I've been here several times and my consensus is: you can never got wrong with So Kong Dong!! They have a lot of your favorite, classic Korean dishes and they do it really well. I always come here for their tofu soup, which is always so comforting no matter what occasion. Compared to other tofu soup places, I find that they do not skimp on the serving of protein in their tofu soup (whether you get beef or seafood), which is very generous. Their KBBQ is also very good, and is the perfect accompaniment to your tofu soup. The service here is very quick and efficient, which just makes the whole experience of dining here so stress-free. Like I said, you can never go wrong with coming here- they got everything down to the T!

Still delicious and the service improved - the ban chan still has the five different dishes, and cucumber was much better seasoned and aged this time. The soup was delicious, and the BBQ ribs were good, though a little fatty. Prices up yet again on the soup and the menu a touch more broad, too.

One of the best seafood pancakes I've had Got the spicy tofu soup and also thought it was great portions and had huge pieces of seafood in it Had a nice homey feel inside Lots of seating if large group seating is needed Lots of parking also available

First time to this Korean spot after 10 years and the place hasn't changed much. We were seated right away and were given warm and cold corn/barley teas. The banchan were not as many as your other restaurants but the portions were huge. My seafood pancake was savory with the right amount of crunch. The soft tofu soups were served with a side of fresh whole eggs. I was a little disappointed because they don't serve the rice in stone pots anymore! I was looking forward to that burned rice tea. This is definitely a must go when in Fort Lee.

Recently ordered takeout from here. We had the seafood pancake, mixed tofu soup, and bibimbap. The pancake was super oily, and everything else was fine. It's pretty expensive now. Everything came out to almost $60! I will say though, that they still have the best cucumber kimchi around. With so many other Korean restaurants in Fort Lee/Pal Park, I don't think I would come back for the food, but I would come back just to buy some cucumber kimchi (if they sell just that).

Today was a cold day and having a spicy mushroom tofu soup from So Kong Dong, definitely warmed me up.

There's many soondubu (tofu soup) places in fort lee and this ranks #3 for me! BCD over Chodang over SKD The soondubu here lacks flavor here but also def on the spicier side compared to the others (medium level hot is prob hot at BCD) to give reference Love all the generous sides here tho!!

Good food at great prices, right of Main Street in Fort Lee. Love the dumplings, bibimbap, and kimchi jjigae.

Very homey Korean restaurant. They get pretty busy on the weekends but the servers are attentive. The seafood pancake was a little over fried.. the spicy beef noodle soup was good though. Limited menu.

Soondubu was good. For some reason they did not give an egg with it. Got the medium spicy, and it was not very spicy honestly. We came late, like 9:20pm, so we were a bit rushed and asked to leave when they were closing even though we weren't finished. However, it satisfied the craving.

Order a large seafood pancake to go. When I got home found out they gave me a small size. Called the restaurant the lady said is large size not small . I told her but it come only 4 slices not 6 slices , before I order I asked the waiter what's the difference between small & large . He say small have 4 slices & large have 6 slices. But the lady said is depends on how many people eat. But I order to go how you know how many people will eat the pancake? I checked on yelp pictures the large size have 6 slices not 4 slices. Paid large size & received small size. Not happy with their service, The lady doesn't feel she's wrong .

Satisfying tofu soup and side dishes. Service was very fast and attentive for lunch. I got the mild seafood tofu soup which came with plenty of shrimp and clams. Would recommend.

Folks are saying this place is halal. Is that true? How is it halal and they have pork options?

No they are not halal- we just went and asked August 2020

    Is this place halal?

No, it's a Korean spicy tofu house with Korean bbq

Is the meat served here Halal?

They don't have any halal sign at the door, so I' say it's not.

Is this a all you can eat place?

    No. But it's pretty affordable.

Ordered three things: 1) marinated crabs, small size (5/5). Always a must-get here. 2) ddukbaegi bulgogi (4.5/5) - Thinly sliced prime marinated beef ribeye casserole with rice cake and glass noodle and mushroom served in a sizzling hot pot. Really flavorful and so good to have on a cold day. 3) ahjae ppyo jjim (4.5/5) - Braised prime beef meat bones in soy reduction with carrots, radish, dates, chestnut, rice cake and glass noodles. We got non-spicy. It came in a HUGE bowl. Definitely meant to be shared with a group. Took leftovers home and it was still yummy the next day mixed with knife-cut noodles I had at home.

