I have been coming to Alanis for about 3.5 years now and I have not been disappointed. The response time for an appointment is incredible and they always update me if someone is running late or if there needs to be any changes. They have also been very understanding when I have to change appointment times last minute. I have not had a chance to go with all the techs but a few favorites are Mia, Nhi, Sally, Alanis and Kim. They listen to what I want and work with my tiny lashes. The prices are great and they are always welcoming when I come in. All my coworkers get their lashes done here and we will continue to do so!! This review is long overdue but I can't help but rant about Alanis and her sincerity and passion in helping her customers. I first came to Sola Salon to check out Wink by Wynter who is a few doors down and I was super excited because her Instagram was very popular and I loved her work but when I went there I told her I wanted volume lashes that were fluffy but not too much and even showed her specific styles from her page. I also mentioned beforehand that i wore false lashes regularly just because she asked why I wanted to get extensions done and she even commented that I already had long lashes. So after about almost 2 hours, she had put extensions that were so long they touched my eyebrows without me even looking up and I just looked so ridiculous! My initial thought was they looked okay when I first opened my eyes, so I didn't say much but after getting a better look in the bathroom and weird looks from people, I called shortly after to ask Wynter if she could fix them but she ignored my text and calls and only picked up right after when i used my mom's phone number. She refused to fix them and even said I said I wanted "dramatic lashes" when I never ever used that word or mentioned that. She claimed she couldn't do anything because the glue was still setting and would take weeks to fix once I was ready for a fill but I didn't want to go to school the next day looking crazy. So I began looking on yelp and messaging salons to see if they could take me the next day and Alanis was so quick to reply and very helpful since I was so stressed out and disappointed and she said she felt so bad because I paid Wynter $120 that she would charge me no more than $60 depending on how much work was needed to remove and redo the lash extensions. I came the next day and even she agreed, as a lash technician, that the lashes were waaaayy too long and it took her and her other technician Mia about an hour to remove and redo the extensions and she was so sweet and friendly. I messaged her about a week later because some of the lashes on my right eye fell out and asked if I could come in to fix it and she let me come in right away with no charge and wouldn't even accept a tip! She was so genuine and kept refusing the money because she truly believed in making sure the customer is happy. I live in irvine and I truly think it's worth making the drive for the amazing customer service, price, and they're quick to reply and apply the extensions! I came back last week for a fill and got a shorter length and Sally was very sweet and gentle and I'm very happy with how it turned out! Only left out one star because the lashes did fall off kind of quick for me each time I got them done but nothing too noticeable. read more

Just came out of getting my lashes done and I am completely disappointed in the service and the results. I was looking forward to getting my lashes done for the first time, especially after seeing the $85 mink lash deal. However, after this experience, I don't know if I'll ever be able to go back and get my lashes done ever again. When I first got there, they rushed me into the room without introducing themselves nor giving me any explanation about what they were doing. When I asked them questions, they responded with short answers. They even had the audacity to talk shit in Vietnamese, which I understand, because I was simply clarifying if the lashes I'm getting are mink. At one point during the application process, I got so upset from overhearing their mean comments that my eye subconsciously started to twitch and the girl doing my lashes started complaining in Vietnamese about how I was twitching and how I was slowing her down. I would have appreciated it if she had told me so I could help her do her job or maybe NOT TALK SHIT ABOUT ME SO I WOULDN'T HAVE BEEN SO PISSED. Multiple times during my session, the receptionist kept coming in to the room and rushing the girl who was doing my lashes to finish so she can start working on another customer. To make matters worse, because the girl was so rushed, my eye lashes are uneven. One side is fuller than the other. I also asked for full, natural looking lashes and she had said she would "give (me) lashes that are a little bit longer than (my) natural lashes." I ended up with extra full and extra long lashes that are anything but natural. Before I left, she didn't even explain to me the maintenance of my lashes when I specifically told her it's my first time getting lash extensions. In the end, I paid, responded thank you in Vietnamese, and left. I was too upset with the service to put into words how I felt at that time. Overall, don't go to this place because apparently they think that it's professional to talk shit about their customers and rush through the application process. If you want fuller, beautiful looking lashes, I suggest you look elsewhere. And if you already couldn't tell, I am VERY unhappy with my service here and will not be returning again. read more

Got my lashes done with Linh, it took 1.45 hours for a full classic set, she was so nice and patient and asked me with style I wanted, the curl length etc. They told me they just moved here so the interior still looks like it's being repainted etc. but the service is great and the people are so nice. The price especially for the lashes are soooo reasonable compared to what you would be charged other places, and fills after 2 weeks are only $20 I think! read more

Assembly line type place. If you're someone that's NOT new to the lash game and loves a full volume set this place isn't for you. I tried this place 3 times to give them a fair chance. After reading all the comments for this business I desperately wanted to get an appointment. I figured because Alanis and Mia's work was the only displayed that they were the only two lash technicians. I called after carefully doing my research on many lash studios and I felt lucky enough to have been given an appointment the same day! I went to the lash studio which in tricky to find. There are tons of little small businesses within one portion of the building. But I was able to find it and I met with my lash tech who was really nice. The tech was nice enough to remove the lashes from my old botched job that included tons of glue. The tech was really quick. When the tech was done I liked my lashes and was on my way home. The next morning, to my horrible surprise, the lashes began to shed uncontrollably. Mind you, I had only had my lashes done one other time and I knew enough that this was not normal at all! By mid week there was a huge bald spot on my right eye because of the extent to which the lashes were falling out. Unfortunately, I had to go somewhere else A WEEK LATER to have someone fix this disaster. Also, I found out later that the lash tech at this place had also used tons of glue on certain spots of my eye that I later had to pay to be removed. And the moral of this review is....Don't be cheap when it comes to lashes! You get what you pay for! read more

