This restaurant is in the grand canal and has a beautiful big patio, however today was cold so we ate inside. The interior is clean, bright and elegant. The pasta dishes were very good and they had extensive seafood options. The frutti de mare was very delicious. My wife had the filet mignon. It was great as well. The cocktail drinks need a little work. The bartender could not make a vodka martini and it came out like a vodka soda with lots of vermouth in a short glass even though they had all the ingredients and tools to make it. Made reservation at 7pm on a Saturday in July just to be safe at the terrace table. Terrace seemed to be the popular seats as we passed through the restaurant to the terrace, we did not see any tables filled with guests but as soon as we stepped out to the terrace, it was full of guests dining there. Had to get the attention of the waiter to place an order or get a check for the bill, but food came out fast, great quality of steak and lobster, not in the picture but tiramisu was amazing as well. This place was recommended by our hotel. Staff are not friendly, you could sit and wait for 10+ minutes before someone attends to you. Place wasn't that busy when we went so not sure what the delay was. This is a very cute restaurant and have menus in English and Italians we got two pizza vegetarian that is made with any leftover vegetables so out pizza had chicks of onions, eggplants, spinach, asparagus and pepper. Surprisingly it was yummy. The other pizza was cheese and both were yum. The dough and crust were perfect and tasty. They have a good variety of wine list. You can get full or half bottle or a glass. A reasonably late meal for wifey and me. It was made necessary by some very mediocre chichetti earlier. This restaurant is only few steps from where we are staying. We had a pizza with bresaola that was very surprising. There something about locally made burrata that separates those on the eastern side of the pond from most pizza made at home. The location is on Rio Tera Lista di Spagna not far from the Ferovia, so it is busy but the staff was readily available and responsive to requests. Our hotel recommended this restaurant right on the Grand Canal with beautiful flowers. They made a reservation for us. We started with the clam & mussel appetizer then shared a pizza. The waiter didn't understand & brought the pizza first & 3 minutes later our appetizer, there was no room on our table. The pizza was delicious but it wasn't cut so it was difficult to share. When I asked I was told they only cut pizza for child. Then came out to clams and mussels in a delicious white wine butter sauce. We dipped the bread in, it was delicious. As another review indicated, if someone is begging you on the street to come in the restaurant, it is not a good sign, It was a quick walk from our hotel and recommended by the front desk staff, I found nothing good about this place. Ordered a pizza margarita and the cheese was falling off, crust was limp/tasteless, sauce was bland and no basil on the pizza. The wine was horrible. I think this is a tourist trap that works with hotels to get people in the door and that's it. Looked at neighboring diners and their food looked terrible too. Plates of brown meat, gravy and mashed potatoes, I would walk out of that area and find a better place. read more

What a wonderful experience. We were seated in the back left corner at a small table for two. We had our backs to the restaurant, which was fine, as we ended up with a view of the canal, a bridge and the basilica. The food was amazing! I don't normally eat tomatoes but the caprice salad as so delicious I couldn't stop. The tomatoes were sweeter than the strawberries we get here in the states. The wine recommendations paired wonderfully well with our meals and the service was on point. Lunch I had the spaghetti ragu, wife had a pizza with the spicy sausage (like pepperoni) Dinner I had the fettuccini with half lobster in came in the shell (didn't know what to expect) wife had the spaghetti Ragu. Amazed at how the restaurant is rude and outrightly lying in their responses to Google reviews...if if they were not lying, NO RESTAURANT SHOULD BE ASKING THEIR CUSTOMERS TO LEAVE just because we didn't hit the minimum order they had in mind. Our vegetarian pizza was literally rubber pizza with vegetables thrown on the top. Boiled spinach, boiled carrots (yes boiled carrots), green peas (yes yes green peas) and God knows what. Beef lasagne was not edible. For someone who loves lasagne to not be able to even eat 1/4 even when you haven't eaten for hours before, is saying something! Avoid if you can. This is a large restaurant along a busy Venice pedestrian street near the train station. The best seats, without doubt, are on the patio overlooking the Grand Canal. You get an inspiringly scenic view of the canal and it's boat traffic, including gondolas. The food is good, not as special as the ambience, and while the service is very formal, it's not friendly, so you feel less welcomed than you might hope for. Still, worth trying if you're in the neighborhood and want classic Venice scenes. read more

I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant in Venice. Yes, you might argue it is a tourist trap because of the location, but the service, atmosphere, and food definitely make it great. The location can't be beat as it is along the grand canal with the back patio facing the water. Walking in you feel like you are in a true Italian restaurant, followed by a very friendly staff. Our server was phenomenal and actually wanted to get to know us. He sat us on the back patio, so we had a great view of the water for an early dinner as the sun was going down. We ordered a mixed salad together; all the ingredients were fresh and it was great getting to pour as much olive oil and balsamic vinegar in it as we liked(yep, they bring bottles to you for that). My wife got a tomato and cheese pizza and I ordered the lasagna. Both were super fresh and authentic. The lasagna was one if the best pasta dishes I had to date in Italy and my wife raved about her pizza. I had several slices and tasted like one of the pizzas we made in a cooking class. Our server thanked us for coming and made sure to promptly get us on our way as we were on somewhat of a time constraint. I highly recommend this gem when eating in Venice! read more

The folks at the restaurant may want to seat you inside, but if it's a lovely day outside, you'll want to ask for a seat outside because you can sit right next to the water. And it's not just the views here that are great -5)3 food is also quite good. While, yes, it is in a very touristy area (so, basically, Venice) it was the best Italian food I have ever had. It was so good we went back twice! Everyone is very friendly, but Europe is a terrible place for quick service so we waited, and waited. It's not terrible for me, but I had three hungry children with me so it was hard being on Venice time. The restaurant overlooks the canal which is fabulous. They rolled back the awning it was just gorgeous. You could see gondolas going by, the water buses and taxis, we even saw Polizia! The kids ordered spaghetti with bolognese sauce (apparently meatballs are a regional thing) and I ordered the best lasagna I have ever had in my life. I should have gotten another order. We then moved on to dessert. We ordered the tiramisu, mousse and some sort of cake. We sent the tiramisu (isn't that Italian??) back because it was terrible, but the other two were so delicious! The kids devoured them! It's pretty inexpensive to eat here compared with the rest of Europe and once we got our order taken everything proceeded at a little faster pace. So I came here on vacation and luckily found this place right across my hotel. I was looking for a place that had the Canal view. Was referred to this restaurant by our hotel's front desk when asking for something close and decent. It's located in a VERY busy tourist area but the interior appeared fairly modern and traditional. We went early so it was not busy at all. The service was HORRIBLE. Staff standing around chatting with each other, our server went to have his own dinner (we could see him sitting and leisurely eating) and left no one to cover our table. The food was at best "meh", definitely spoiled living in the Bay Area but I've had excellent Italian food in SF compared to this place in Venice - LOL would never go back and suggest looking for better options. read more
