops, crab. Yummy.

Very tasty food. Can't find this in New York! Tight quarters for eating. Lots to eat. Come with empty stomach!

Tiny gookbap place on the Korean restaurants row! They only have like five tables and the tables are on the smaller side. Went on Christmas day and service is phenomenal! All the side dishes taste so good and they give you refills. Suyuk muchim was so fresh and the meat was tender. I got the ahjae gookbap and it might have been one of the best ones I've tried on the east coast. The soup is well balanced and not bland too. They also give you the chili mixture you can add and it gives the soup a nice kick. Their gookbaps are worth it for the price but I think appetizers and other dishes can get a little pricey. -8.9/10

Came here for dinner and had soup. The broth was fresh, tasty, and natural. The small appetizers were different from other places. They offered seaweed which other places don't, quite innovative. The place is tight so there might be limited seating availability. Tho the ambiance was quite lively and enjoyable. I will definitely come back this place in the future : )

Ughhhhh want to love it but sort of slightly off. Gul-jun Oyster Pancake - taste very good and fresh but also very greesy Gamjatang - uhmmmm flavor not bad, pork was pretty tender. Potato was not cooked enough and just not better than any other places we've had. Ahjae Almandu Shrimp Ball - so so more like a vegetable ball. Looks better than it tasted. Ahjae Gookbap Premium beef bone soup - so so unfortunately granted the name. Hejang Gook Hangover Soup - same with Ahjae Gookbap but with vegetable with made it better. Ahjae Ppyojjim Braised prime beef meat bones - it was fine, could braised longer, sauce was sweet.

Korean @ Palisades Park, NJ The restaurant is very small but the food was delicious! We ordered soy sauce crab, ahjae gookbob, gamjatang and suyook and they all tasted delicious! The crab was not too salty and I really liked suyook which came with marinated cabbage, cucumber and scallions. Due to only two people working, the service wasn't too attentive and had to ask for napkins and a check.

Tried their gamjatang and it was really good. Not overly salty and flavor was perfect. Came with 2 small side dishes. Will come back to try other stuff on menu.

The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, whereas the ambiance was on the casual side with not that many seatings. The best dish we got was the large raw crabs (ganjang gejang) for 36, which priced out around 9 per crab that was cut in half. The marinade was so incredibly delicious and the crab was filled with fresh meat! I know some diners say it's pricey, but honestly for its high quality and freshness, I think it's relatively reasonable. We also got the braised prime beef (ahjae ppyo jjim), which has an intense and rich flavor, but the amount of bone to meat ratio was overwhelmingly imbalanced, where each piece had about 20% meat versus 80% bone. I definitely liked the dish but hope they can choose more meaty cuts next time! Lastly, we got the buckwheat noodle in cold broth (mool naengmyun), which was refreshing and tasty, just be careful not to add too much vinegar! Overall we had a really good time and we can't wait to come back, especially for more of the raw crabs! Thank you for reading and best of luck! (:

This time around, it's a stronger 5 out of 5 because of our waiter was amazing. Ugh, I can't remember his name. He was on top of everything and making sure our food was grilled in a timely manner. He was quick to follow up with orders/requests that didn't come through when the kitchen didn't bring them out. Usually my gripe or disclaimer I give to people is that Wooga is great at everything except wrapping up things on the end. In the past, whenever I went, it would take forever (!!!!!) to get our check and pay. It was so frustrating but this time around, it was a bit faster. It's a win-win situation because we get to pay and leave and the restaurant has another table for customers. Though on the pricier side, Wooga does check off all the boxes of: -amazing meat quality -amazing & attentive service -they don't skimp on banchans (side dishes that I heard other restaurants are starting to limit) -several meat combo options -best Korean steamed egg in the North Jersey area We tried the thinly sliced oxtails, which were really good but pretty pricey for $38cash/$39.90card for 11oz of it. There are some things that are inconvenient (long waits, very small parking lot) but it's easy to overlook them once you have a meal at Wooga. Things to know before you go: -Their menu is updated on their website if you want to check that out before you go. -The earlier you go, the better your chance of being seated quickly. Weekends are definitely a longer wait, so plan ahead. -Their parking lot is small so it fills up super quickly, so you'll have to park across the street and play Frogger (maybe you might be too young to know this reference?) to cross the 4 lanes of Palisade Ave. -When you arrive, make sure to check in with the host/hostess so that you could get a pager to know when your table is ready. Your turn can come pretty fast sometimes depending on the timing.

Salt and peppers are provided to adjust your seasoning as needed. Even though they could not finish the dishes i throughly enjoyed the food. What i like about Korean dishes is that even some are heavy and fatty they include lots of vegetables and healthy ingredients which makes it feel like you had a healthy meal and lots of nutrients despite eating out.