They did such an amazing job on my lashes! I've been going there for about 6 months and I had 3 different ladies do my lashes. The lashes last if you care for them correctly and follow instructions they give you. Each time I got them done they lasted me 2 to 2 1/2 wks. This review is long overdue. Alanis used to do my lashes every other week when I lived in CA. (Moves to AZ) She is so talented and such a sweet, down to earth person. What first drew me to her is how convenient and easy it is to make an appointment. She is just one text away. There was only one time when I wasn't satisfied with my lashes and she took me under her wing and fixed them for me free of charge. On another occasion when I was leaving to Europe for 2 weeks she gave me a full set of volume lashes completely free as a token of her appreciation for me (loyal client of 1 year before I moved.) I came in around 2 weeks ago and got my lashes done by Julie, she was extremely patient since i was still deciding how i wanted my lashes. At the end of my appointment my lashes we're a little too thick for me but pretty much exactly how i wanted them, i came in the next day and julie removed some with no problem. She personally trained all of her employees, so they are all just as good...it seems as though she has the Midas touch!! This is the worst experience I have ever had going to get my eyelashes done. I have been going to this place for over six months and I always go with In two weeks; I have never gone over the two weeks for a fill. I went to have another fill today. Yesterday was exeactly two weeks since my last fill. I went in as usual and when I was finished they told me it was $60. I have ALWAYS paid $40 every time I have went. And that is the price for a fill for two weeks. I called the owner wondering why the price went up and she told me it had been longer than two weeks. I explained it was only ONE day over. She said that it was over two weeks. Mind you, my eyelashes were still VERY full because I take good care of them. I tried to explain that I've been coming in every two weeks religiously and some times even in one week! And I was a loyal customer and had been coming for a long time. No one told me that it was going to be $60 before we started the appointment. Otherwise I would have left. This business has extremely poor customer service and is not clear what so ever. All they have is a little paper sign with prices. They scam you by doing your set or fill first then they tell you how much it's going to be. I will never be coming back here and I hope people that do go here, or want to, are aware of what they can do. The eyelashes are average. Nothing spectacular. It's what you would expect to get in a nail salon. I was coming here because they had good prices and I had been coming here for a long time. The rooms are tiny and there are just two massage beds with one pillow they use for all their clients. No sanitary covers and they don't wear gloves. read more

Update: Two minutes after I posted my review, I get a text from Alanis who wanted to rectify the situation. I gave Lashify another chance, and she did not disappoint. I'm in love with them and NO burning this time. She did explain that I did tend to twitch a lot and that my lashes were naturally curly, but it did not excuse what the other technician did. She also told me that technician no longer works for her anymore. Alanis took time and care on my lashes, and this trip took much longer than the first time, which raised some eyebrows about my first experience. But she is amazing at her craft, and an HONEST business owner who did not even want to take a penny from me even when I offered a tip. She even told me that a section of my lashes would fall out faster because of my eye shape, but that's how she won me over: honesty. Bonus points: when I told her that I worked at a veterinary lab, she said she researched mink lashes and does not use them because she does not condone animal cruelty! She's a total sweetheart who made me feel comfortable the whole experience and also kept me laughing. I'm definitely now a loyal client. This was my first lash experience and pretty disappointing. Although it was easy to book an appointment, I agree with another person who wrote a recent review on what seems like the day I went as well. I'm reading plenty of positive reviews about Alanis and Mia, but neither were my technician that day. The procedure was an ease and pretty much painless except for a few eyelid pinches here and there. Not unbearable. I was extremely satisfied with the outcome, and they were gorgeous... Until the next morning when I woke up. My eyes were burning like no other, and a majority of the lashes started falling out from my uncontrollable tears. I couldn't even put on my contacts that day. They had an opening so I took it right away. Went there and love the place and even more in love with Nhi, the girl that did my lashes. I loved how it turned out. I've always been on the fence about doing my lashes because I don't want to ruin my real ones but I completely trust Mia in that her technique is the least damaging and I haven't seen a major decrease in real lashes. Setting appointments up was super smooth both times I went. Place look like a clean environment and they have good customer service. Only reason why I won't be coming back is because one of my eyes didn't seem to like the type of adhesive/glue they used. I decided to give the place a 2nd chance before discarding it completely and unfortunately both times my eye reacted the same way. I did tell the lash technician before hand that last time maybe she could of let some glue into my eye and thought that maybe that was the reason, she was super nice about it and I could feel and tell she tried to be really careful the 2nd time around but my eye was just not having it. So unfortunately won't be going back. Definitely would recommend if you have sensitive skin or eyes ask what type of glue/adhesive they use just to be safe. read more