That gave us enough time to have the place to ourselves and order literally everything they could think to serve us. This was easily one of the best KBBQ experiences I've had. The Budae Jjigae was savory comfort, and the Shin Ramen Fried Rice was not only abundant, but served in an adorable heart shape. Even the Kimchi Stew and Gyeran-jjim were more umami than the countless counterparts I've had elsewhere. Came on a weekday night and there weren't many people in the store. - Deluxe Gomtang - I think the difference between the normal gomtang and the deluxe version is that they give a bit more meat and rice. I really liked the gomtang as the flavors were really rich especially when elevated by the pepper. - Seolleongtang - Clear and beautiful broth that went really well with salt. I felt like the meat was not as tender as I hoped but still made me think of my favorite Korean restaurant where I grew up. - Kong-guksu - I didn't know what to expect of this dish as I've never heard of it or tried it before but I didn't really like the dish. No matter how much salt/pepper I put in, there still didn't seem to be a lot of flavor. I ended up dumping the Korean Pickled Onion banchan in which helped elevate the flavor a lot. - Mini KimchiJeon - When I read this off the menu, I though the kimchi pancake would be extremely small but it turned out to be quite bit and very delicious. It was super crispy on the outside with soft insides stuffed with kimchi. I will definitely be back to this home-y restaurant!

You get a lot of food and the food is delicious and the meat is high quality. The service is always fantastic. We had a big party and were seated right away on a weekend. If you're on the fence about coming, definitely come.

Ooooh, it's been awhile since my last review…read more After 4 years, I still love Wooga but those "$$$$" on the their Yelp page keeps me from eating here more often. This time around, it's a stronger 5 out of 5 because of our waiter was amazing. Ugh, I can't remember his name. He was on top of everything and making sure our food was grilled in a timely manner. He was quick to follow up with orders/requests that didn't come through when the kitchen didn't bring them out. Usually my gripe or disclaimer I give to people is that Wooga is great at everything except wrapping up things on the end. In the past, whenever I went, it would take forever (!!!!!) to get our check and pay. It was so frustrating but this time around, it was a bit faster. It's a win-win situation because we get to pay and leave and the restaurant has another table for customers. Though on the pricier side, Wooga does check off all the boxes of: -amazing meat quality -amazing & attentive service -they don't skimp on banchans (side dishes that I heard other restaurants are starting to limit) -several meat combo options -best Korean steamed egg in the North Jersey area We tried the thinly sliced oxtails, which were really good but pretty pricey for $38cash/$39.90card for 11oz of it. There are some things that are inconvenient (long waits, very small parking lot) but it's easy to overlook them once you have a meal at Wooga. Things to know before you go: -Their menu is updated on their website if you want to check that out before you go. -The earlier you go, the better your chance of being seated quickly. Weekends are definitely a longer wait, so plan ahead. -Their parking lot is small so it fills up super quickly, so you'll have to park across the street and play Frogger (maybe you might be too young to know this reference?) to cross the 4 lanes of Palisade Ave. -When you arrive, make sure to check in with the host/hostess so that you could get a pager to know when your table is ready. Your turn can come pretty fast sometimes depending on the timing.

We decided on this place because rating was pretty good and was open late. It's located in a plaza with Korean market, liquor store, cafe and such. Large parking area available in the plaza. Inside is small but clean and gives off traditional Korean restaurant vibe with of course Korean music. There were quite few Korean customers as well as staffs so i knew we were in the right place. They specialize in Korean beef soup. We ordered rice cake and dumplings and special beef rib soup. The fish came with purple rice and various kimchi and pickled veggies side dishes. They also serve korean hot tea along side the dishes. My special beef rib soup was very light and clear but full of beef flavor. Little touch with salt and pepper with pickled veggies and rice paired with very well. The meats were very tender and flavorful as well. Portion is quite large and i was not able to finish my bowl although i did help with another bowl of rice from my partner. My partner got the rice cake and dumplings beef soup. This one was a but lighter and needed more salt flavoring but also good. She liked her's better as she doesn't like heavier and fattier meat/broth. Salt and peppers are provided to adjust your seasoning as needed. Even though they could not finish the dishes i throughly enjoyed the food. What i like about Korean dishes is that even some are heavy and fatty they include lots of vegetables and healthy ingredients which makes it feel like you had a healthy meal and lots of nutrients despite eating out. Service was minimal but adequate. Overall it was very good authentic Korean restaurant that offers solid Korean beef soup.
